If you are looking for a down to earth and relaxing place to stay I highly recommend the Sassy springs retreat! We only spent one night here as a quick stop between states, but we could not have been happier that we picked this place on a whim. The owners did a great job with the decor and are incredibly friendly. It was great to chat with them and hear all about their adventures of building this great setup. Everything was extremely clean and they were very generous. Our two girls had a blast exploring the area and meeting the owners children, who were also wonderful!

My husband and I had a great time at Sassy Springs! I forgot to leave a review on Airbnb but wanted to make sure to share my experience! We stayed in a yurt and it was awesome. The campgrounds have lights strung up that make it feel more magical. The staff that works there is also awesome and definitely make us want to go back. I went into the common area looking to hangout with some people and I met Kris who is an absolute riot and convinced me to try some pickle vodka. Let me tell you, that stuff was the bomb. Her son also brought down his entire TV and game console down so we could play together. We ended up forgetting to play but just the fact they go out of there way so much to make it fun is worth mentioning. Definitely recommend staying here and mingling with the folks who work and live on the property. They had me laughing so hard my gut hurt! We will definitely be back, sooner rather than later!

My friends and I had a all girl trip and stayed two nights at the green camper. We loved everything about the camp. The beds were super comfortable and the rustic feel of the place just added so much to the stay. We got to hang out with the maintenance guys and they were awesome. Would totally recommend for anyone who wants a nice escape and spend some time away from everyday life.

Absolutely the best campground ever. The owners are friendly, fun, and have children who love to help out guests and love to play with kids. The ambiance is without a doubt comfortable and enchanting, nestled on beautiful property. The belle tents are amazing, come with a/c and heat, are thoughtfully decorated and stylish. While the primitive camping spots are beautiful and spacious. There's a HUGE barn they converted into a community center equipped with a full kitchen, coffee station, free wi/fi work station (and wifi throughout alot of the campground). Also, a livingroom with a nice TV and dvd player, and a wonderful and cozy wood chip natural fire stove. But. The bathrooms are the best. Not only is everything clean and stocked all the time but the tubs are trough tubs with endless hotwater just in case you want to soak after a hike to the any of the waterfalls nearby. Definitely go see Old Stone Fort and find your way to the greatest fishing/swimming hole ever. There are 6 of the top 10 waterfalls in the state of TN within 30 min to 2 hour drive - depending which one you're visiting. Not to mention, the campsite has a nice sized pond with free kayaking, a community firepit, smoking area, people who enjoy life and laughter, and some of the best hikers and travelers coming through. They welcome your pets just as much as they do their guests! Even my pain in the rear German Shepherd 6 month old puppy 🙄. I couldn't love this place more! If you go once, you'll go again. We visited Rock Island, Fall Creek Falls, Old Stone Fort, and Cummins Falls while we were there. It's the perfect getaway to reconnect with nature and find some peace and positivity.

We had a great stay at Sassy Springs! Cory and Desiree do a wonderful job with the resort and treat all their guests like family! The tents were clean and cool and the property was clean, easy to navigate. There was no trash on site. The chickens are hilarious and the bathrooms are cleaned daily. Great little getaway from the real world in our own backyard. We will be back again!

This is a beautiful retreat in a lovely area right in Tennessee. Spacious and cozy, with comfortable beds in Tents, nice common kitchen area, and cozy sitting area with work stations

The Couple are incredible. They were very accommodating and very quick to respond with any questions and also flexible with check-in and check-out time, which was extremely helpful.

Not to forget the clean showers.

The place was very clean and had all of the necessities for a confortable stay. The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does in the pictures.

Definitely highly recommended!

We had a great time staying here! My Husband didn’t really even want to go and now he is already planning a trip back. The owners make you feel at home. I loved that we could sit at our camp site and see the kids playing on the playground, swing and in the community center. There are also several beautiful waterfalls and trails to hike nearby.

Okay, for starters...my wife and I, from Louisiana, decided to give this place a try since they are within a hour to 1.5 hours of 7 of Tennessees top waterfalls. I was skeptical at first, just because the idea of glamping with community restrooms, showers, and community centers wasnt my idea of what vacation should sound like.

However, I was very wrong. The location, itself, is beautifully nestled in a large valley of farmland with mountains in the distance. Upon arrival, we went through their own driveway leading to their house with nice trees covering the driveway and a pond in the front yard. You can fish and kayak, free of charge, in this pond. (They will sell bait or you can bring your own.) I brought my own artificial and caught 3 small bass.

At the backside of the house is the office, marked clearly on entry. I checked in, was shown on my map where my tent was, and found it easily. It wasnt a far walk at all to pack our bags, etc.

