Deersville General Store

Can we get some more stars please? This place is FANTASTIC!! The staff were all friendly. One of the ladies that worked there gave me a little history lesson about the building and even gave me a behind the scenes look at the antique ice cream machines that are still in use today. This store has been around for a very long time and is so charming. There's a bit of everything. From delicious ice cream to tools, hot foods to camping supplies. They even have a gas pump. It was right next door to our airbnb. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

Super fun place to stop and check out. Cheap and homemade ice cream, the items are reasonably priced, and the locals are friendly. The pizza was eh but it was the only one around.

Really nice place to get a homemade ice cream treat and sit to enjoy your day and the beautiful town of Deersville. Very quaint and country rolled into one. The store has souvenirs, camping supplies, fishing last minute items. You will be taken back to an old general store as you walk around and the folks are nice and helpful. It's worth going out of route off highway 800 to visit them. Sign the book at the register.

This was the nicest place. Went here for bait. Even though they didn’t have their shipment yet it was still quite a pleasure as they served ice cream and sold tshirts and sweatshirts, fishing equipment. They best part was... hear me out... the restroom!!! It was so cute! They had necessities in there and was so clean. Like it was a house bathroom. Very cute!! The people were nice and very helpful and offered us an alternative place to purchase bait which lead us to another equally great experience. THANK YOU!!!

Our good neighbors took us to get some ice cream! It was a nice day (in January). The ride was nice-beautiful countryside.
Nice variety of flavors of ice cream! Ice cream is piled high on the cones.
Definitely a repeat visit! Our neighbors said vacationers really frequent the Deersville General Store.

We came here while their card reader was down due to bad winds. They told us to pick up whatever we needed and took our card info so they could charge us later, which they didn’t have to do and we really appreciated that.

We also happened to come on their customer appreciation day and they had free drinks, hot dogs, and baked beans.

The homemade ice cream was great too!

Everyone who worked there and the owner were super kind and going there was a highlight on me and my boyfriend’s anniversary trip.

Great small town store, has a bit of everything. Great ice cream selection if you are in the mood for a bowl or cone. Offers a variety of food and special offers on the weekend!

Just came back from a winter retreat at an air BnB in Deersville, and I have to say, this little general store is one of the best I’ve visited! Granted, they were pretty much the only game in town, but I would be a repeat customer here even if they were competing with DOZENS of other small mini-markets, delis, or pizza places here in Columbus!!! (This isn’t mentioning their ice-cream, which was OUTSTANDING!… worth an out of the way trip in and of itself!)

Thank you Deersville General Store!!! You’re 2 hours away, but I have a feeling we’ll be back a few times a year!

Was in the area this weekend for the BTA morel Festival and this place was recommended for sandwiches and ice cream. It was some of the best ice cream we've had!!! They make it onsite and it is fresh, whippy and unique flavors. Gotta try the Butter Crunch. They also have tasty pickled eggs😋

Everyone working there was super friendly!!! It's a 3.5 hour drive and we're anticipating our next trip to area so we can get more ice cream.

I just enjoy small towns and villages and this place is small. They have an old general store and serve their own homemade ice cream and I have been told the ice cream making machine is around a hundred years old although I'm not sure of it. Just something I was told. The ice cream is excellent, at least I feel it is..... There is seating places outside the store if you just want to set, enjoy ice cream and enjoy main street which isn't all that long but you are right there lol

Love this place!! Right down the street from tappan lake camping ground. Has everything you need! Ice, snacks, toys, drinks, camping supplies and delicious hand scooped ice cream too! Staff is always helpful and nice. Always have to stop here when we camp for their homemade potato salad and pickled eggs. Definitely recommend!
