Burritt on the Mountain

Went for the Wednesday Cocktails at The View. It's was a fantastic time with a great view. A table was reserved for $25, but it got a better and closer view. I'd highly recommend this for a fun and enjoyable date night. Drinks are about $10. Just your average selection, but be sure to reserve food the day before if you want food.
Overall, it was a great time and a memorable date night.

Wonderful place. A great view of Huntsville. One can easily see a rocket at the space center. All the staff we interacted with were so helpful..... especially Russ in the main house.

Very nice Museum, outdoor areas, and professional people all around. Nancy provided a wealth of information about everything we asked, please pass our thanks to her and the staff.

The view was amazing overlooking Huntsville. Was doing a self tour but started talking to a tour guide named Paul and a volunteer Nancy who turned the afternoon into such a remarkable and blessed visit. Highly recommend this place to go for anyone single, couples or families. The hands on experiences kids can receive and participate with each cabin was very impressive I will come back the next time I’m in AL.

It is a great place for special events with a nice view of Huntsville, especially at sunset.

This is a MUST visit attraction if you’re in Huntsville! It’s not only a small mansion tour but there is so much to do and see for both adults & children. The history is fascinating as the backyard holds a school house, church, animal farm, garden, and wood cabins from the gold mining days! The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and you can tell they truly enjoy the work they do in preserving this place’s history! My favorite part of the visit was being able to literally step inside the old wooden cabins and seeing the antique furniture displays!

After a few visits to Burritt this wedding season, I can safely say that it's a tough venue to beat for a classic outdoor wedding.The locations available for a ceremony vary widely and are all close enough for an easy stroll to the main building. As a photographer that range of options for my clients is a real advantage. The on-site staff that I've had interactions with have always been attentive and helpful, so I definitely look forward to my next visit.

The history packed into one place is just wonderful. We just happened to be there when they had tours for elementary age kids setup. I did my best to keep people out of the photos. The worker's dressed in period correct attire were very knowledgeable.

The views alone are worth the trip, but you will stay for the history and knowledge! Wonderful place for weddings, parties, any event that you want to be special! They have different things going on all of the time. There's also a great gift shop. The staff and volunteers throughout were knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and welcoming!!

Very beautiful historical site. There are several structures to see and explore. I definitely want to come back in the fall as there is a gorgeous view of Huntsville from the mountain! There are also hiking trails, but it's on a rather intense incline that might be difficult for some.

Great place to see some parts of history! They also have some hiking trails in the area from what I've seen some of them quite tough. The homes are nice, the views are spectacular. They even have some animals to see. If you're a Pokemon Go player there's like... 4 or 5 pokestops and 3 gyms. One's a little tough to access.

They're currently doing a thing on Woman's Suffrage, so if you wanba take your older kids to learn something, your younger kids to play and have fun.

I recommend bringing a nice camera, there are some fantastic photo opportunities.

Loved this historic mansion, its eclectic shape, the unconventionality of its owner, and the museum that is rich on the history of Monte Sano and the region. Very informative. There are hikes all around once you are done with the visit. Beautiful place too. Visited on November 27, 2021

This is a fun place to explore. We loved seeing how people lived before technology took over and the view couldn't be beat. We could see all of huntsville. If you haven't been here yet it's definitely worth checking out. I would say it's great for the whole family.

Great place to go and take the kids. They have really good historical buildings. I actually worked then and replaced the siding recectly. It already looked really good, and now looks much better. They also have tours you can take. They show you how everything was done back in the 1800s. Also having live animals to help preserve how people lived a few hundred years ago. Really good place and neat to visit.

A perfect ladies night! We had a fantastic evening. Great views and food! Sooooo beautiful there and can’t wait to go back!

The view alone is worth the journey to this beautiful venue in Northern Alabama. We were told many people get married here and it's clear why. The views are stunning and the surrounding area is equally beautiful. Bring the family and a camera. Many photo opportunities abound here.

This is a review for the Cocktails at the View event, which runs from May - October. The event is 5-8pm every Wednesday, and there is no admission charged. No outside food or drink are allowed, and snacks and drinks are available to purchase through the bars on the property. This is one of my absolute favorite events. The view is absolutely gorgeous, and the prices are not bad at all. The bars serve drinks such as wine, beer, and basic gin and tonic type cocktails, and there are little charcuterie boards and snack plates available as well. This is a great place to meet friends and hang out and enjoy the best view that Huntsville has to offer. I love the cocktails at the view event!

I had the pleasure of enjoying "Cocktails at the View" I had never been to this part of the mountain before, it is beautiful. The view is breathtaking. We lucked out as they had predicted rain, so not many people at all. They offer outdoor seating and covered seating for when it does rain.

What a great find. It's not too far outside of town and the history surrounding the house and its owner is very interesting. A must see if you are in the Huntsville area
