Camped here in a 37 ft 5th wheel. Site 16 was a pull thru. It was level but still tricky to get into because of trees. Water and electric is located on patio side of camper and sewer is on back side. They told us entire campground will be closing soon to do complete renovation. Will be interesting to see the improvements. Very beautiful park.
Park has many things to do. Pickle ball courts, splash pad, disc golf, hiking trails, camp store. People in office are very helpful and friendly. Exceeded our expectations.

I've visited twice for geocaching events and have had great experiences. The staff is very helpful and cares quite a lot about the park. The same goes for the Friends of Clarkco, who are continuously working to improve the park. The facilities were all clean, the trails were of nice variety, and all around the park felt very well cared for. Definitely a family place, as there were kids having a good time all around. Definitely would recommend a visit

Such a pretty and quite place. The cabin was a little outdated but was fine for us. We stayed in #10. It was on the water which was so nice. It had 1 bedroom with 2 double beds and another double bed at on end of the living room. Lots and lots of windows, which I love. We will definitely be going back.

This is a nice gem! Beautiful lake, spacious camping spaces on the water. Fire rings & warm bath houses. Clean restrooms. Offers fishing, hiking, kids park. If ever I pass this way I would stay again. Friendly kind staff. Five stars!

Always a fun time. Every other year, our family goes for reunion. Such a beautiful place! The lake is beautiful! Only issue is how loud it is there, and what I mean is that you can hear someone talking normally from the other side of the lake. This place has high quality everything. The mattresses, cabins, big cabins, nature. But as it is with nature, watch for tics, snakes and bugs. Although they aren't too common, you never know. Just a fantastic place overall and I'd rather it 10/10. So fantastic and nostalgic. To the government, PLEASE SUPPORT CLARKCO!

Beautiful park, really nice, fully equipped cabin with a functional fireplace. There are very many well maintained hiking trails, the view is awesome, and we are truly enjoying the peace and tranquility here. This has been the best camping experience we have had at any state park in Mississippi The facilities here are very well maintained and the park employees are friendly. If you haven't visited Clarkco State Park, you should put this on your bucket list. We will be back!

We had a great day at the state park, with a BBQ by the lake followed by kayaking. The natural beauty of the park was breathtaking, and we enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended for a day of outdoor fun and relaxation.

Very nicely laid out park. The 13miles of trails are clean and very well marked. Plenty of information and maps at the office that has very friendly staff. The playground and splash pad looks to be a hit with kids. The RV areas looks nice, but cramped and saw quite a few people having issues backing into them. The primitive camping is just that. A few tables and fire rings. A bit closer to the RVs than I'd like to have been. Watch out for a few of the trees that are dead or partially dead. I saw a few fallen limbs that I'm glad my tent wasn't under when they fell.
Overall, I'll definitely be back to this park in the fall or summer for a swim in the lake.

We stayed in the new TENTRR campsites. We had the best time. We fished, hiked, played, and spent quality family time together! Can’t wait to go back! PS, I stayed at Clarko almost 40 years ago with my grandparents in their camper. I have such fond memories of those times. I loved sharing it with my boys!

5 stars for hiking trails. The camper spot pads need to be upgraded. This is true of many camper parks. All said this is a beautiful park and we enjoyed our stay here. Very nice staff. We did learn during our visit that they are improving the camper sites! So happy to hear this!

A fabulous, beautiful, well kept place to enjoy!

The cabin and the park in general is top notch.
The staff is super knowledgeable and super friendly. Very helpful and seemed genuinely interested in us enjoying our stay.
The cabin was immaculate. Nothing was broken. Everything was clean and in order.
The lake is beautiful. Many hiking trails that are well kept and easy to navigate. I wanted to play some disc golf. They rent discs if you want to give it a try.
We will definitely be going back!

Beautiful state park. Trails are sort of maintained, but still very nice and pretty. It is also pretty busy there, particularly in the center of the park.

We loved it! Some of the sites had really high pads, so be careful how you back your camper in. Not weedy or snaky at all. Beautiful view of the water. Separate swim area for the campsites, but there's also a public beach. Bath houses were closed due to pandemic, but the laundry room was open. Great walking trails that were also well-kept

Beneath the watchful pines of Quitman, where the air is thick with the scent of ancient earth, lies a place of sublime natural splendor, a verdant oasis that whispers tales of the primordial and the sublime. Clarko State Park, a jewel nestled in the heart of Mississippi, beckons the weary traveler with its siren call, promising respite within its emerald embrace.

As one traverses the winding paths, the very soul of the forest seems to stir, its secrets veiled in the shadowy dance of leaves. The lake, a mirror to the heavens, reflects the eternal ballet of the cosmos, while the creatures of the wood keep their silent vigil, guardians of this hallowed realm.

The cabins, standing as monuments to rustic serenity, offer sanctuary to those seeking solace from the cacophony of the mundane. Here, one may commune with the spirits of nature, their voices echoing in the rustling boughs and the gentle lapping of water against the shore.

In the stillness of dawn, when the mist clings to the earth like a lover's embrace, the park reveals its true majesty, a tableau painted with the hues of the divine. And as the sun sets, painting the sky with the colors of fire and blood, one cannot help but feel a connection to something greater, a thread woven into the very fabric of existence.

Clarko State Park, with its ethereal beauty and otherworldly charm, earns a celestial five stars, a testament to its power to enchant and bewilder, to offer a glimpse into the profound mysteries of the natural world.

Great primitive camping spots available. Spigget by PC entry too. Picnic tables in great shape. We didn't use grill, but one is available. Great hiking. Beautiful location and very well maintained. Really enjoyed this park.

Great place that is nice and secluded. Not the best reception for our cell phones (ATT) but that is okay. Clean restrooms. Pad was a little uneven but easily overcame that with the trailer jacks.

If you're looking for a space of calm and nature, Clarkco State Park is a well managed haven just outside of Meridian, MS. While my family thoroughly enjoys the splash pad during the summer months, it's our recent cabin stay that prompted my review. A little rustic but clean and well maintained, the cabins offer A/C, a small kitchenette and
cable (sadly no WIFI) as well as beautiful views across the lake. We were able to kayak, fish and grill! There are also numerous primitive sites to pitch a tent, RV hook-ups and hiking. A must-do if you're local or passing through!

Young children may have difficulty on the trails. Be prepared to carry out if necessary. The trails were beautiful.
