Love what they are doing here for cyclists. Great spot to stop and chug a Gatorade and slam a couple ice creams. Met a couple dudes that I think May have been the owners and they were very friendly as well.

A quaint place to find food and drink just a short walk from the tunnel. Weirdly, it restored some of my faith in humanity.

A must see stop on the Tunnel Hill State trail. Brian is an outstanding young man who owns the old time store. Just south of the tunnel along the trail. Just sit and relax and enjoy an ice cream, water or soda. Bring cash and it was self serve when I was there

Located on the site of the old Sandburn post office and general store, this is a historic stop on the Tunnel Hill Bicycle Trail. Besides being one of the few retail stops along the Tunnel Hill Trail, for ice cream, cold drinks, snacks, bike repair parts or fishing bait, proprietor Brian Aldrich has the best plants anywhere around. Offering a huge variety of plants, his garden starter plants are much healthier and hardier than those Bonnie plants sold at the big home stores, and at better prices. Also check out his beautiful hanging baskets, ornamental plants, bushes, roses, and trees. New this spring are delicious strawberries grown on site. Brian and his staff are always super friendly and helpful. On top of all of that, he sells some interesting merchandise such as T-shirts, jams and jellies. He also provides bicycle rentals and shuttles, and primitive camping.

This is such a great idea! Some guys told me about this place and honestly I thought they were pulling my leg. Small roadside store with much needed trail
and even ice cream! Good luck and thank you to the owner of this fine establishment.

Ditto to all the other 5-star reviewers. The owner Brian Aldrich is a generous and laid-back fellow. Not only did he charge his regular $5/head/night camping fee on the night before the eclipse, he and a friend helped transport my gear to my campsite after dark.

Brian offers "Primitive Tent Camping", which includes 5 or 6 well-spaced leveled sites with fire rings & picnic tables. Cold water and a porta-potty are also provided. He accepts camper vehicles, and he provided a makeshift electrical hookup for the one camper I saw on the night before the eclipse.

The property abuts the Tunnel Hill bike trail, so it's a great overnight option. (For day trips, park at the Tunnel Hill state facility a mile north, which has more parking and real lavatories. But be sure to stop for ice cream.)

Great variety, very helpful and knowledgeable staff and prices were more than fair. I was on trail bike riding and was able to buy plant and pick up when finished riding.

Quaint and throws you back in time . The store runs on an honor system, if you want a candy or ice cream or soda, put money in the box as priced
