This was my first time getting surgery in my life and I was terrified. I really enjoyed the realtime color status update for loved ones! Literally, my surgical team all looked like actors - everyone was beautiful and said all the right things. They made me feel super safe and I was confident going into the operating room. The post-surgery staff were beyond wonderful and helped me through the first night. I wish the rooms were bigger but I did have my own vs some people on the floor had to share. I would have surgery again at this hospital.

The facilities at the hospital were immaculate, providing a serene and comfortable environment for both my wife and our newborn. The labor and delivery rooms were spacious and equipped with all the necessary amenities, making the experience as comfortable as possible.

The medical team's expertise was evident as they guided us through the delivery process with confidence and compassion. They were attentive to my wife's needs and provided personalized care that exceeded our expectations.

Moreover, the postpartum care provided by the nursing staff was exceptional. They offered invaluable support and guidance as we adjusted to parenthood, ensuring we felt confident in caring for our newborn before leaving the hospital.

My husband and I delivered our first child at Fair Oaks, and we had a wonderful experience.
ALL staff were kind, patient, and experienced. They respected all of my decisions for birth and helped me get through labor, delivery, and post partum. I wanted an all natural birth, and the nurses (Leah, Katie, Jennifer, Michelle, Patricia to name a few) were right there to help me through.
In the end, I did opt for an epidural, and I was so frightened. But Dr. Thanh gave me peace. The whole procedure was complete in practically two minutes and just minutes after that, I was relieved of pain while still able to move comfortably. Dr. Pickens delivered my child with ease, walking me through the labor professionally.
The lactation consultants empowered me to breast feed when it was initially very challenging.
As this was my first child, I didn’t know what to expect and brought an over packed bag that I honestly didn’t need. At Fair Oaks, you can come empty handed. They provide you and your baby with everything you need from ice packs to diapers. The chairs in the rooms, which are nicely sized, turn into beds which was very welcomed for my husband.
Lastly, the best food is at breakfast, especially the French toast and coffee.
We are really so thankful to Fair Oaks and hope to have our future children there.

Yesterday was the second time that Fair Oaks jumped into action and just about saved my life. This hospital is equipped with friendly, warm employees who you can tell want to care for others. A congratulations is in order for having employees who treat patients like people and not like a number, even when busy.

I had my gallbladder removed yesterday unexpectedly and the staff were wonderful. First, the staff shows a bustling brilliant female team of medical professionals who got the job done with excellence. Hats off to you Dr. Ludi and your awesome PA. 👌 also, I would be remiss not to mention Jennifer the bubbly, accurate PA who helped me when I was in triage, nurse Mary from Post op was also very helpful and kind, thank you.

Last but not least was the registrar who checked me in, Kevin. This young man had a very laid back and cool persona, however his assistance for someone walking in off the street was anything but, he addressed me professionally, saw that I needed a wheel chair and proactively got it and came to check on me while in the ER. A true definition of integrity is doing what's right when no one is looking. Kevin exhibited his care and concern for patients. Great job!

In conclusion, I told my partner that Faor Oaks hospital is the only hospital for me in the Northern Virginia area and she agreed for herself too.

I can’t say enough positive things about my experience at this physical therapy center, and it’s all thanks to Veronica. She’s an absolute professional who goes above and beyond to provide exceptional care. Her expertise and dedication to helping patients achieve their best possible health outcomes are truly commendable.

After each session with Veronica, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in how I feel. Her treatment plans are tailored to individual needs, and she explains everything thoroughly, ensuring that I understand the process and goals. It’s evident that she genuinely cares about her patients’ well-being.

The atmosphere at this center is welcoming and conducive to healing. The entire staff is friendly and supportive, creating a positive environment for recovery. They are accommodating when it comes to scheduling and are always ready to address any concerns.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Veronica and the entire team at this physical therapy center for helping me on my journey to recovery. Their professionalism, care, and expertise have made a tremendous difference in my life, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

I do not understand the bad reviews. I guess some folks are just never satisfied. I can’t imagine the great service we received all over the hospital wasn’t shown to everyone.

This past Wednesday a family member had a knee replaced. From start to finish staff was efficient, professional and very kind. When we would ring for help, the staff arrived within 2 minutes. Fastest response time we have ever experienced. The doctors were superb and sorted out a complication he had after surgery. No requests went unfulfilled.
Special shout out to PACU nurses Elaina and Mohammed Ali. Plus all the techs and nurses on floor five. HIGHLY recommend this hospital.

