Excellent little bakery with delicious fresh baked goods. The owner was a delight to talk with as well. We ended up purchasing a few cupcakes for our airbnb guests and returned the next day to treat ourselves to fresh muffins bursting with real blueberries and house specialty of fresh flaky croissants.

Food: All together, my husband and I got two ham and cheese croissants, a cheese danish, a lemon blueberry scone, a brioche pesto goat cheese pocket, and a lemon raspberry macaron.

After coming home and heating up the ham and cheese croissants, my husband declared that we would be return customers because the croissant itself was delicious and pretty flaky.

I deeply enjoyed the lemon blueberry scone as it wasn’t overly sweet (BIG BIG plus from me) and they use real blueberries!! Loved the lemon taste as well. The glaze on top gave it the right amount of sweetness. I’ll definitely be back for the scone as well as the macaron.

The macaron wasn’t cloying sweet but just the right mix of lemon and raspberry flavor. Whatever they’re doing, they’re doing it perfectly with these two items.

If you love goat cheese, you’ll enjoy the goat cheese pocket. The owners definitely didn’t skimp on the goat cheese. I enjoy it a lot though when we come back next time, I’d want to try the other pockets.

COVID-related: I really appreciated the owners for masking up, which shows they care for their customer’s health, and will be back in part for that reason.

Environment: The owners were super friendly and FYI that their doggo Monty comes out to greet you. We did a grab and go but I do recall seeing seating.

Other things to know: there is a parking lot in the back and ample street parking. We went at 8 a.m. this morning (Monday) and it wasn’t busy so we were able to get in and out with no issues.

All in all, we’ll be return customers!

Update 1/30/21: Return customer update! This pregnant mama went again this morning for croissants and macarons. Everything we’ve had so far is delicious. Husband and I heated up our respective croissants at 250 degrees for about 12 minutes and our croissants were warm and crispy. We also each ate a macaron and BOY are they genuinely good. We used to live in New York City and both of us were like, this is “gourmet quality good.” PS: If you’re parking in the back lot, watch for Monty the dog as you drive. He’ll basically welcome you from your car to the front of the store— it’s really cute.

I pretend like I’m going there for lunch, but let’s face it, I’m really going to get more macrons! All the flavors are delightful!
The sandwiches are great too! And now they have cocoa bombs for your hot chocolate.

Driven past the bakery many times. Finally in no big hurry so my wife and I stopped in. So glad we did. Great simple hot brew coffee for me and wife likes ice coffee with multiple ingredients.... Bakery selection should please most people and the goods we tried were delicious. Small dining area was clean, wonderful fresh bakery aroma filled the air and very friendly lady behind the counter. You can observe the staff working away in the background. All pastry and baked goods in the glass display look fresh and tempting. We will be back soon!!!!

Absolutely amazing! As soon as you walk in you can smell all the delicious baked goods 🤤 There is a great variety of both sweet and savory options, and staff is super friendly. It was my first time there, and they were so patient & helpful as I took awhile to make my decision. I ended up getting a dozen macarons, which are absolutely DIVINE 😍😍 Highly suggest going if you are in the area. Support local 💙

I have ordered through them from Door dash. Worth every penny. Their breakfast items are tasty and priced well.
My food is packaged well, and arrived warm still. I have dabbled in their pastries (a dangerous game for me) and have enjoyed them as well. I have not had a bad experience here and look forward to visiting the store to see all they have to offer.
Keep up the good work!

The cupcakes and cookies are great, but the unexpected treat was the Pizza Roll. It looks like a cinnamon bun, but with pizza ingredients and it my favorite thing on the menu. The new retail space is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and excited about telling us about this new business. Its a must to stop here if you're in downtown Howell.

The issues noted by a previous customer appear to have been taken care of -- no problem with well-grilled, hot sandwiches. The cappucinos are now more European style with foam spooned on top (yum!). Owner says he plans to offer them in Italian-style china cups soon. The butternut squash soup with goat cheese bits was a pleasant surprise -- really tasty. Nice to have some gluten-free items available, all from scratch. I'll be watching for their Valentine offerings.

This little shop has a chef who has what it takes. My first visit, today, was most satisfactory. I tried the country ham croissant with a cup of Black Dog coffee. The sandwich was so good, it made me sad to finish it. DELICIOUS!!!

Today was our first time visiting M Street and certainly won't be our last! What a charming place filled with so many fresh baked options it was hard to choose. Christine is absolutely AMAZING! She was beyond kind and just as sweet as goodies they sell!

This is a great new (well new at the time of this review) bakery that not only has sweets and breads but a large amount of home made sandwiches and soups.

Have driven by many times, today had a chance to stop in. Yummy apricot scones and bacon cheddar scones. They serve Black Dog cofee, excellent! Will be back!

I bought a frozen Chicken Pesto Power Pocket at Black Dog coffeehouse. It was frozen and I put it in the microwave the next day and it was as fresh as if I had bought it that day (vacuum packed). Yum! Dough was thick and homemade, chicken pesto tasty.

M Street Bakery recently catered a reception for me and 20 guests. The food was a hit! Everyone raved about both the sweet and savory items. It was a pleasure working with Marshall and the rest of the bakery staff. Thank you M Street!

Their chocolate crescents are like no other. The rasberry danish was flaky and and full of flavor. Definitely a go to for pastries.

First time going to this bakery we got the lavender matcha macaroons. Litterally the best macaroons I’ve ever had. Great service and everything looks so good. Thank you
