2nd Street Bistro

Decor, design, delight! I haven’t had pheasant in many years and this recipe has me craving it more! Beet tortellini, Caesar salad, duck fat fries, amazing bread. Boil this all together with stellar service and nice music bringing it all together for a fabulous meal with my family. One on up to Livingston MT and give this place a go. You won’t regret this hour or two of your life!

Hats off to the Chef, and staff. Has a great atmosphere for fine dining. With the open kitchen you get to see so many delectable meals coming out. The wine selection was diverse and very good. I had the Surf and Turf (the special for the night) my wife had the beef bourguignon. We will be back again!!

By far the best place I’ve even been to. Melts in your mouth, cozy atmosphere, Lauren is an amazing hostess. The chef and his team did an amazing with all the food. The desserts literally brought me to tears.

Lovely place for a nice meal. I had the lobster which was excellent. We got mussels and escargot for appetizers. Would definitely go back!

Our first visit was in 2011 and we remember having a great experience so when we found ourselves back in Livingston this past weekend, we knew we had to visit. Once again, it was an amazing meal. We shared the pate and a Caesar salad to start, both of which were fresh and delicious. My husband then enjoyed the steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare, accompanied by the most delicious (and indulgent) mashed potatoes. I ordered the lamb bolognese and the pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce was rich, meaty, and seasoned perfectly. I had ordered a similar pasta dish at a newer Italian restaurant in town the night before, but yours was my favorite by far. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Livingston.

A French inspired American Bistro with high quality food and plated perfectly. Pictured below are the short ribs over a potato croquet, scallops over saffron Risotto and the crab cake salad. This place is always consistent and never disappoints. The chocolate mousse is to die for! Happy eating.

The best dining experience in Montana! Every single course was incredible! As was the wine pairing. The menu changes each month and October was fabulous. You have your table for the evening. You don’t feel like you are being rushed so they can turn the table. You can actually dine and enjoy conversation as each course is presented at just the right time. The attention to detail is amazing. From the owner to the chef to the servers they all care about your experience!

Oh my, where do I begin? So much to love about 2nd Street Bistro. In years past we frequented this place but Covid changed a lot of things and our dining out stopped for months. Now we are rediscovering places we loved previously and I am happy to say that 2nd Street Bistro did not disappoint! We easily made reservations online and when we arrived we were greeted by the owner, Brian, and shown to our lovely window table. The low key and romantic decor of the dining area was different than the last time we ate here but very warm and inviting. Our server for the evening was Lauren and she was ultra knowledgeable about the wines and food and was so welcoming to us. The star of the evening's meal was the encrusted halibut entree. AMAZING. We will be back very soon.

Fantastic ambiance and well worth the $85 a head. Had a mushroom agniolotti which was excellent, a winter vegetable salad which was fine (really heavy on the frissee side of things and light on the winter vegetables), a pheasant breast that is in the top five bites I've ever had in my life, and a really excellent tarte tatin along with several very well prepared cocktails. For 40 dollars you can add a wine pairing to each course, but didn't go that way.

Came here well on a fishing trip two days in a row. Second time coming here. Was sad that they didn’t have the bolognese, but the staff was great and very accommodating to picky eaters. Cannot recommend this place more and cannot wait to come back.

What a wonderful surprise in downtown Livingston, MT! A true gem. This chef is creative and used the finest ingredients to produce a meal to be remembered. I'll be back!

We didn’t have a reservation but the hostess was able to accommodate us. We like sharing our meals so we ordered two appetizers, a salad, and a pasta. Each item was spaced properly and presented beautifully. Our service was impeccable. Every detail, from refilling waters, to fresh silverware between courses, to appropriate interactions. Our favorite course was the grilled calamari. We will be back!

We had such a great time eating here. The food was delicious and the servers were all really friendly and accommodating. We showed up slightly early for our reservation so they gave us a table outside where we could order appetizers and drinks while we were waiting. And they allow you to order drinks from the bar next door if there are any beers on tap there that you're more fond of!

Me and my Husband decided to try something new and eat at this gorgeous restaurant for our 1 year wedding anniversary! I'm very glad we did. We LOVED the hot crab and artichoke dip. Very good. Both of our entrees were immaculate. I had the shrimp pasta and my hubby had beef stroganoff. On top of amazing food our server was so kind and on top of everything!

Prepare to spend some money. A 3 course meal and a cheap bottle of wine for 2 set us back well over $100. Money well spent, but know going in what it can cost you. The food is delicious and well executed. This restaurant is in a league of it's own within a large radius. French inspired cuisine with nearly everything made in house and masterfully executed. The service was knowledgeable yet never got too stuffy. That goes a long way.

Best place in the area. Good flavors and great service. As others have stated, it is on the pricier side, but no more than any other restaurants of this caliber. Most dinners are around $30. They do serve homemade bread which is becoming rare.

We hadn't planned on finding such a great opportunity early Easter evening, but the Bistro was providing a prix fixe tasting menu with wine at an unbelievable price. Morel mushrooms! Waygu beef, creole seafood stew! And 3 great wines. We will be back for the food and personal service.
