Planco Veterinary Care

Thank you Dr. Planco for taking the time to see my dog Duke today in an emergency situation. Your staff got us in right away (thanks Lori) and took such good care of Duke. Ashleigh and Dr. Planco’s son were very attentive as well.
Dr. Planco took the time to show me the X-rays and explained things in detail after ruling out other possible causes. I will be referring this office to my family and friends. Thanks again!

Dr Planco took great care of our Boxers and our dogs love him and his office staff. Our youngest dog actually gets excited about going to the office even if it is just to pick up his Monthly Preventive Meds. He knows that he gets treats at the vets office and gets attention from new people to him. While our older dog is just not fond of going to the vets office, he does tolerate Dr Planco and enjoys the treats and attention from the staff.
We are now thinking about getting another pup and hopefully she will enjoy going to the vets office as much as our older boys. But we will know soon enough if we decide to get another pup and if she is going to be a happy patient just like our boys are.
Their prices are average for the area but on the lower end the spectrum but you get top level care from Dr Planco. Our dogs old vet had retired a few years before and our dogs loved her but she was expensive but well worth it since the dogs loved her and would get excited about going. Unfortunately we have not had much luck finding a new vet since our dogs did not care for the vet that took over the practice. We tried a few other vets and were not very happy with the care and pricing but our dogs did not care for the new vets and then we found Dr Planco and the boys enjoy going to the vets office again. Thanks to Dr Planco and staff.

My dog is notoriously the most difficult dog you will ever met. We went to a vet recommended from the shelter and the vet was dismissive and essentially told me that my dog was not treatable. Our dog trainer (Peaceful Dog Training) recommended Dr. Planco and it was the BEST decision I made for him.

The whole staff knows my dog and works around his needs. My dog also comes with a whole host of medical issues and they have been with us every step of the way. I can call and talk to anyone on staff and they know who we are, my dogs history and needs, and get us whatever we need in a timely fashion.

Last week we discovered my dog has diabetes. Injections are a difficult maneuver, given his attitude. Dr. Planco and his whole team were so patient with the both of us when we both freaked out about this. Alex even offered to go above and beyond to help us get my dog’s injections in twice a day. The kindness and professionalism made all the difference to us in a really difficult time.

Don’t look anywhere else - Dr. Planco is the best vet in town and his team is amazing. You and your fur baby won’t be disappointed!

So far so good. I've had a couple of visits with Dr. Planco now caring for my geriatric dog. He's thorough in his exams, and patiently explains his diagnosis/treatment plan while answering questions. His son assists him in the exam room and they both are clearly animal lovers and very kind/sweet to my dog. I trust Dr. Planco's assessment regarding care and he seems to very genuinely care about the animals in his practice. He comes across as very honest and sincere. Also, when he gave my dog an injection recently, I noticed he aspirated the needle. I've recently learned how that's important to avoid blood clots leading to strokes. He pushed the medicine slowly too, maybe so it wouldn't burn too much going in or for other medical reasons. I appreciated that.

Dr. Planco has cared for two of our family pets. He always treated them with love and compassion. He is so knowledgable and professional and the clinic is always clean and the staff friendly. I also admire that Planco Veterinary Care is dedicated to the community and has supported local charities. I would definitely recommend them for anyone who truly wants the best for their pets.

Dr Planco, Alex and Lori together with their wonderful staff are the only people we would trust to look after our dog.

She recently had to have emergency surgery and they looked after her so well she made a complete and speedy recovery.

It goes to show how great they are when our dog gets excited and is eager to see them the minute we enter the premises. She can’t wait for the loving welcome they all spoil her with when they see her!

Our boy, Othello, was diagnosed with Lymphoma in May of this year and we were initially told by another vet office that he only had 1 month to live. We were then referred by a friend to Dr. Planco's office, and it was the best decision we could have made. Othello is deaf and has a very bad temperament, yet Dr. Planco and his staff always handled him with the utmost caution and care. Today, Othello had his last chemo treatment and he is doing absolutely amazing being 4 months post diagnosis.