The first thing you'll see is the community center completed with a kitchen, TV, Wifi, games for kids and toys for young children, cookware, coffee pots, etc. The center itself is a large farm-style garage converted. Outside of it is a very nice chicken coop with egg producing hens. (Eggs are free and kept in fridge in center). The fridge can be used freely, with notes to guest to please not use other guest food and items in fridge. Wifi password is on fridge. Outside of the center is a smoker and a small charcoal grill to use as needed. Guest hospitality is the goal, and guest need to have a semblance of respect for each other. We encountered no issues with this and have even eaten with guest who cooked their own family meals.

Facing the community center from the road, you park on the right, in the rocks. Vehicles facing right, that is. To the left is 2 hookups for RVs. There is a trampoline and swing set in the large field to the right of the center. Also, at the far end, is a trail that leads through the woods to the pond mentioned before.

The current set up (without future work being done by the host) is basically a loop with a fishhook trail at top of loop leading deeper into the woods. At the end of that trail, I assume is one of the parked stationary campers. I didnt go that deep as my tent was in the right corner of the woods. There are, from what I could see, 4 primitive camping locations. 2 on trails of their own, in the big field. 2 on the main loop.

The glamping (pre existing) yurts are better than I imagined. Christmas lights line the yurts inside, providing light. Yes, they have electricity. There is also AC. My tent was one of the family ones, with 2 big beds and a little one. It came with a window unit (AC) and fan. There was a large power strip with plenty of plug ins. There was a small shoe rack also.
Outside of my tent was a large front wooden deck. Off the deck is a steel ring to light a fire. Firewood can be bought or scavenged. We scavenged the first day on arrival. The 3rd day it rained so I bought a bag of wood for 10$. Probably enough wood for 2 fires if used sparingly.

The trails around all the tents, at night, are lit well. You can see clearly at night. My other worry, was the bathrooms, but the 2 bathrooms are actually awesome. The door is built as an old farm style door and latch locks. A large cattle trough acts as the tub. Towels and rags are provided, but bring your own. A few times, especially late at night, families have already wiped the towels or rags out. Bring your own and of course, your own shower stuff. It's nice not to have to worry about towels or rags.

The host were incredible people and I admire the attention they put into this place. You can tell it took a lot of work and lots of dreams, and stress, lol. Their kids were great and played with my son, age 6. The place is so good, my wife and I are considering an attempt to do a family visit in 2 months. I highly recommend this place, and would like to say thanks to the host for having us. Hoping we might do this again, at least yearly or so.

We went to a wedding here today and I must say it was the perfect venue for weddings and after parties. Reception was so nice. The host are very friendly and extremely helpful. Venue was very clean and organized. I will definately keep this campground in mind to recommend to all my friends and family.

The pictures give you a small hint of how very adorable this place is. It was nice to have the tents and other sites all spaced out so you didn’t feel crowded. The barn was fantastic to grab a cup of coffee, play some games or use the kitchen (when your equipment was in the other car that had not arrived yet).

The details are all there and Tim was often on the property carrying guests equipment to their site, refreshing to restrooms or plugging in the lights. He and the owners (whom we only communicated with on the phone) were friendly and accommodating.

There were other guests that were present who seemed to be very “high maintenance “ and they handled them with patience and grace.

We caught (and released) close to 20 fish in the lake and our teens loved hanging out in the hammocks.

We loved the place so much, we are hoping to return in a few months with several other family members to make a group event.

If you need a great place to stay, like camping but aren’t a fan of sleeping on the ground, rent one of their air conditioned tents or the adorable SkyView camper where you can see the stars through the clear roof.

Highly recommend! Thank you Sassy Springs for a fantastic mini vacation!

The best retreat we have ever stayed at! They have thought of everything, board games, bathrooms, kitchen, stove, fridge and a/c! The bed in our baby bell yurt was so comfortable and the a/c kept the yurt the perfect temperature! We had enough room for my husband, myself and my 12 year old twins comfortablely. The owners are so down to earth and nice as well!

This place is amazing! Everything was clean and the owners are awesome! Bring dish soap and hand soap. They provide towels and washcloths to shower with but you need to bring dishtowels for the kitchen. The bells are air conditioned which was nice on 90° days. There was hand sanitizer too. All the guest were cool. We had the best neighbors while we were there. We got to see 3 waterfalls that were about a 20 min drive I recommend twin falls at rock island state park. It's an easy walk for people with children. Steep steps but not bad going down. You can't swim at this waterfall but there is a swimming area at the park. Foster falls was a very cool waterfall that pored into a swimming hole but the path was very rocky and steep. It was hard on the 5 year old, the 11 year old did well but it was kinda scary.
