I ordered an 8oz Cappuccino with lots of froth, reg milk for in-house and they delivered! The froth was stiff and perfect, the coffee itself was bitter but sweet(?) Good though, a satisfying type of bitter/sweet. I loved it.
I then ordered their seasonal Chai Cider w/ Oat Milk and it was SO GOOD!! The baristas strutted their stuff with this gem! The oat milk had such a creamy froth I thought it was regular milk for a sec!
Once you get inside it’s wonderful, though the parking is…limited. I got lucky but there are only 4(?) designated spots and with seemingly strict towing for the surround business. I recommend parking elsewhere and walking, highly worth it in my opinion!

By far the best coffee shop of NC, quite possibly the best on the east coast. I've been to a lot of places and this one for over 18 years has only gotten better and yet the coffee tastes exactly the same as the first time. Amazing people, atmosphere , and a hub for all things culture in Boone.

I will drive 45 minutes from the trail head, past so many starbucks and smaller coffee establishments, all for espresso news.

Oh yeah. Try the muffins ...

Excellent white chocolate mocha, mocha and a drip coffee. All were great, only to be out done by the best ever banana bread. Great, friendly efficient service. Nice atmosphere. Finding the place. and parking con be challenging.

I have been a long time fan of ENews and used to go quite a bit when I was a student at App. Went back today while visiting and they still have the best coffee! I always get an iced white mocha so I can only speak for that - it’s fantastic and I highly recommend it. I also think the prices are so good compared to other coffee shops! I got a large iced coffee with sugar free caramel syrup for my sister before I left for only $3.50. The coffee shop has perfect “Boone vibes” but parking is limited (I parked on king street and paid for parking $1 an hour M-F). I sat upstairs while enjoying my coffee, but I did notice they had a bunch of fans running up there and it was warm. Thankfully when I visited there was a nice cool breeze in town so it didn’t bother me. I may be biased due to good memories, but I will definitely be back before my vacation is over.

Hands down best coffee shop I've ever been to. I'm an experienced coffee drinker and have been to so many coffee shops from coast to coast. The flavor of the roast, the coffee shop atmosphere, and the friendly staff made this coffee shop a must! If I am ever traveling through again I will def. Stop!

Espresso News is a hidden gem!! Today I visited for the first time and they served up the best mocha latte I've  had in a long time, maybe ever.  Much better than the national chain that I am happily divorcing myself from.  Their bakery item selection looked so delicious that I wanted to try one of each.  Nice atmosphere and professional staff.  I can't wait to go back!

Espresso News is the kind of coffee shop you’d expect to find in a coming-of-age movie. Their staff are always kind and quick with service, they play some great tunes, and you have two floors of indoor seating to choose from while you wait for your order. Oh, and if you’re looking for recommendations, I’d suggest their iced mochas 😉

We came to Boone for a quick day trip, and this place was on my partner’s to-do list. This was a little hole-in-the-wall type place, hidden between a few buildings. As soon as we walked in, the barista, greeted us with a huge smile. The cozy decor of the place made us feel as if we were in a small cabin. We ordered a few drinks and the espresso ☕ had just the right amount of boldness. We went into the upstairs lounge where we hung around for some time. A 10/10 experience, and we will for sure be back next time we visit 😊

Great coffee place here in Boone, close to App State but also 15 mins from nearly all the local mountain getaways. Barista was super friendly and accommodated my special requests. Espresso was delicious, will return on our next trip.

I love this place! For starters the coffee is delicious (personally recommend the iced dirty Chai latte) and you can't beat it. More importantly, the employees are so kind and do such an excellent job! Give e-news all of your support because they ABSOLUTELY deserve it.

Great place to work or meet up with friends on campus. The baristas are very friendly and take the time to get to know their customers. Having lunch options like fresh soup is very convenient too.

Very cute space with a very friendly staff that was quick and offered me so many options to choose from. I had a delicious savory scone and a lavender oat latte that truly made my morning! I of course also picked up a cute sticker from y’all too! Thank you, I will definitely be returning next time I’m in Boone!

As someone who drinks coffee pretty much everyday, during my time visiting Boone I had to visit Espresso News. The café itself is nicely kept and spacious (however there was no indoor seating, due to Covid), and offered a nice, friendly atmosphere. In terms of offerings, they had the regular espresso offerings as well as some interesting ones, including espresso with tonic water (if I recall correctly). The barista was very nice and knew what he was talking about, and offered patience as I asked questions about methodology and offerings. They do have dairy milk alternatives, I chose oatmilk as mine. They also have several different flavoring syrups, to which I had salted caramel, and it was delicious. The barista drew a cute "milk man" in my latte (as he called it), and I will definitely visit again if I find myself in Boone once more.
