Mellina Animal Hospital

Dr. Willis is amazing, you can tell he has a genuine love for this line of work and all of his patients. Care is a bit on the pricier side, but so is everything else in Fort Worth. Only big qualm is that it’s a bit difficult to get a phone call through, but the receptionists do a fantastic job otherwise.

I’ve been going to Mellina since I moved back to TX in 2021, and after 20 years of taking my dogs to different vets, I can confidently say that Mellina Animal Hospital is just the best of the best. I never feel like they’re upcharging or upselling me, and they’re so gentle and affectionate with my two crazy dogs. On top of that, I’ve had other very random animal-related emergencies come up — a dying squirrel, I kid you not, and then today, they went above and beyond to help me with a very injured stray dog that I found. Everyone in the office is nothing but friendly and compassionate in what I know has to be a stressful job, and I’m thankful that I found them and can trust them with my own girls.

Euthanasia services are above and beyond!

We had to part with two furbabies in 1 week, and the staff and physician were absolutely wonderful in our unimaginable time of grief.

Out difficulties were met with immeasurable grace and understanding.

Thank you to Smoke Rise for their care of our babies' remains and the presentation of the keepsake box and paw print. Everything was so beautifully designed.

We are blessed we were able to take advantage of these services.

Dr. Willis and staff recently saved Grace’s life. He kept me abreast on a daily basis of her progress. I’ve couldn’t of asked for a better veterinarian. I highly recommend Dr. Willis and Mellina Hospital.

Great lady with a great heart, she took in some pinky opposums I rescued on the road where others would have put them down and they are doing well as seen by her updates.

Mellina hospital was so amazing. I was adopting a foster kitty, and just asked Universe for everything to go smoothly. Long story short, they did a great job in a time crunch and I’m a proud Mama again.

Had to put a cat down that we found on the street. Cat was so sweet. The Doctor was so nice and she seemed genuinely sad. They were able to see us immediately and while we did have to wait a little while for the doctor they had a little warming blanket set up for the cat and a nice little place for us to say our goodbye's to our new-found friend.

These people really care about your fur babies and will do everything they can to give them the best care possible!

I love bringing my dog to Mellina Animal Hospital! I got a puppy recently and am a brand new dog mom, so I had a ton of questions. Dr. Mellina is so patient to explain everything and answer all of my questions. He does a great job at giving you all the information so you can make the best decisions for your pet. The staff is great, and love my dog! My puppy was sick one day and they were able to fit him in the same day to get him checked out. I really like that the business is family owned and operated, and they welcome their customers into that atmosphere. I have recommended Dr. Mellina to all of my friends who have gotten dogs recently!

Editing 5 years later to emphasize that everything just got better! Our pup has gone to Mellina Animal Hospital his whole life and I can't imagine there being any better vet out there. They really care about our dog, as was clear when we had a scare and rushed him in for an emergency visit and the tech was ready and waiting out front to take him in. Dr. Willis always makes an effort to check on our dog and call us to make sure all is good with him, even when he just comes in for a shot. I always had no doubt that they would give him the absolute best care along with a heaping does of love and attention (which he craves!). We are moving away and we wish we could take the whole Mellina team with us, our pup will miss them for sure!

WOW! What a fantastic vet. Every single person who works at this office truly cares about the animals and their owners. My dog couldn't be happier to go to the vet (really - he starts bouncing off the car's walls with joy when he realizes where he's going). They are always quick, thorough, knowledgeable, and friendly. My dog is known by name and greeted by everyone as soon as we walk in. The hours are fantastic and it is easy to get your pet in the same day if there is a problem. I know my dog is in good hands and I also feel very respected. The cost is very reasonable, especially for the level of care and attention your pet gets. Highly recommend!

If your fur baby is sick then this is the place to take them. The whole staff is amazing and all of their vets are top notch. We've seen Dr. Willis mostly and the care and devotion he shows us is why we go here!

We used Mellina for three years while we lived in Fort Worth and they took great care of our two dogs at a very reasonable price. Appointments were always easy to get and the care was excellent. Sadly we moved and now we have to try and find a new vet that can match Mellina's care.

I repeatedly tell people that this is the best veterinary clinic we’ve ever dealt with. Dr Mellina and Dr Willis are both top notch doctors that care more about the health of their patients (our 2 kitties) than enriching themselves. The doctors always consult with us before engaging in any treatment and they are never rushed - they take their time to explain things and answer all our questions. Their prices are very fair and they are flexible and will always work with us on treatments that make sense for our kitties and for us.
Highly, highly recommend! Would give them 6 stars if we could!

I can't say enough good things about Dr Mellina and his staff. They worked us into the schedule on the same morning that I called, Dr. Mellina was so kind and knowledgeable. He really took the time to learn more about and help my 10 year old Great Pyrenees and he patiently explained the details of my puppers treatment to me, which was much appreciated. His staff was welcoming and efficient. All around great experience. I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Thank you for taking such great care of us!

I take all my fur babies to Dr. Mellina. I first met Dr. Mellina when I lived in Fort Worth- I moved about 3 years ago to Downtown Dallas, but I make the drive to Fort Worth to see Dr. Mellina with my Chihuahua- It takes half a day and I have to take half a day off work, and I don't care. I am grateful to have a FAMILY vet like Dr. Mellina.

When we first moved to Dallas I called about 25 places in the area and their are no family vet offices - just big business vets with like 8 doctors.
Gross...I don't want my dog seeing a different vet each time.

I take my Chihuahua to Dr. Mellina and its him every time - he knows her - he loves her - he cares and he is emotionally invested in her wellbeing.

I LOVE Dr. Mellina and the other doctors. The staff is friendly, caring and knowledgeable. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats. My oldest cat is 18 1/2 years old and she would not have made it this long with out Dr. Mellina's caring and expertise. My oldest dog is 14 and needs very special attention due to her EXTREME fear of the vet. They handle all of my very specific requests with grace and compassion. I couldn't recommend them more.

If i could, I would give Mellina Animal Hospital 10 stars! The staff are all very friendly and caring to clients' fur babies. Dr. Mellina also provides amazing care and follow up - he's even checked up on my cat after hours on the weekend. I am truly grateful to have found a vet clinic that cares so much about their clients' pets

This was our first time into Dr. Mellina’s practice. My cat had worms and the entire process of checking him in, getting him examined, giving him a shot, and paying took a total of 20-30 minutes at a very reasonable price. Dr. Mellina was super down to earth and answered all our questions patiently. I was really happy with all aspects of the experience.
