Marshall-DeKalb Electric Cooperative has the BEST employees and is so good to our community!! I just come back from the Youth Tour in Washington D.C. that the cooperative sponsors, and it was absolutely amazing and eye opening! I am so thankful for MDEC!!

I used this power company for 2 years when I moved to Boaz, AL for college. I’ve never had an issue until now. Since I have moved out of my apartment I’ve been waiting on my deposit check back. So I called to check on it… just to find out that they put the wrong street address. The address is on my driver’s license (they have it on file) and I spelled it out to the lady when she asked for my information. Poor communication. The lady told me it would take them 6 weeks to send me another check if the person doesn’t return it back! She was very silent on the phone and was not informing me about the situation until I asked. Post office can’t do anything either. So as a independent college student I’m not very happy.

After waiting several weeks, I decided to call again to see what else to do. I spoke with a very nice lady (Haley Crowden) and she set me right up. She informed me that the older lady did not inform anyone of the issues I was having. She immediately fixed my issue and spoke with the manager about the situation. Thank you Haley!! Highly recommend her!

staff is rarely friendly.
i have actually stood "in line" when there is no one in the lobby until the only girl NOT working on the computer got off her phone long enough to let me pay my bill....then gave me major attitude about it!!

I always love the smaller company atmosphere you usally get that more personal service , that alot people remember and cherish.

NOT a fan of the inside night deposit. Many do NOT like to get out, aren't able to get out. Why on earth would you put it inside????
I've heard from MANY that aren't happy with it

Every time I call that place for billing they never answer. I called 4 times today 2 times in the morning and 2 times afternoon. I finally had to just talk to that sweet lady operator. She helped but those younger girls needs to start doing their job and answering the phones.
