Came here for the fish fry. Indeed the best fish fry I've ever had and it's a huge portion as well. On top of that, the people here are very friendly.

First time finding this hidden cafe yesterday. Southwestern wrap was very tasty and filling. Cuban sandwich while maybe not authentic was packed with meat, flavor, and a meal in itself. Chef Gene? takes pride in the quality and service. I'm definately going back again!

We found this gem by accident when visiting St Joseph Hospital in Elgin, the lunchtime sandwiches were fresh and a joy to look at.

First time trying the food and got myself an Italian Sub with potato wedges. Loved it will come back whenever I’m on break.

If you want Great home cooked food from Mom and Dad, this is it. Soups are outstanding, and if you are there any meat smoked or barbecue has to be award winning!

Went for the first time today to try their Fish Fry. Wow! The staff were so friendly, taking the time to explain their menu options, since I was new. The food was made fresh to order and was prepared so quickly! I came home and was thrilled with my beer battered haddock and the delicious tartar sauce. Honestly, the best fish fry I have ever had! Worth every dollar.

What can I say? I go in there for a soup and leave buying at least 50.00 worth of items. The food is outstanding. It is prepared fresh. I try different items from here and YUMMY!!!
Gene is an excellent chef and really cares for his patrons. I hope to frequent this establishment for a long time.

Gene and his team catered a holiday luncheon for work, everything was amazing.
Gene worked with me to make sure we had options for a couple people with dietary restrictions, even followed up a couple times to ask if certain items would be ok or should there be a substitute.
Quality, presentation, temp and taste were all perfect and extremely plentiful! I had zero concerns about having enough to feed everybody. Cannot wait to have a reason to work with Gene again.

We had their baked haddock with boiled potatoes. We also had their dozen fried shrimp and potatoe wedges. The food was excellent.

Always forget about this restaurant . Just wanted a sandwich for lunch. Roast beef on white with provolone. Good choice and the salad was fantastic also.

Chef Gene is a genius. The hand crafted sandwiches and homemade soups are fantastic. The portions are usually too much for one sitting which is fine with me because they are still delicious the next day. He smokes his own meats too which make for an incredible BBQ pulled pork sandwich.Treat yourself, you will not be sorry.
***Add - on*** After many years of eating here all I can say it’s it still top notch. Everything is so fresh, the soups are just amazing. I have taken many colleagues here and the response is alway amazement. Service is awesome, pricing is reasonable. Great place all around.

What took me so long to come here!! Family owned - upon entering you feel welcomed and the aroma of food . Had the fish fry dinner - was spot on delicious !! Also had the soup of day ( hats to the chef ) !! Even bought some take home frozen meals!! Can’t wait to come back and try more :)

I'm not one to gush about anything, but I'm gonna gush about the walleye fish fry we had tonight.
This was the best fish fry of my life. The fish was excellent and the light breading was perfect. The roasted potatoes and coleslaw equaled the fish.
Till tonight I've only raved about one other restaurant in my life, Thai town in south Elgin.
We're lucky to have restaurants of this quality in our area.
We'll be back !

Finally tried this spot, the haddock was delicious and the shrimp.
Huge pieces of shrimp. The potatoes are so yummy.
Then I tried getting the ribs but they sold out by 11am on Friday! Man and apparently it's a once a month thing. I will try next month LOL

Finally, got here and had the fish fry! Fish was lightly battered, moist, tender and very tasty. Garlic roasted potatoes and the parsley potatoes were fantastic. Coleslaw was just the way I like it. Will definitely be back

Amazing meatball soup! Sandwiches are fresh but not as amazing then my go-to favorite Italian deli I normally visit.

The food here is very , very good. I'll def be going back for more ! I'm looking forward to the pulled pork next time 😁

We catered for our family party on Christmas Eve for the first time. I found Culinary Fox Cafe & Catering online and thought we would give them a try. My husband picked the food up and was really impressed by their professionalism. We had ordered Spiral Ham, 2 Fried Turkeys, and some various side dishes. Everything looked and tasted amazing. My guests continuously made comments about how good everything was. Thank you Culinary Fox for making our lives so much easier on Christmas Eve!!! We will now be a long time customer of yours and plan on coming in for lunch some time soon!!!

The soups are absolutely divine - from their cream of Vandalia, clam chowder and wild mushroom, everything I've had has been so savory and perfectly seasoned. The roasted veggie focaccia is my favorite go-to. Everything is ready for pick up immediately after ordering. I definitely recommend!

We catered from Culinary Fox for my wedding shower back in July. It was DELICIOUS! The only feedback I would provide is that we actually ran out of food so make sure you order enough and that the breakfast sandwiches could have been cut in half to feed more people! Actually calling again right now to order brunch for our post-wedding celebration!
