Honda of Ames Service Center

After an oil change, I was having issues with my car shaking, pulling hard to the right, and my tire pressure light kept coming on. Unfortunately, I was also leaving on a trip and was unable to stop back in prior to leaving. Made for a not so fun drive…and honestly I was a little upset.

Upon returning, I called and took my CR-V back. They looked at it and fixed the problem without hesitation or charging me extra. The light has since been off and she drives like a champ!

There are things that happen, and yes I was upset. But customer service is everything and they took care of the problem when I called. I am very happy with the service I get at Honda of Ames and recommend them. Things happen and it’s understandable. They take care of their customers and are trustworthy and knowledgeable about your vehicle. Honest people and that’s important to me!

Got helped by the shop tech Alex, he was super kind and helpful, and the sales room people were very kind and helpful as well. Would absolutely return if im in the area and need service or a new vehicle. Thank for helping!!

I called the dealership when I had warning lights cycling through on my dash and the service dept was able to check the vehicle that afternoon. The initial diagnosis was ruled out and it was determined to be a problem with the fuel injector system. I had purchased the vehicle as certified used just a month before, so I did not have to pay anything out of pocket for the repairs. The service staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and let me know exactly what was happening. This is my first time having to take this car in for repairs, and I felt that it was a very positive service experience. Everyone that I gave talked with at this dealership has been extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.

You know, the shop does a very good job but this polling service is just inept. I have reviewed this appointment three times and still keep getting reminders. I will not respond to another email request.
The service is excellent, got my tires rotated and oil changed in under half an hour. I called them mid afternoon and they got me in at 8:00 AM the following morning.
This time I brought my car in to have a recall service performed. As usual, professional and quick.

Again, the dealership and the service deserve top marks, I could not recommend them higher.

Great experience, very friendly and welcoming. First time in for service and will absolutely return. I purchased my Honda Passport from Omaha because your shop didn’t have one available, but I will absolutely give you a chance to earn my business in the future.

I got my oil changed here and my tires rotated! Very easy to make my appointment online, got my car in right away and then got done in less then an hour. Only thing that surprised me was it costed more than it does at my normal Honda dealership back home for the work done. But very satisfied with the work they did!

Honda of Ames did a great job providing essential services to our Odyssey. They replaced the damaged catalytic converter, replaced brake pads, completed a coolant fluid flush, and a brake fluid flush. They also did an end to end vehicle inspection. The team at Honda of Ames were outstanding! They communicated well, did outstanding work, were honest and fair, and exceptionally helpful and kind. We will continue to use their service department for our vehicle needs.

The service department applied a protective coating to the outside of the car, which I had bought a few days before. They said it would take an hour and a half but it took about an hour. After that was done the sales person, Chris Will, showed me how to connect my phone to the car. Great service.

I had an issue with the bill, and lack of communication with the work performed. The service manager Mel addressed my concerns immediately,; his attention to customer service to me was more important than the actual work done to tge car, as they always do a good job. I’d recommend anyone that has an issue to speak to with Mel because he listens, and treats customers with fairness & respect.

Friendly, professional staff completed tires rotation, oil change, and starter replacement per agreement in a timely manner. Enjoy working with the staff at this particular location over other more local.

I had issues with slow responses with Mel on getting my radio replaced & finding out if my warranty would cover it. I tried working with him for 1 1/2 months since it wasn't an urgent replacement. Jeff stepped up and got it done within a week.

Honda staff are always helpful and take care of us every time we are in for service or the couple of major repairs we have had. Great place to go to purchase or maintenance on your vehicle.

Had a slow leak on a tire and wanted it checked before a trip. They squeezed it in amongst other appointments and didnt charge us because we bought our tires there. Very nice perk!

My experience was all good. The service person was more than helpful and the work was finished in the expected time. This was my first time taking my Passport to Honda of Ames - also the first time it was due for maintenance. I had bought it here in Marshalltown partly because I preferred a local dealer. Shortly after my purchase the dealer here closed. I went to Ames instead of a metro Des Moines dealer because it’s more convenient.

This was our first time with Honda of Ames, so they gave us a quick tour, and made us feel welcome, with comfortable seating and coffee while we waited. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Went to Honda of Ames for oil change tire rotation and filling brake fluid. They were professional and very helpful with service. I was given a time estimated on when my vehicle will be ready and there where on time with completion of service. Highly recommend Honda of Ames for any car service needs

The service was quick and painless. The pricing was upfront. I did have issues pop up later on soon after service, but they were quick to address it for free and within a day.

The shop does a good job and typically are not trying to upsell you. This is one of the reasons I have bought my last 2 cars at Honda of Ames. Honda is a durable and reliable car but it is important to have a service shop you can trust.

Car was professionally serviced. Employees were polite. Waiting area was clean, with coffee and water. Electrical outlets can be added for phone or computer charging.

My wife and I were half way into our weekend get-away trip when our Accord began running rough just after leaving a rest are north of Des Moines, IA. So, I got on my phone and looked up the nearest Honda service center and located one in Ames just down the road. We pulled in at around 9:30, it was on a Thursday morning. There was a very polite and professional gentleman working the service desk who empathised with our situation and talked to his garage mechanics and was able to fit us in to have it looked at. Shortly thereafter, we were given options and we chose to get the immediate fix. We had a spark plug replaced in #3 cylinder and we were able to continue on our journey northward. Thanks to your Ames service center and their efficiency, we were back on the road 1 1/2 hrs.later. My family awaiting our arrival in northern Minnesota couldn't believe how lucky we were getting in and out so quickly. Yes, we were able to arrive safely to our destination that evening as well as had no further incident on our trip. THANK YOU HONDA SERVICE CENTER OF AMES for such GREAT service!! I wish you were 5 hours closer so that I could keep you as our Honda service provider.