Terrific team on the emergency crew last night! They took me back as soon as I finished checking in - I never even had to take a seat in the waiting area. From intake, wound examination and cleaning, x-rays, stitching and discharge, the team was nonstop engaged, telling me what they were doing and what was next every step of the way. They even made sure to point me to a nearby 24-hr pharmacy so I wouldn't have to wait till morning for my pain meds since there isn't an all-night RX near my home. Serious and well-deserved shout-outs to Xenia at reception for keeping her cool in the face of an unusual injury - bad horse bite - and to nurse Olga, EMT David, and discharge specialist Carly...and the initial nurses who took my detailed information before I was assigned a room - I didn't get their names but they were terrific too. For a deep laceration requiring extensive cleaning and sutures on both sides of my hand, not to mention imaging, I was in and out in about two hours and was *never* alone except for five minutes after the x-ray as we waited for someone to become available to return me to my room. Well done, INOVA, well done.

I gave birth to my baby boy here 2 months ago. I had a hospital transfer from a virth cenyer I was supposed to gove birth at. Unfortunately, unexpected things came up that needed medical attention. all the nurses and the OB were fantastic and respectful. The night nurses were spicifically wonderful. They explained everything they were doing and asked my consent on pretty much everything. The Anesthesiologist was fantastic getting my epidural in on the first try safely and swiftly. I felt no pain after that! I was finally able to get rest after not sleeping for 3 days. I'm hoping to have my next baby here in the future!

Labor/delivery and post parturm review

An absolutely fantastic experience! I would have no problem recommending this place or answering questions.

Initially I was concerned after checking out the reviews for the delivery hospitals our insurance covered.

Our entire experience though was magical and trust me, if it wasn't I would be writing a scathing post as I have done elsewhere.

The entire staff (techs, nurses, Drs etc...)and facilities were top notch. Also attentive, polite, caring and guided as through the scary unknowns of parenthood.

At no point did I have a concern about the well-being of my wife or newborn. Furthermore, I was expecting to rough it. But the delivery room has a chair that converted into a bed and the post parturm room had a couch that did the same.

My daughter had a tooth extraction here and everyone was wonderful! Nurse Susie Williams went above and beyond to make my two year old daughter comfortable in pre op. Her professionalism and dedication to her job was beyond impressive. Thank you so much!

A week ago I had an outpatient procedure at this facility. Everyone from The greeter at the door was Uber professional and accommodating. I was there on time, completed paperwork and Andrew aka Andy was my first RN for the day. He was pleasant and joyful to be around. He made me relaxed the entire prep time. Brenda popped in to say hello and reassured me everything will be fine and provided some after care tips. Janelle arrived to pop in the IV with ease and no fuss. She has a gentle hand. Brenda rolled me back a few minutes ahead of schedule. My glasses had been removed but I think I saw an angel in dr. Matthew that’s his first name! Whew, he is a handsome man even with the mask on and tall man. Sunita introduced herself, Dr. Hegab walked in, introduced himself and asked me if I had any questions. Nope, let's get this party started!! Handsome Dr. Matthew put the mask on me and said "count to 5" but I don't remember anything after 2!! I woke up in recovery to my bestie about to sit near me and nurse Debbie! My bestie said "dang that was fast, I didn't even get breakfast! You were done in 10-15 minutes!" I was pleased, recovery time went fast and I was headed home in no time! I had the best rest that following weekend. Inova called and text me to follow up! I had a fantastic positive experience at Inova Fair Oaks! I hope not to see them soon! Only because "who wants to go the hospital?" However if you do need medical attention, I highly recommend this location and the staff is phenomenal.

Fair oaks hospital emergency room is awesome. My doctor Dr. Caleb was very friendly and compassionate.
My nurses Mili, Cindy and McKenzie were totally supportive and very throughly.

Thw staff was very kind, compassionate, & professional. Way better than Fairfax & VHC. Food was good, & I'd insist going to Fair Oaks if I have a choice. Hot Sauce Eddie was a big help with PT.

Took my friend for an orthopedic issue and everyone we encountered was special and super friendly! Special thanks to Ellie Jordan and Tori (didn’t get last name). They were so uniquely helpful and kind! Thank you all! Sorry I didn’t get the intake nurses names but they rocked too!!!

Incredible nurses in the labor/delivery and the postpartum departments. We were taken care of 110% while we were there. Big thank you to all the nurses, techs, and staff who otherwise go under appreciated. We are grateful for you!