Dr. Planco is very thoughtful, never dismissive of a concern, and he is very good at his chosen career path. The staff have the best customer service, they respond very quickly when you call with a concern, and they are very accommodating with scheduling appointments. Unlike other vet offices, we always felt very safe and comfortable coming here. We cant thank this office enough for giving us more time with our boy, and we hope and pray that Othello has a long remission moving forward.

Dr. Planco has taken phenomenal care of my 12 years young rescue dog Miley (German Shepherd/lab mix) & 13 years young cat, Grace, for their entire lives. It’s always convenient to get an appointment and Doc’s bedside manner with my animals (and their people!) is calm and reassuring. Dr. Planco’s office staff is fantastic and has been incredibly easy to work with and helpful - especially navigating my pets’ special needs during Covid. Dr. Planco’s son Alex is also excellent! He checks in to follow up on Miley and Grace frequently, and, if you’re lucky enough to find him available - he’s the best pet sitter money can buy! Thank you Planco family for keeping Miley and Grace healthy into their old age!

Dr. Planco is the most compassionate, kind veterinarian I know. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. He would make house calls for my elderly mother when she could no longer bring bring her large dog yo the office. Mrs. Planco and all their staff are a pleasure. They truly love what they do.

Dr. Planco has always been very caring and wonderful with our dogs and cats. It is worth the extra $ to have him come to your house for the euthanasia of an older animal...much less stress for your pet. He and his staff are wonderful.

I have been taking my fur babies to Dr Planco for over 11 years. I have one cat who has always had health issues. Dr Planco is so kind and gentle with Gia. He even came to his office in the middle of the night because she was sick. I would never trust any of my babies with any other Doctor. Dr Planco has been a blessing to us.

Back in 2006, we found Dr. Planco. Prior to finding him, we didn’t trust anyone in the area and drove to Ocala every time our dog or cat needed a vet. Dr. Planco has done house calls for end of life care, he has helped for two years with a pet who was in kidney failure, he has helped with special dietary issues for dogs and cats, helped with annual checkups/vaccinations, provided necessary surgery, and the list goes on. Just recently our rescued pittie mix was acting very strange. Lori took my call and kept me calm as she helped find out what was going on. She stayed on the phone with me while she got info from Dr. Planco. Dr. Planco called me back as soon as he was no longer with another patient and answered every question and offered solutions. He was willing for me to call him later that evening if anything else came up and offered to have me come in the next day if needed. He was offering this even though there is social distancing in place and we are all trying to stay home during the pandemic. I can’t thank him, Lori, Alex, and the rest of his staff enough for ALWAYS being there for us. He and his staff are caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and their veterinary practice is the ONLY place we will go to for our fur babies. We have referred many of our friends here and every one of them has been so thankful to find Dr. Planco.

Dr. Planco performed surgery on our sweet boy a few days ago and the care he provided was incredible! Both he and his office staff treated our baby like their own child and went through extra lengths to make sure my family and I felt comfortable, safe, and understood each step of the procedure. Besides being excellent professionals the office is also filled with just good hearted people

We've trusted Dr. Planco with our dogs and cats since 2006. He has helped us through everything with our pets and we can't thank him enough for the care he's given us and them. He puts the animals first! His knowledge and expertise is only surpassed by his compassion towards the animals he cares for. Dr. Mark Planco is very thoughtful and thorough with all his services. The staff at Planco Veterinary Care are friendly and the clinic is always very clean and up to date with modern technology. I have been very please with the top notch service and vet care I have received for my pets.

Dr. Planco is one of the very few outstanding Vets out there in my opinion. I have experience with vets in three states over 30 years, and he is the best, in every way. No BS, no marketing, just a top notch practitioner who really cares, and loves his work. We travel one hour each way to see him, and wouldn't consider any other Vet.

Dr. Mark and the entire staff at Planco Veterinary are among the most caring and compassionate in the area. Have always received exceptional care for my cats; those no longer with me and now my new addition. I would never go anywhere else.
