We thought this place was great since we were here to visit Colonial Williamsburg. Perfect location. Breakfast was nicely spread out and had lots of options, including almond milk for coffee and gluten free bread, bagel, and muffin options. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a king suite and enjoyed the extra space to spread out, work at the desk, and little kitchenette (separate sink, microwave, and mini fridge). I also appreciated the nice shower products. We had no issues at all!

This was our first time staying on a property inside of Colonial Williamsburg itself. The rooms were clean, roomy, and had nice amenities. We will absolutely be staying with Woodlands again! Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating, which is really important for me, as I am disabled. This hotel, and especially the staff, will make your stay memorable. I can't thank everyone there enough!

This hotel was the perfect place for us and the dogs. Free daily breakfast with a couple of options and good coffee, right next to the visitor's center where you can catch the shuttle, and amazing customer service. Rooms are a little dated but still have everything you need. Shoutout to Jennifer from the front desk and Thaddeus- your kindness, professionalism, and customer service were just amazing.

Although this is an older hotel, it's been well maintained and is clean. Staff were super friendly, and they accept pets so we could have our dog with us. The bus picks up from the Visitor Center, which is at the hotel and we got two complimentary passes to Colonial Williamsburg! We stayed a couple of days before Christmas and had a lot of fun. We will definitely stay here again.

This is our first time staying at the Colonial Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites and we are very well pleased. The hotel and setting are lovely and very convenient to the shuttle service. Our room was very large, comfortable and had adequate storage for all of our clothes. The complementary breakfast is nice and all of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great resort and very convenient.

My mom and I stayed here for a night and thought it was a lovely experience. Quiet, comfortable beds, and a great continental breakfast in the morning with a bounty of delicious coffee. The rooms are dated (which I personally kind of love with old hotels because it feels like a time warp) but they’re nicely decorated and extremely clean. It’s also walking distance to colonial Williamsburg. My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi wasn’t great in our part of the building. Didn’t matter too much for us and our needs, but it’s worth mentioning. I’ll absolutely be back for another visit!

My daughter and I have been here twice and will always stay here when visiting Williamsburg. The hotel area is lovely. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable and reasonably priced.

Everything about my visit was great. My favorite thing about this establishment, is there continental breakfast which is included as part of your stay. Definitely lots more food choices than I ever could have imagined at a continental breakfast. And that's enough to make me want to go back there to stay again.

Pros -
1. Location. You are right at the visitor center. If you're coming to visit Colonial williamsburg, you can't get any closer. This alone makes this hotel the best choice if you're visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Our kids loved the giant model of Williamsburg. We spent a lot of time there.
2. Kids activities. Kids loved the huge pool. Little kids would love the splash pad. It's a nice set up. We played mini golf one night and kids enjoyed that. The play ground is teeny tiny.
3. Room was clean and bathroom is big.
4. The property is huge and attached to the visitor center. We enjoyed just walking around and checking out all the buildings.
5. The employees are great! Every person we talked to was exceptionally friendly.
Cons- (None were real issues and don't change our love for this hotel)
1. We stayed Friday to Monday. 2 bus tours pulled in Sunday night. Monday breakfast was a mess. We went down to breakfast at 730 each morning. Saturday and Sunday there were lots of other families eating but we had no trouble finding a table. Monday morning!!!! There were NO tables. The tours over loaded the breakfast. We ended up sitting outside (in the rain.) Luckily there are 2 tables with big enough umbrellas to keep the seats dry. Unfortunately, they took all the seats and all the food. There was no issue with food the other mornings. But today, there was more food put out and less food left. We didn't have any issues, but anyone coming down after us might have. Just be aware that staying on a Monday does not guarantee less people.
2. The bathroom ceiling was peeling off. Not really an issue but definitely unsightly.
3. Full sized beds are just too small. They need to upgrade to queen sized beds.
4. Some of the ice makers and soda machines didn't work. We were on the 3rd floor and had a hard time finding an ice maker that worked. There were either no vending in some areas, or they weren't working in others. We had to go down to front desk to buy a soda there.

