Mountain View Motorcycle Campground

Great campground that has become my go-to motorcycle destination in the mountains. The hosts are the nicest people, bunkhouse, cabins, and showers are always spotless (linens and towels provided!), and a shop on-site if you have a mechanical issue. The yellow table in the bunkhouse is the gathering place at night to talk about the days ride among new and old friends. A+

If you are looking for a fantastic campground to spend a day or a full week at and this is it. Nestled in the hills of Avery County, North Carolina, close to days and days of fantastic riding whether you are on dirt, street or both, This is the place to go. Some of the best hosts that are out there in the motorcycling world. Have formed many lifelong relationships just by visiting this place with like-minded individuals who like to ride hard and have a cold beer after the day is done and trade war stories. Best atmosphere of any motorcycle campground out there. Highly recommend to anyone in the Adventure, dual sport, hiking or street riding crowd. Amazing multiple local restaurants in the area and a little nightlife if desired with fantastic food and beverage on tap. Best part is they have the most friendly, well-trained dogs I have ever encountered. These pups are instantly fans of anybody that comes to Mountain View. Stop in just to say Hi or just to get some good knowledge on local roads to ride. 10 out of 10 recommend

A real gem for motorcycle lovers! Bunkhouse, cabins, and plenty of room for tents...hammock stands available as well! Hot showers in beautifully appointed bathrooms. Microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, couch, table and chairs located in riders lounge. Fire pits everywhere! Janine and Mark are very gracious hosts.
They offer training events that are world-class too! Totally awesome trails and plenty of winding mountain roads. You won't be disappointed!

A must stay for motorcycle travelers. The owners are great people. It's a Friendly safe place to setup a tent or rent a cabin. Great views all around.

My mom and I went on a girl's trip together and just stumbled on this place during our planning. It was absolutely the best part of the trip. It is a very social place that encourages hanging out and meeting other riders. The owners were kind, welcoming, and also hung out at the bunk house. We had the 2 bed primitive cabin. It's solar powered and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Everything was absolutely spotless, and we had covered parking. Because the owners ride, they really set everything up to make your stay awesome. We will definitely be making this an annual trip!

Incredibly welcoming hosts and a wonderful place to camp, ride, and hang out with like minded individuals. They've got secluded tent sites as well as nice little cozy cabins and a bunk house in the well equipped garage. Will definitely be back!

My New Favorite! Just returned from a great overnight with hosts Mark and Janine and have nothing but enthusiastically positive things to say about them and this campground. First, the hosts are "some of the nicest people." Yeah, yeah, people often say that in reviews, but it's really true here. They obviously love running this campground and will go waaaay out of their way to make you feel welcome- I sure did. The facilities are 10/10 in condition and amenities. Every little touch has been thought out in advance and put into place. It's super clean and feels new. The other guests I met were on many different kinds and makes of bikes (adventure and street) and an interesting eclectic group of folks. I enjoyed meeting everyone. There were no rowdies and everyone was respectful of one another. When I first arrived, Janine took me around to show me the place, including a very short walk up to a sweet camp spot (see photos) where I setup for the night. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here.

What an experience! Such a laid back place to meet new people and see breathtaking views!! The owners were fabulous and treated us like family. The facilities were spotless. We will definitely be coming back.

Another perfect stay at Mountain View. The hosts and location make this my hands down favorite in the region for times when I want to get away and either get in some alone time or make new friends with other riders/campers.

my new home away from home! Mark and Janine are outstanding hosts. i guarantee you the bunk beds are more comfortable than your bed at home.

Here for the The Gathering of the Goats #2. Mark and Janine are great hosts and local guides. We opted for double occupancy cottage which was clean,. comfortable, and warm. Must visit destination for motorcycle enthusiast.

I came back twice in the same week. This is a very nice and warm place. Mark and Janine make you feel at home since the beginning. I definitely will become a regular visitor.

Can’t say enough about the hospitality of Mark and his wonderful wife. If you get a chance to visit them, please do, you won’t be disappointed I promise. I had a chance to go thru his entry level adventure rider class and I learned a lot about how to better control my fat 1290 SAR. The next day my body was hurting in places you don’t talk about. But I feel way more confident now in slow speed maneuvers balancing the bike on unstable ground. The bunk house is spotless! I will definitely be back!

The owners Mark and Janine are excellent host and I highly recommend them. This is a very clean and comfortable camp. The solo cabins are awesome as well as the other facilities. They really go out of there way to help. The view's are awesome and location is a perfect base camp for exploring the area.

Great people found it by chance one day. Loved it , such kind and gracious people. Later on the way back ,we decided to come back to them again. Mark just by chance had a tire for my friends bike that he really needed. He made him a deal and mounted and balanced and installed. Just good people come see them enjoy the rides.

Loved this place. Great people and perfect little motorcycle hut. Came up there we to other friends and all had a great time. Slept int the bunks and they have everything you need.

This was a bucket list trip for me. Riding in the mountains was amazing. The owners went above and beyond for us the whole weekend. Highly recommend this campground for any motorcycle travels.
