Simple, but good Mexican food. Lake Waccamaw is a seasonal town, so it wasn't busy at all. I almost wasn't sure they were open.
The chips were great, the salsa could have been hotter (they did have a "gringo" salsa and a hot, but it wasn't that hot).
I had a quesadilla with steak, which was delicious!

Upon entering the establishment. I was right away. Brought back to one of my favorite places in New Mexico. An authentic Mexican cantina with all the proper decor. However, there was a little bit of Halloween festivities happening with the giant scary clown that affected my atmosphere rating a little lol. Plenty of room and the seating was comfortable and spacious. Not really jammed up on top of another customer. The weight staff was excellent, and got my highest tip on her that I give. We were served by three people. And the one young lady was very attentive. It came to our table many times to make sure that we were enjoying our meal or we're not in need of anything. The food was excellent and there was a lot of variety. Actually a little too much in my opinion. But all of the meals did allow me to find a dietary need meal that meant with some of my food allergies that I have. So I try not to be too hard on them for the size of their menu. But there is a lot. It was plenty of food on the plates and the service where you're given is very nice and big. All in all I did not give it a full five stars on all levels but I did give it a five-star. Overall. I would definitely go back. My daughter and I plan on returning and sharing one of their fajita deals that they give a break up price. If you do. A two for one. Enjoy your meal at El Jauns

The food was as good as i could ask for while staying on the lake for the week. I get worried sometimes of the quality when it's a small town area. I didn't have to here. Food was fantastic. Tableside made guac was fantastic. I definitely suggest it. Thank you for a great meal!

Nice, clean and airy dining room. We were seated right away, and had our drinks within minutes. The chips and salsa were fresh, and our entrees were outstanding. Our waiter was fantastic!
The soup, tacos, and other entrees were super delicious and made with the freshest ingredients. We will be back!

I order from here all the time as I live in the area. Great food and service. I also work in the industry as a manager of another restaurant, so just remember this. If a server is rude or inattentive perhaps he/she is a bad server or maybe new. If your food is late, how busy is it? Hiring is tough right now and new people will make mistakes but they are doing their best. Enjoy the food! :)

I went to lunch here for first time in September with my mother-in-love and toddler. Since then, I have gone on date night with my husband once and again with my whole family within months time. The food and atmosphere is refreshingly authentic.

Stopped for lunch after a visit to Galloway farms. Restaurant was clean and the service top notch. The chips and salsa were very fresh and the queso was delicious. My hubs and I preferred the lightly spicier salsa. All the food was came out rather quickly and again was delicious. We got burgers for kids, chicken fajitas, steak salad and pollo tropical. Too full for dessert but perhaps next time. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

BEST ENCHILADAS I’ve ever had. Stopped here on our way from Southport to Charlotte and WOW so glad we did. Environment is friendly and staff are very nice, food came quick and SO delicious. I got the roqueta enchiladas, amazing, delicious, and I was sad when I got to the end of my meal. Absolutely delicious. Great portion size for the price!
