Ned's Shed

Glad we found Ned’s. We pass through here couple times a year and just found this place. It will become a normal stop to eat from now on! Excellent food and friendly service.

Located right next to Route 45 in southern Illinois, this local gem has a welcoming atmosphere. Despite it being my first visit, the staff made me feel right at home, even sitting down to take my order. Their BBQ sells out quickly, but the burger and fries I tried were exceptional – among the best I’ve had. Highly recommended for both locals and those willing to take a short drive off Interstate 24.

Loved Ned’s shed. Saw the sign on the highway. Thought it has to be better than McDonald’s or Hardee’s and we had such a treat!! We loved the food. Only bad thing is cash only which can make it hard.

Greatest burger and shakes. Worth driving for. Taste of burger is rich and like a burger should taste.

Great food! Fried bologna sandwich was huge! Waitress was sweet and management was polite and courteous. The fries definitely deserve their "famous" title!

I always like to try and go to local places when I’m out of town, and Ned’s Shed didn’t disappoint! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had, and very friendly staff (the owners were especially friendly) as well as some of the other customers. Would definitely return!

One of the best burgers and fries I've had. They don't cheat you on food, great portions. They make their own slaw for the Burgers. I recommend 10/10 the owner even served us and was the sweetest lady I've met.

This place is a local treasure, I can't say enough about how much I liked the entire place. You come in and it's a real step back to yesteryear diners.

Family owned and ran. Everything was excellent, especially the service which is rare these days. They have handmade shakes/malts, classic burgers on the flat top and fries the way they should be, nice and crisp unlike the soggy disappointment you get at chain restaurants. The relish for the burgers is tasty, nice and fresh crisp taste.

Really, this is a fantastic place that are harder and harder to find. The mom and son out front taking orders and sending out food, very pleasant and efficient. The dad was the cook, from what he was efficient but also not sacrificing quality, a good balance rarely done by most places.

My first time here but they treat you like your coming to their home for a meal and the regulars that came in the knew by name.

I'll definitely be back, places like this need to be supported and encouraged. Great job!

Visited from Missouri, looking for a hole in the wall lunch spot on the way to Nashville. This was the perfect spot! Great staff and great food. The burgers are awesome along with their homemade relish, the spicy curds were so good. The owners were very nice, even gave us a scenic route to our destination rather than taking the interstate. We will definitely be back.

Vienna favorite serving up the best barbecue sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and fries! If you are heading north on I24, make the quick 5 min detour over to this dive for some tasty favorites in a setting straight out of the 1950s!

Fantastic food, outstanding service. Very friendly and gave us great recommendations. We tried a little bit of everything, and it made for a fantastic meal! Pictured below are the Apple Pie Sticks ... They were incredible.

Love Ned's!!! Anytime I'm passing through, and they are open, it is my "go to" place! Burger, fries and a Ski! Oh Yeah!!! I live in TN, and this little, awesome, fun, and delicious place has been there for years. Highly suggest you give it a chance! And be a little patient if they are busy.....it's worth it!!

Wonderful small town historic restaurant with tasty burgers and sides. The staff is very welcoming and service was quick. They even have the option of a delicious slaw topping that makes their burgers something special. I got the cheese fries. What a wonderful tasty mess. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite spots. They aren't open enough, but when they are, get the pulled pork and the BBQ sauce. You won't be sorry.

Great Family Diner

I had The Hill Burger. It's a double cheeseburger with the BBQ pork on it. It also has their BBQ sauce. It was excellent. The fries were also very good.

The people were really friendly.

It's clean and had a historical look inside.

I will return.

Bicycling: The Tunnel Hill Trail is nearby. There is also an outside eating area.

Still a great place to eat. $2 bbq sandwich on Tuesdays. You have to get the chow, they have been making since the 50s. Friendly staff and awesome fries.

This place is amazing! my mom & I saw their billboard on the side of the highway & just decided to stop in on our way to Florida and omg this place makes the BEST food and has the friendliest staff ever!

Hidden gem from another era! They make their own pickle relish from scratch. The owner says they are celebrating 65 years in business. We were driving from Nashville to Springfield, IL and stopped for gas. Were planning to go to Wendy's in Marion, but then I found this place on Google maps. Very glad we stopped here instead! Excellent service, and good burgers and fries. Clean restroom too, which is a good sign for a restaurant. We will be stopping here often when we make trips home to Springfield. If you are really hungry I recommend the triple burger and cheesy fries.

Yummy for the tummy and if you want to feel like living the old era of time or peeking into the past. This is the hot spot for you and or your family.
