Thank you to Maher Funeral Home who once again helped our family through a most difficult time with the passing of my father. Eric was especially kind, helpful and genuine. I felt comfortable that he would handle all matters with care which he 100% did. I will always recommend Maher Funeral Home to family and friends.

Our family has buried 4 immediate family members in 2023. Our first experience with Maher was in March when my Aunt passed away. She specifically said she wanted to have her wake at Maher when she passed. So to honor her wishes, that is what our family did. It turned out that was the best decision she could have made. Since March we have been back for 3 more wakes. One in July for my Uncle, and two in November for my Dad and my Grandma. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Eric Hoffman. He is trustworthy, kind, compassionate and truly wants to help the families he serves. His partner Jan has now become an honorary member of our family. The funeral home is beautiful, and Eric's attention to every small detail is unmatched. Even though we met under awful circumstances, I couldn't be more grateful to Eric and Jan for walking this road with us and making things just a little easier.
We would absolutely recommend Maher to anyone.

Obviously when we are going through the loss of a loved one, the LAST thing we should have to deal with or worry about is dealing with shady or incompetent people at the funeral home. The guys at Maher funeral home did such an amazing job helping our grieving family through the entire process and helped us organize a moving and truly classic wake, service and tribute that was so beautiful I know my Mom was looking down from heaven with a smile on her face. They were professional, caring and went above and beyond from beginning to end. Very reasonable cost and even added beautiful extra flowers that we didn't ask for at their own expense. They made this experience as easy and comforting as possible and really helped our family feel like we did our very best memorializing our loved one.

Our family is very grateful we found our way to Phillip Maher at Maher Funeral Home. Phillip, Uncle Bob, and the entire staff were so caring and compassionate in handling all the arrangements for the unexpected loss of our loved one. They went above and beyond to take care of every detail.
Everyone treated us as family and welcomed us to use their home as our own. Their home is bright, airy, and very comfortable. It had everything we could have possibly wanted.
We highly recommend these wonderful people and their beautiful facility to others in their time of need.

When the unexpected happens it's hard to even keep your own thoughts straight much less figuring out how to handle a funeral. After doing a few quick searches we met Phillip and toured the Maher Funeral Home. It was the old Tinley Park Library and our mother loved to read. I think it was meant to be because the kindness and compassion which is certainly needed during these tough times was just above and beyond from Phillip and the hard-working employees he has at the facility. I know that finding a place to say goodbye is difficult. And saying goodbye to our mother was by far the hardest thing I have had to deal with in my life to date. But Phillip and the Maher Funeral home went above and beyond for us and I cannot thank them enough for the kindness, compassion, and just the authenticity they provided to us.. I just can't say enough good things. Thank you again for making those dark days a little brighter. It's nice to know there are good people out there who want to do their best to make these tough times a little less hard. If you are thinking of a place to lay your loved one to rest I would urge you to talk to Phillip and team. Their kindness and generosity during a unexpected death brought me to tears of joy during a time I had only been crying due to the pain of the loss. Thank you again Phillip.

My father was a Veteran who passed away recently. I can’t say enough kind words about Mr. Maher and the Maher Funeral Home as they gave him a very respectful service, handled everything for him, brought me peace of mind in knowing he was well-cared for, and coordinated with the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery to give him the burial that our country’s servicemen and servicewomen deserve. I can think of no better place to take care of your loved ones that have passed. I am forever grateful.

I would highly recommend Phil Maher to anyone looking for funeral services. Our family has worked with the owner, Phil, twice in the last few years and are very thankful for his personalized care and attention to details. Phil is extremely respectful of the whole process and does everything he can to take care of all the little things that make an emotional situation go smoothly. It felt like having a family friend be there for you in a time of need.

Our family met Phil Maher on May 5th, 2016, the day after my dear daughter passed away.
Phil was favorably recommend to us by the family of a former teacher of his.
The inside of Maher Funeral Home had an open, light and airy feel with an understated elegance and sophistication that was truly uplifting.
During our time of need, Phil touched our hearts like family and cared for us like a dear friend.
We were comforted by his compassion and sensed that he was following a much deeper calling that went beyond just fulfilling his funeral director responsibilities.
We felt that Phil and the uplifting atmosphere at the funeral home had made our dear Bridget's spirit feel safe, well cared for and at peace. Our family will forever feel greatful to him and his staff.

We had our services for our grandmother here and it was nothing short of exceptional. The facility used to be the Tinley Park Library when I was a child and they kept some of that feel with all the bookshelves that line the walls. The staff was seemed extremely passionate about what they are doing and it really shows in the presentation of the home and the way they made my family and I feel. I would highly recommend having your services done here.

Amazing! Phil and Uncle Bob are so compassionate, patient and respectful. I hated to have to bury my dad, a World War II, but these two made it easy for the family, taking care of every little request and detail to make his services memorable. Way past the family's expectations. Thank you.

This place is really nice. I have been a resident of Tinley Park for 23 years and I think they use the space of the Former Tinley Park Public Library very well! The the class and attention to detail on the beautiful exterior is reflected and amplified in the interior with a great selection of American Novels and picture books placed on wooden book shelves serving to welcome curious visitors and remind them of the building's past life. Simply, it is elevate and family-friendly.
