Econo Lodge Historic Area

Reasonably priced for a Saturday night in this area! The gentleman at the front desk was so very nice, and helpful! The room is CLEAN and comfortable. I don't know why some other reviews are bad, maybe people want perfection 🤷🏻‍♀ Don't be afraid to stay here! I don't normally write reviews, but after reading some of the very negative comments I felt I should!

At all cost DO NOT STAY at this lodge.
I stayed there on a brief business trip as I had a meeting within walking distance. I called ahead and arraigned a noon check out so my girlfriend would have a place to wait for me. She went out for a coffee returning before 10:30. Returned to find a man in our room with the beds striped. She protested and he told her to see the office. The manager said her car was gone and shrugged his shoulders.
Now the room and amenities.
The bed was like a piece of wood.
The heating system was so loud it awoke us every time it turned on. About ever 20 minutes.
The bathroom had peeling and missing paint from ceiling to floor with piles of pubic hair behind the door. The non working ice machine is next to a vending machine which sold 4 oz of water for a dollar.
Save you $49 plus tax and sleep in your car before wasting it on this hotel.
Look for my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce on Monday March 7, 2022.

I came here after leaving the travel lodge by Wyndham across the street because of how disgusting it was.. I really enjoyed my stay here. It was very quiet and clean. Check in and check out was a breeze and staff is friendly.... as a 47 year old female I felt very safe... that alone is a plus.... I definitely DO recommend this hotel....

For off-season this is a nice little hidden gem. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Between nighttime and daytime staff they all were professional, friendly and just a delight to meet. For a budget hotel it's very nice. I definitely would stay again.

This is the best "motel" I have ever stayed at. This is a family owned facility that shows great pride. The rooms are spotless. The beds are decent. The towels are huge and plentiful for a motel. The service is amazing. Their pool is small and very clean, the patio deck, furniture and outdoor dining area, and overall landscaping is beautiful. There is only a continental breakfast, but for the budget minded, there is a microwave and refrigerator in each room. The air conditioner works at full blast keeping the room cool, but it is an older unit so a bit noisy, but not really a problem. The surrounding area is safe and clean. The owners take a lot of pride with their property and it shows. If you are visiting the Colonial Williamsburg area on a budget, this is the perfect place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. It was a good value. The front desk clerk was very polite. The room was nice and the AC worked Great! It was hot. The room was clean and in good repair. No odors. The beds were comfortable. There is a small pool, it we were so busy, we didn't get to go swimming. There are USB connections on the night stand along with plug outlets, so you can charge multiple items at once. The room had a mini fridge, dresser, flat tv mounted on the wall, table and chairs, and a microwave. The freeze portion of the mini fridge kept the sno cones a perfect temperature for slushies overnight.

High on value. Clean. Consistent. Walking distance to the historic area. We have been staying here for over ten years, several times each year and have enjoyed it every time. If you like big, fancy places with elaborate breakfasts then look elsewhere. If you need a clean, safe place to sleep on a budget then this is the best place in Williamsburg.

For a night after Busch Gardens, it was a welcome home coming. Rooms are very clean, no bugs. Staff was helpful. Nice after hours room service that was great !! VERY sweet delivery driver. Good wifi, and a comfortable away from the main drag feel to the place. No 5 star joint but didn't expect it to be when bargain shopping. Would stay here anytime gladly and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Thanks sooooo much !!!! 😊

Rooms were clean, it is VERY close to the colonial Williamsburg visitor's center, which was the reason for my visit. It has been recently remodeled. Nice for the price, and quiet. Ice machine was out of order during our stay, which was mildly aggravating, but not a big deal. I would stay here again.

Hotel was easy to find and is very close to several local attractions. Room was clean and free Wi-Fi was great. Pool was open and available to use. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly!

I've been coming to this motel a couple times a year, for several years. Haven't commented, because it was just the place I'd been coming to, no big deal.

Checked in this afternoon, room was ready despite our being early, and everything was fine, as always.

After dinner, the HVAC unit started acting up. We called it in, and in due course the guy from the front desk arrived. He checked out the unit, and decided the auto-switch for the heater was fritzed.

At 10PM, after being on-shift all day, he brought in an assistant, and REPLACED THE ENTIRE UNIT. They could have bumped us to another room, which would have been easier for them, but a pain for us. Instead, he performed one of the most epic feats of handymanliness I've ever seen.

Clean room, reasonable prices, quiet, close to Busch gardens, friendly staff. Will definitely stay again.

Location was a little sketchy, but the office was great. It was 10 minutes maybe from Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Economic Lodge was very nice, my dad stayed there overnight. I really enjoyed my time there. Run by nice people, they kept everything clean.

The best budget hotel i have ever been to. Nice beds, bathrooms, pool. Will def. Come back.
