Boca Raton Nature Reserve

It doubles as a workout trail and nature preserve. There are stretching stations along with various outdoor workouts. The trail is about 1-1.5 miles long around. The paths are laid with mulch and there is a beautiful forest to surround you. There aren’t many spiderwebs but if you venture off the path you’ll find very peaceful and virtually private spots in the trees. There’s nobody there at Dawn and the early morning and few people visit to walk their dogs and explore throughout the day. At the entrance there is a board highlighting information about the trail along with a map. The maintenance crew leave you alone and do their job without harassing visitors. They also come a couple times a day alone or with a partner. There’s also an opening by the canal where you can park multiple cars but this appears to be a service entrance. Overall a wonderful location!

Lindo

This is a bit of a hidden park. There is no parking for this park. Next door is Loggers’ Run Park Nature Preserve which has lots of parking and a bathroom. It’s a short walk but with a piece of private property between these two parks. Going there Google Maps only had the park location as the middle of the Reserve. We drove past the reserve twice before we figured out that there isn’t a parking area. We parked across the street but would park at Loggers Run Preserve  next time.

There are three (or four) entrances into the reserve. I think the main entrance is on the corner of West Palmetto Park Road and Ponderosa Road. There are also two other places where a trail starts both on the West Palmetto Park Road.

If I want to run a couple of miles (1-3), I would give this park 5 Stars. If I lived very close to the park, I would give it 5 Stars. But without a parking lot or bathrooms, I can only give it 4 Stars. It’s a great place for a walk or run. It’s also mostly in the shade making it a great place to visit on a hot sunny day.

Nice Nature Reserve. There are 2 trails which add up to about 1 Mile. There are Stretching and Exercise Stations throughout. The trail is well maintained but the problem I had is that the mulch that is used is of the wood chip variety and therefore is not for anyone with knee or foot issues.