If coming back to CW, I'd definitely stay here again. People complaining about kids, chose to come to the hotel with the best kids set up during CW homeschool month so yeah, there's going to be a lot of kids. That being said, we didn't see many other families at all. Most other people were older adults 50s+. Which worked out nice for us because the kid activities were never busy. Families with small children I would 100% recommend Woodlands.

BREAKFAST CHOICES
Each day there was bread, bagels, muffins with 2 rolling toasters. There were packages muffins (chocolate, blueberry, and banana nut) milk cartons (which as homeschoolers our kids find fun!) There was also oj and apple juice available. Hot breakfast choices Canadian bacon egg and cheese croissant, Canadian bacon egg and cheese biscuit (unedible) a spicy chorizo egg and cheese pop over, and a bacon egg and cheese burrito. These were not all offered each day it changed daily. They were prepackaged and heated. All of them were eh. Nothing I would be excited to eat again. But free is free. There was also lots of fresh fruit each day. And an oatmeal bar. The breakfast was fine and everyone found something to eat.

Great experience! This hotel is a little dated which I definitely don't mind especially when I'm at Colonial Williamsburg. It is probably one of the cleanest hotels I have ever been to. Staff was very friendly. There are so many activities for kids to keep them entertained. The continental breakfast was more that adequate, especially for the hotel price. There were tins of bagels, breads, muffins, sausage/egg/cheese biscuits, along with cereal, boiled eggs and fruits. Did not have time to experience the pools and splash pad bur they looked really nice. Wonderful stay, will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay and we’re incredibly impressed with Woodlands. We stopped by Colonial Williamsburg and realized we needed more time here so got a room. Everyone was so friendly from the people working the front desk to housekeepers and staff working the breakfast. They all were great! Gym is impressive for a hotel gym, full equipment including heavy weights. The room was nice and clean. The beds were a bit harder than I expected but I still slept great. Breakfast set up is awesome, they have it spread out in three sections so even when busy there was no line. Two coffee areas as well. Pool was nice and seemed well maintained and clean. They must clean it often since outdoor but I didn’t see anything in the water. Then there is tons of bonus things to do. We did the mini golf but they also had air hockey, ping pong, cornhole and activities and games planned for families, plus it’s right there at Colonial Williamsburg. Bonus we got two tickets to Colonial Williamsburg with the room!! One night is not enough time here, you definitely need to plan at least a few days here. I can’t wait for our next visit here. Wonderful hotel with a fun friendly environment. I highly recommend staying here!!

This was a wonderful experience, especially if you have children. They plan activities and even hire live entertainment (magician) for their guests. Hightly recommend staying here. Rooms really, really clean and staff nice.

I really enjoyed my recent stay here. The staff are all very kind and helpful. We stayed in a suite and it was huge! Plenty of room and the room itself was also very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast, everyone working during that time were also very kind and quick to keep things stocked and cleaned up. I only wish we had more time here to enjoy the amenities. The pool and splash pad looked awesome! Also regret not trying mini golf but hope to come back to try all of those things. Great location within walking distance to Visitors Center.

Nice vibe, polite staff. Rooms are dated-but then it is what you expect in Colonial Williamsburg. Room included breakfast-coffee was good, staff was running like crazy but could not keep up. Outside dining area was very nice. Pool was big and clean. Kids splash park was a true hit. Husband was trying to get some work done and the Wi-fi was too slow-but it is vacation and he got done what he had to.

Great location. My only complaint is the lack of exterior lighting. It is really dark on the grounds around the hotel.

We absolutely loved our room here. It was clean and spacious. I love how it was set up and how quiet our floor was.
Our girl's had a great time at the pool, splash pad, the games available and even the gym. Everyone working here was just so nice and helpful. Everything here was so clean, warm and inviting. The breakfast was also wonderful with a nice selection of different things for everyone.
We didn't wanted to leave at all. We enjoyed ourselves so very much. Definitely a hotel and place to visit again and recommendation to our family and friends.
The shuttle to downtown right around the corner was so convenient as well.
