Charanda Authentic Mexican Eatery

I have just found the finest Mexican Restaurant in the area. Very glad I decided to try this place.
Very prompt and friendly service. Excellent food and atmosphere. I really liked the Mole sauce sweet and spicy - best I’ve had on the east coast (right up there with the Mole served at Lula Cocina Mexicana in Santa Monica, CA). They have a 97 sanitation score - impressive. This place is legit!

Menu is extensive so there’s something for everyone. Prices are a bit higher than other Mexican restaurants in the area however staff is very friendly and dining area is very clean. Margaritas are wonderful and definitely not watered down.

We came on a Sunday after church, there wasn't much activity but we sat on the patio and were the only ones out there. Giovanna or "Gio" took great care of us and the food was excellent. I had quesadilla with peppers, onion, and tomatoes, the torilla was crisp and buttery and chicken was juicy and full of flavor. My mom had shrimp and scallop fajitas and it was excellent. I got to go food for my family that couldn't come and they said it was delicious, steak burrito (which my husband said was "freaking amazing")and the kids chicken tender quesadillas that they consumed without a fuss and asking for more. We will certainly be back, Gio was very attentive and sweet, would highly recommend her.

This is a perfect place to come and have great food and drinks with family and friends. It's an authentic cuisine. The food is always very good and portions generous. This establishment had a unique and very bright decor with traditional vibes throughout. It's always clean and smells of delicious fajitas. It has a wonderful staff who make sure your needs are met. They offer a smile when you walk in and are very friendly. It's one of my favorite places to go for Mexican food with my family. My recommendation is the fajitas or if unsure what to try just as for the whole enchilada. They offer free chips and salsa which is very good as well. Enjoy!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is excellent, i.e., fresh, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is nice. We have visited other Mexican restaurants in the Charlotte area, but this place is A+! You will not regret eating here. The prices are slightly high, but the quality makes it worth every penny.

Oh man! (And this is with much excitement!)
As we all know, most places are understaffed, BUT, given that, the manager and servers were able to navigate as a team to make sure we were served in timely matter. Our drinks came quickly (considering amount of people they had to attend to), food took a little bit longer but I promise, SOOO WORTH your wait!
I forget the name of the dish (it was topped off with cactus), it was the one you can split between 2 (even 3 depending on your appetite), so delish! Meat cooked just the right temperature among with seafood.
Give this place an absolute shot and patience in case they are slightly understaffed.

Very good food and very clean restrooms. I recommend them every time you want food Mexican food. Only thing that was not good, was the Flan. I'm sorry.

Delicious food!!! I had the chips with queso (and salsa of course) and the Pollo Con Crema dinner entree and everything was perfect!!! Big portions. Great service. We will definitely be back!

We went here for a date night out and I really enjoyed the margarita I ordered. Probably the best one I've gotten at a restaurant. The food was really good too and the homemade hot sauce was great and spicy. The tortilla chips and salsa was really good too. I ordered some fajitas and my fiance ordered a quesadilla. We both thought it was really good and tasted really fresh.

Very large dish w steak, Chicken, shrimp, pastor, rice, peppers, onions, pinto beans lettuce sour cream it is fantastic! Also I want to point out their food safety rating of 99.5 Congratulations Charanda! There are many high dollar restaurants that have extremely poor ratings we do NOT want to get sick from eating out and will not dine if rating is under 92. And we will not return unless rating is 94 or above. To find an affordable Mexican restaurant serving great food with high ratings is a place worth trying. We have and will continue to eat at Charanda in Sunvalley across from movies as long as they keep serving good hot food with high food safety ratings.

Me and my coworkers went for lunch. Food took a little bit to come out but there was a big party. The queso dip with chorizo was really good. I had the Pollo fondido and it was really good. The server took good care of us. She kept our drinks full and checked on us often.

I arrived for a late lunch, it was empty. I ordered a lunch combo, burrito and a taco...all beef, my standard for judging a Mexican restaurant. They brought out hit chips and really good salsa. I also asked for salsa verde, which I assume was freshly made as it took a while and it was AMAZING!!!! By far the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot!

The burrito and taco were very good as were my two sides, the Charo beans and guac salad.

Will definitely be coming back!!

Good food! Ok price. We got some lunch specialties, to go, and they were great. We went back again!

I had the Pollo Fundido (lunch version). The food was delicious. The service was great and checked on me often. Chips and salsa were on my table within a few minutes and the meal came out very timely.

Very laid back nice atmosphere. Can get rushes sometimes but that's to be expected somewhere that is serving goodfood right? Not to expensive for dinner for 2 with just soft drinks, though the drinks are not too shabby at all. My recommended dinner for anyone not to adventurous in exploring the Mexican cuisine is to get the chicken fajitas. They also can be steak or shrimp or combo if u like. It comes sizzling and steaming almost to the point u think you are supposed to take over cooking it at your table lol. comes with 3 flour or tortilla shells and a condiment boat. Boat has beans,cheese,sour cream,guacamole,rice.

Our family loves this place both for takeout and dine-in!! They are very sweet and accommodating, and the food is consistently top notch. Some of the best Mexican in Charlotte.

We have eaten here many times. . We tried a different dish than normal and really loved it. It was lalito’s cochinita pibil. Loved it service was outstanding

Our first time here. We were very satisfied and we will be back!! Very reasonable prices, great service, generous portions, can't say enough good things.