I had the pleasure of visiting this hospital just last week for the very first time. I came in for some eye surgery, and this hospital is where he works out of. In fact the doctor's office is right next door, which made things convenient. I came in on a Wednesday morning, and was directed to the registration waiting room. It was in this section, where I completed some paperwork, signed some documents, and was given a hospital ID bracelet. After about 15 minutes had passed, my name was called and I was escorted to an actual preoperative room. This is where I was given a hospital gown, and my vital signs were taken. The pre-op Nurse named Penny, also started an IV in my hand. This wasn't painful at all. About 20 minutes later, I was introduced to the Anthestesiologist. She reviewed some information with me, and then she injected some type of medicine directly into the IV. The last thing that I remember was conversing with her about something. Then I woke up approximately 2 hours later in the recovery room. I didn't stay there long, and I vaguely recall changing back into my street clothes. I was then wheeled out the door in a wheelchair, which was totally unnecessary, but this is what they do and I get that. The entire experience was comfortable and efficient and this hospital definitely has it together.

The best and most attentive staff. There was not a single thing I could complain about. I had my ankle surgery here and recently my son was delivered here.

Operating Room Experience (5/5 stars ):
Even in the operating room, the atmosphere was surprisingly welcoming. I greeted everyone with a simple "hi," and they responded with kindness and professionalism.

One nurse even held me up on the table, providing comfort during a nerve-wracking moment so I would not fall off when the drugs kicked in .

Cleanliness and Hygiene (5/5 stars ):
The hospital's cleanliness and hygiene standards were impeccable. In a time when hygiene is of utmost importance, I felt safe and secure knowing that INOVA Fair oaks maintained such high standards.

Communication (5/5 stars ): Throughout the entire process, the communication was excellent. The staff kept me informed about the surgery's progress, and they patiently answered all my questions, which helped alleviate any anxiety I had.

The post-operative care was outstanding as well. The nursing staff monitored my recovery closely, ensuring I was comfortable and addressing any concerns promptly.

I had surgery at this hospital and had to spend a few days there. I must say, the level of care and support I received during my stay exceeded all expectations. The nurses who attended to me during the first three days were simply outstanding, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been under their care.

RN Michelle S. deserves special recognition for her invaluable assistance and unwavering patience. She went above and beyond to ensure that my pain was effectively managed throughout my recovery. Michelle consistently checked on me, providing reassurance and ensuring my well-being. Her empathetic and genuine nature was evident in every interaction, and she made certain to convey all of my concerns to the physician assistant, demonstrating her exceptional communication skills.

During the night shift, I had the pleasure of being cared for by RN Lynda B., who was equally remarkable. Lynda was diligent in checking on me regularly and ensuring that I was comfortable and progressing well. Her attentive and compassionate approach made a profound impact on me during a challenging time.

Both Michelle and Lynda truly embody the definition of angels in human form. Their dedication to their profession and their patients is unparalleled, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have encountered both of them during such a pivotal and difficult period in my life.

I am immensely grateful to the entire hospital staff for their exceptional care, but Michelle S. and Lynda B. have left an indelible mark on my heart. They are a shining example of the extraordinary healthcare professionals who make this hospital an exceptional place for patients like me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Brought my 18 yo son to the INOVA ER on Rugby Road, 8 AM, Friday, with what seemed like appendicitis… turned out it WAS appendicitis, and I have to say the whole day went smoothly, no drama, very efficient, from the initial evaluation, to the pain meds (just some intravenous ibuprofen which one my son said helped a lot), to the scan, pre-op, surgery … out by 6 pm. Everyone was very knowledgeable, professional, amiable, even funny at times. :-) I recommend it, but do bring a sweater because the ER is cold-ish to reduce germs. They’ll give you blankets, but for me I wish I would’ve brought a sweater. Although I did end up buying a really nice INOVA hoodie in the gift shop. Ha! They should sell those in the lobby of the ER. They‘d make a killing. Oops maybe killing is not the right word to use there.
I wish I could remember all the nurses and other staff names, but it wasn’t like I was taking names. The only one I really remember is Ursula, because of the mermaid tie-in. Ursula actually came down to get me when I was getting something to eat so that I could be there when they rolled my son off to the laparoscopy appendectomy. That was very kind of her.
All in all, I am glad we decided to go to INOVA. I’d heard good things about it and I’m glad they panned out. Living as we do in Reston. I could’ve gone to a couple different places but yes, I am glad we went to INOVA, as it was a sort of split second decision made very early in the morning with not much to go on in terms of past experience. Although… Come to think of it my son was born 18 years ago at INOVA. Just not in the emergency room. Lol.
