Rocky Springs Historical Site

I absolutely adore this historic church. My friend and I were lucky enough to attend the shadows of rocky springs guided tour of the church and cemetery recently and had a great time. We even got to meet a lady who was born at rocky springs. The friends of rocky springs have been restoring the cemetery repairing broken headstones and such so please help them financially with their noble projects.

The church is pretty photogenic along with the cemetary. The remains of the ghost town isn't much, but a 10 minute walk has some interesting sites and ruins of the old town. There's information signs along the trail that tells you more about the history of the town as well as what you're looking at.
At one time, there was a talking box that told you about the church. It's been removed though (Insert sad face here).

Interesting stop along the Natchez Trace. Lots of signage about the once town of Rocky Springs.. The church is beautiful.

Pretty interesting definitely worth a stop

Excellent place to camp even with no electric, water or cell service. Beautiful area.

Dit was een hele interessante stop. Je moet wel even zoeken. Het is namelijk een kampeerplek, dus die moet je helemaal op rijden en aan het eind kun je wandelen naar 1 van de overgebleven kerken en de begraafplaats. Verder is er ook nog een korte wandeling langs wat plekken waar ooit huizen van betekenis hebben gestaan.
Verder zijn er veel informatieborden waardoor je een goed beeld krijgt van wat er ooit is geweest. Erg interessant.
