A busy place is always a sign of good things, and it proved true here. I haven't seen a take a number service store since I left NY in 1980. The system was then and still is a great way to keep your customers moving forward.
Four of us were there, and we tried each other's orders, and they all were outstanding.

Absolutely love visiting Albemarle Sweet Shop when needing something sweet or a birthday item. The clown cookies are the best known sweet shop item, but everything in the counter is amazing! Every year, for my daughters birthday, I was get a Pup Cake. It’s become a tradition and we can never leave without some other goodie. Definitely recommend Albemarle Sweet Shop

My son decided last minute he wanted a soccer birthday cake. I called the shop at 230 and was told the cake would be ready by 4! It was beyond expectations!!! Their customer service was wonderful. The cake was so good. My son said it’s the best cake he’s ever had. We also got the cheerwine custard pie and it was yummy too! The shop was beautiful and they had so many things to choose from!

I have been a 10+ year customer of this place. Everything USED to be awesome. Now every time I go in there the clown cookies are always burnt! This was my favorite item at this place and the past 5 times I have went it has been disappointing. Every clown cookie I have gotten has been BURNT. I love the icing and the softness of these cookies but how can I enjoy it when it’s like eating a brick covered in icing. This is totally unacceptable and this is the reason that myself and my whole family will stop shopping here from this point on. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Another note to this is that the dark skinned lady is always rude to me and when asking about why they have been burnt she makes rude remarks back. Will not return, this place has gone very down hill.

Best Ever! If you haven't been you are missing out! The taste of their sweet treats are something no other bakery has! Perfection is on point with anything you purchase here!

This little gem is hidden in downtown albemarle. I understand it's been here awhile. I bought a cheerwine custard. It is delicious! Who knew there was such a thing! We also bought a regular egg custard , 2 danishes and a piece of cake. They have very good cake and I'm not a big cake fan so that says a lot. Very friendly ladies working there.

Took my daughters ice cream cake in at the last minute and they were happy to write on it for me. To top it off they didn't even charge for it. THANK YOU GUYS. You guys are amazing.

Great new location for a Stanly County staple! Always great treats and wonderful people. A definite stop for us whenever we're in town. Can't wait to see what else is in store for the new location.

This is a staple....lemon n blackberry jacks, DELICIOUS!!! I live n VA....everything I come to ALBEMARLE.. I stop n for thos bakery!!! They moved on me...but I found them....hubby loves the sticky bun with nuts!!!!

So many years in business and still very popular and I drive 30 miles to visit!

Only thing is get there early because they may sell out of your top choices before you get there

What a neat local piece of history! Stopped by on my birthday for a strawberry custard pie and was NOT disappointed! I also grabbed a cherry turnover to try out and was so pleased that it wasn't syrupy sweet, it still has just a little bit of tartness from the cherries and that just seems really hard to find anymore.

I have been eating Sweet Shop goodies since I was a child. And this Christmas they did not disappoint! They have a wonderful variety and the folks that work there are awesome!!!!

I've been going here over 50 years. It's the same now as it was when I was a boy. The new location is very nice.

The Clown cookies are awesome. They seem to have a very high attention to detail.
