Mendota Hills Campground

This wasn’t our first time staying at Mendota hills and it certainly will not be our last. When we arrived, my husband had some concerns that his truck would rub on our camper when we had to turn around to go to our site. A couple of gentleman that I’m positive own/work there came over and graciously offered to hook their truck up and pull our camper to our site. Super helpful!!! I felt welcomed at every single interaction with every worker and person there. The Mother’s Day activity was adorable and bingo was a blast as always.
It seems like they are actively expanding their facilities and offerings while still maintaining very reasonable rates.

Great experience for our first ever camping trip! Everyone in the camp store was great with every interaction. Rates are reasonable and facilities are great! Will definitely be back!

This was our first time at Mendota Hills and it was a great weekend! With our arrival on Friday night, we were greeted by friendly staff and check in was fast and easy. We purchased firewood and it was delivered to the site as we were guided to the site.
We really like the cement pad on the pull thru sites and we’re set up in no time. Everyone around the camp grounds were friendly and it was a beautiful setting with the open fields and healthy lakes.
There are great activities for everyone to enjoy and everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. Our son was quick to make friends and there was a lot of space to play and different activities to try. His highlights included the frog jumping contest, basketball knockout games, Bingo, volleyball and playing with other kids.
The camp ground and showers are clean and quiet.
We look forward to our next trip and making more memories as a family.

So it's $40 for a camp spot without power or water and $48 with both. A bit expensive per night but other than that this place is awesome. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful. Kids had a frog race in the AM. They will even taxi you around if it is your first time there camping or if you just need it. They have rental golf carts for $140 a nights which is also a bit high but there if you need it. They have 4 lakes and in one they have kayaks, paddle boats, and a dock for fishing. 2 other lakes for fishing and 1 lake for swimming. They have a big inflatable water slide and 2 other inflatable water toys. They even had a leau and a pig roast while we were there with a live band. Great spot for a weekend of camping. This is what happens when Americans buy and build in America!

This place is awesome! All the staff was very nice, other campers offered a hand as soon as we pulled up to our site. We were told by another camper to help our selves to his wood if we needed some. This site comes with a fire ring, pick nick table and an above ground black tank very nice having to haul waste away. They also offer rental golf carts here. The fishing is catch and release so no license required. We had a great time and highly recommend. The only con is that the sites are a little close however we had a great neighbor.

This is an amazing family campground. My sister introduced me to it and we fell in love. My daughter and I have so much fun camping out, swimming and doing activities. I was really surprised by all the great family activities. There was build a cardboard boat race, frog races, dance parties with donuts, and Halloween trick or treat, pumpkin carving, and Christmas in July was so fun seeing all the decorations. The prices are really good and there's even a church on site. I highly recommend this place.

There was a lot to do at this beautiful and fun campground! The bathrooms were impeccably clean and there were lots of things to do provided. Staff was also extremely friendly and willing to help out.

My family had so much fun we booked another weekend trip before we left! Great family friendly campground. Nice options for fishing and bullfrog catching is a blast! Kids activities are nicely planned. Everyone from the staff to seasonals are so kind and welcoming. Cute gift shop with all your basic needs. Starved Rock is 35 min away so we went and hiked there.
The only recommendation for them would be to put prices on the activity sheets if something costs money. Everything was basically free but bingo and I had no cash. They do have an ATM if needed. Bring cash would be my only suggestion. Highly recommend Mendota Hills Campground!

Love love love this place! Our family stays here together every year and have a great time. The setting is peaceful and quiet to be one with nature while still offering activities for those interested in participating. From fishing to axe throwing to archery to the frog jumping contest, there is something for everyone. If you forgot something just visit the quaint office/store where you can also grab a treat or rent a golf cart. It's wonderful!

Absolutely loved this place! The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and kind! The campground is beautiful, lots of scenery! They have fun activities for the kids and great amenities to keep everyone entertained. We rented a golf cart and it was so much fun! Highly recommend!

This place is amazing. My wife came across it from a Facebook group and we rented one of their campers in May. The kids (12 &10) loved it, and my wife and I found it relaxing. Friendly people, incredibly friendly and kinds staff. Fun activities, and even a church planted on the grounds. We fell in love with this place and just bought a seasonal camper there. I highly recommend a stay at Mendota Hills!

Rural location with lots of great friends and family sites with there large beach with blow ups and how great bingo was, if you win they will shout FIRST TIME WINNER AT MENDOTA HILLS CAMPGROUND if you win for your first time overall great experience and definitely would recommend!!!

This campground is a great place to stay they provided a picnic table, fire pit and a friendly staff if you are ever in the neighborhood with your camper it’s definitely worth it. You can rent a golf cart and go fishing in their lakes or take a 3 min drive into amboy and eat at the long branch.

Spacious and clean rental trailers at a reasonable price. The kids loved the water slide, chickens, and frog racing. We did not encounter any issues during our stay.

Super friendly campground from the staff and other campers. Clean, nice playground and lots of fishing for the kids. It was cold so we didn't get to use the Beach area but it looked fun and we'll maintained

Mendota hills is so amazing. The hospitality, the cleanliness, the accommodations, and the awesome activities make us never want to leave. They have made us feel like we are a part of their camping family. We wouldn't choose to be anywhere else! Best place to relax and spend time with great people.

MHC is an amazing place! The owners and employees work extremely hard to make it more than just a great campground, it is an experience. The facilities are amazing, the grounds, sites, and buildings are VERY well kept. Numerous activities and things to do including an amazing Church worship service on Sunday. And last but definitely not least the people also make MHC such an enjoyable place to visit, camp, or stay for the season . Highly recommend this campground and can't wait to return. A big thank you to all those who make it such a special, blessed, and fun place. 10 stars!!👍👍

This was a very family friendly campground. The rentals were much nicer and cleaner than the rentals at some of the other campgrounds we've been at. The people in the office were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

A very kid friendly park with lots of activities including fishing ponds. The staff was friendly and very helpful in giving us local information including a great pizza place that delivers. We had a fhu, pull thru site. Nice site but sloped and harder to level a motor home then a trailer or 5 th wheel. Fire pits seemed to be a bit close and 11pm quiet time was later then we're used to. Most adhered to it but some in our area didn't. If we are in the area we would stay again.
