Shawnee Forest Campground

Best stay of our trip! Right off the highway, great site so we could keep our tow vehicle connected and I just can’t tell you how peaceful and beautiful it was. The pond, the rolling hills, the green grass, the walking trails, the outrageous sunset and the really nice lady who helped us find the best spot. A little freeway noise, but everything else was more than we hoped for.

This was a beautiful campground! Easy to find just off the Interstate and so beautifully maintained. We had a large pull thru site with a picnic table. The bathhouse/ bathroom was so very well maintained, very clean. The showers were great with wonderful water pressure. We will be sure to stay here again!

Great campground, one of our favorites!! Bathroom and showers were very clean and great water pressure. Coin laundry, very clean. Andrea was so accommodating and helpful. Billie the host was very friendly and helpful. Loved our site clean pretty level and some shade. A small view of one of the ponds. Great fishing catch and release. Looking forward to coming back and was told the bank on ponds will be bushhogged soon, which will make great bank fishing!!

Campground is very clean..it is also quiet and right off the highway. All sites were pull-through and fairly level. Staying here was fairly priced.The lady that checked us in super nice and helpful too. We will be back

We spent an absolutely idyllic long weekend here waiting on the solar eclipse and it was everything I hoped it would be for our viewing party home base! Gorgeous setting, perfectly outfitted bathhouses and laundry facilities, walking trails, and every site is full hook up. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to set up and the next time our travels bring us through southern IL we will seek out to stay at SFC again.

Fabulous place ! It used to be a golf course and the golf cart trails are amazing for walking and e bikes !!! There are several beautiful lakes throughout the course. The Campground is very clean, safe, quiet and close to the interstate. Billie, the Campground host, is very friendly and helpful. A great place to stay for sure. The southern Illinois area is beautiful with sooooo many amazing trails, state parks and lakes. Stay for a while and check them out !

Traveled from Georgia to stay at this campground for the Solar Eclipse and I'm SO happy I found this spot! It's a great little campground with very friendly hosts and beautiful water views and walking trails (old cart paths) around the property.

Although the town is small, there is a nice little city park that I went to a few times, a nice bike trail and my favorite was traveling about 15 minutes up the interstate to Fern Clyffe State Park in Goreville.

So if you're passing through the area or have anything else going on in Vienna, IL, be sure to make Shawnee Forest Campground your place to stay!

Also bonus points to them for keeping their regular rates for the solar eclipse!

The best thing about this campground is the lady who runs it Billie, she is awesome! Very helpful with picking a site and packages. Nice campground and it’s really fun to be in an old golf course.

Well maintained campground. Always a pleasure staying here on our way north. Don't miss the Vienna Diner, great food and friendly atmosphere.

Great Campground! Camp hosts were really friendly. Nice walking paths for your dog. Laundry facilities were clean and inexpensive. We'll definitely be back.

Nice campground right off interstate 57, the camp host was very pleasant. This use to be a golf course so there are paved waking trails throughout the park and woods and around the ponds. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing. Their sites and bathrooms are nice and clean, with a picnic table and fire pit at each, we will definitely be back!

This campground has easy access from the interstate. The spots are easy to navigate. The hosts offer service that is above and beyond. They were able to assess that our converter was not charging our battery and loaned us a charger so we were able to camp for the weekend!! We have stayed here before and will stay here again. We highly recommend this campground!! ❤

Full hook up camping, gotta love it! Great location to hiking, caves, Shawnee Forest, and so much more! Already booked a week's stay for July, meeting my sister there so she can hike the Shawnee.

We stayed here for about a week and really enjoyed it. The walking trails (old golf cart paths) were nice, and the location was convenient. Cell phone coverage was great. The only issue we had was an excessive number of stink bugs. I'm not sure that is fully in the owner's control, but that was not pleasant. Overall a great stay!

Nice campground with full hookups on each site. Bathrooms are nice and include a shower and there is a nice laundry room. This is an old golf course so there are nice walking paths around the ponds. I wish there would have been recycling. Camp hosts were very nice. It's near a busy hwy and you can hear traffic much of the time.

Huge spots. All pull through. All full hookup. Decent price. Facility looks newer & well maintained. It is old golf course so there are a couple miles of intact cart paths to walk dogs

Awesome campground with pull through campsites. Electric, water and sewage hook ups. 24 hour laundry available on site. The lady in the main office came out to meet us as we pulled in with booklets of the area and information on the campgrounds. She was super nice and helpful. After a long day of driving the hospitality and friendly attitude was a joy. You can hear the highway from the campsites but with our ac going I didn’t notice. If your looking for a easy setup and friendly staff this is the place to stop.

Great campground. Full hookup for $40 made our maiden voyage in our new Rv easy. Close to a bunch of hiking trails. Larger towns near by so restaurants and shopping was within 15 minutes. Nice walking trails and ponds to check out on site. Newer trees will really fill in in the next few years and will definitely enhance the park. We stayed on lot 26 for 3 nights which was large and was all by itself. We will definitely be back!

It's a nice quiet campground. It was built on an old golf course so there is cart path for bike path all the way around with scenic views with ponds great sunsets. Bathrooms are very nice clean and updated. They're warm and cooled. Also has laundry on site. Every site has full hookups water sewer and power 50 amp.

This is the 4th time in 4 years that we visited Shawnee Forest Campground. It is a great place to stay especially when traveling. It is easily accessible off of I24 and with many pull through sites!

We will stay again!
