My mother-in-law passed away recently (1/18/24) and Waltrip was our top choice for handling all the funeral arrangements. We had also buried my father-in-law with them three years ago and were aware of how professionally and smoothly they handled all the details... this time was no exception! Steve, Elizabeth, Amy and Clarissa are so passionate about the jobs they do - it felt like they were our own caring family helping us during a very emotional time. Thank you all for caring for our mom in her passing as much as we loved her in life!

My mother passed on January 3rd. She was laid to rest on January 6. Elizabeth, Stephen, and Amy were attentive, responsive, patient, courteous, professional, and exhibited genuine compassion for I and my family during a very difficult time. Dignity indeed. Every detail was explained to us. Mom's service at Waltrip was flawless. Words cannot express my gratitude. Based upon my experience, I would strongly (emphasis on strongly) recommend Waltrip Funeral Directors, when the time comes.

My family have depended on this company since they started out as Heights Funeral Home decades ago. They have walked us through the burial of 3 generations with both grace and compassion. Elizabeth Gallegos, the manager, went out of her way to make sure everything went smoothly and we felt loved during this emotional time. Highly recommend!

My cousin had her funeral all planned and pre-paid. She had previously dealt with Winthrop with her father, mother and brother so Steve Yancey and Elizabeth Gallegos knew her and what she wanted for her funeral. They made the final arrangements easy and a pleasant experience working with them both. Everything at the Visitation and Funeral went smoothly and the staff was great and sincerely caring.

The staff at Waltrip Funeral Directors are the most kind and compassionate people! From the Manager, Elizabeth Gallegos, to the Funeral Assistant, Stephen Yancey, to the Administrative Assistant, Amy, all whom we dealt with in our time of grief were amazing! They assisted us with everything we needed to ensure my mother's funeral was beautiful and represented her as she was - a great lady. They even made her look 20 years younger at the viewing! It was a beautiful service and I would highly recommend the staff here at Waltrip for any of your family's funeral needs.

When my mother passed away March 25, 2023, I was at a loss not knowing what needed to be done. I will be forever grateful to Steve Yancey and Elizabeth Gallegos who literally walked me through every step. Everything that needed to be done was patiently explained to me and a detailed list of prices was included in their brochure so there were no surprises or the embarrassment of having to ask how much everything would cost. They explained what was needed and what could be done without. They never made me feel bad about having to stick to a budget even at this important event. Whenever I had a question, I never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for a callback. After mom’s funeral, both Steve and Elizabeth checked up on me to see how I was doing and to encourage me to drop by in the future just to say hi. The best part was that they made you feel like they really cared. No problem was too large or small. I will be forever grateful to them and I do plan to drop by just to say hello!

I am deeply grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to me by Steve, Elizabeth and Amy. From the time that I walked through the front door, they created a calming and caring experience during the most difficult time in my life. Steve and Elizabeth took the time to get to know me and to help me make plans for my sweet husband. We talked so much about our family and our times together. They encouraged me to share stories about my husband so that they too could celebrate his life and find joy while sharing the memories. They will forever be in my heart.

Elizabeth and her staff were so kind and companionate and made this difficult time for us much easier. They made my dad's funeral service so personal and such a perfect tribute to him and his life. We will never forget it. Thank you for everything.

Professional mannerisms but above that, they were so graciously accepting of any last minute changes I needed. They also answered all my questions with compassion and empathy. Good people who make a time as hard as this that much more bearable.

My mother had made all of her arrangements and prepaid prior to her death which made everything much easier for me. Waltrip Funeral Directors, especially Steve Yancey and Elizabeth Gallegos had everything prepared in a nice presentation for me when I arrived for some final details. Elizabeth waalked me through all of the final steps and nevr once pressured me to make final payment. Everything for the viewing and visitation was arranged exactly as we had discussed. Steve called me the morning after the funeral just to chat and make sure everything was okay.

My mother really, really looked great and the professionalism and care that was bestowed upon me and my family was unforgettable.
