It’s cool. Take your kids & grandkids here after the Games. The big grand table in the middle sits 20 for your larger parties. Fun classic people can go here to relax for true Americana service without the extra extreme hoopla. Price is $$ so expect a $25 meal for 2 if it’s a date.

This place is awesome!! I have no idea why others gave such bad ratings. At lunch the place had probably 3-4 booths with people, but it started filling up. We order and received our food in a reasonable amount of time. The food was how we ordered and was good. For breakfast the place was packed. It took a little longer to get waited on, but the place was full. Our waitress apologized for the wait, which wasn’t that long.

I gave the Main Cafe another shot a couple of weeks ago and I am so happy that I did! Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Staff was so friendly and the place was inviting and clean! I highly recommend the Country Fried Steak and eggs! So yummy!

Very personable staff. Burger was amazing. Catfish really tasty. German tasters yummy. Funnel cake fries to go! Be prepared for a wait on food, but it’s worth it.

As small town America as small town America gets and great for it. Beautiful old diner, with great food and atmosphere.

Locally owned and operated. One thing I love about the main is my food is always piping hot. I love getting a quick bite in the mornings. Try the McMain we love them.

Good food, good prices, and good service. Can get a bit busy early in the morning, but usually enough room to get seated. Plenty of parking right out front, and a lot of lovely shops within walking distance (if you visit in the later morning). After breakfast, they serve lunch until close.

This place is, quite literally, a dream, a fever dream, or possibly amazing. I honestly can't tell if it's shtick or the kind of genuine experience you can only find at a small town diner, but I walked into the 50s decor and found myself in vaudeville.

There was a gentleman holding a grenade shaped coffee mug amusing a small corner of the restaurant with local affairs. An elderly fellow was learning the intricacies of checking himself out with a new POS with all the grace of a Gitterbug commercial. The customers all talked amongst themselves, over their shoulders, and across the massive central table that seems to transform this restaurant into a community.

I had a MainCristo, a fun French toast take on the classic sandwich. It was flavorful without being excessive. Coffee was above average, hot, and served often. The owner serenaded me for my birthday with the only time I've ever actually appreciated being sung to on my birthday and then presented me with a green, 3 inch coated self driving deck screw. I will be coming back, even if I only go to see if it is all real.

I ordered 2 eggs over easy sausage and a biscuit. And 2 pancakes.. she came to the table and I was just shocked at how much food she brought me.. the pancakes were so big , couldn't even fit on a regular plate.. I was stuffed halfway through the pancakes.. no way I could eat it all.. very well worth the money. And the food was awesome..
You should visit them if you get the chance....

Honestly one of the best American diners in the country. The interior could use an update but it stays with that rustic 1950’s family run eatery look and feel. From breakfast to lunch they have a large menu for all your family’s wants! Even have fresh homemade pies and cakes! Completely recommend!

Walk into this establishment and prepare to be greeted by a Old, yet authentic feel. Cozy and welcoming, be prepared to enjoy an Old school Cafe breakfast. With all the comforts of breakfast mom used to make. Sausage, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. Don't forget the delicious biscuits with a generous helping of gravy. "Boo" long time waitress with a delightful Kentucky draw will make sure you are taken care of and belly full. Coffee never gets low with her around. This is a must stop for breakfast goers with wonderful prices. If your craving some comfort in a relaxing and nostalgic environment with good food. Then Main Street Cafe is the place in New Harmony. Thank you ladies, Tron from Texas.

Excellent service. I wanted to give a shout out to a compassionate waitress who helped me carry a to go order to my car when my hands were full with a newborn.

Great food, great service, very nice and friend y people that run the cafe. On most Saturdays they have a male that comes in and works. You will barely be seated and he will have the menu at the table for you and will take your drink order. His name is Kim alias THE JUNK YARD DOG. Now I want to tell you he is on top of everything. The dog is the best I have seen. He is fast and will take care of all your needs. Be sure and leave the dog a nice tip, he is well worth it.

Took my granddaughter and her husband for lunch after we toured New Harmony. They were here from California. The shrimp and grits were the best I’ve had since having them in Alabama! My grandson in law said the hamburger was cooked to perfection, something you rarely find! Mr granddaughter was extremely impressed! Definitely Will be returning. I’m from Evansville.

You'll always have a great meal at The Main Cafe. Friday is meatloaf day. Don't miss out. The pie options are drool worthy. They don't take cards so you'll have to bring cash!!
