Video Game Nirvana

I usually don’t post reviews for many places whether it would be good or bad but this store and owner absolutely deserves the respect and shout out for having such a great place. This store and owner deliver an excellent experience whether you go in store or buy online. If you buy online, the owner is very quick with responses and the delivery turnaround is quick with very good shipping costs. I do have a few things shipped when I can’t make the trip but going in person is even better.

Right when you walk in the door, the nostalgic feelings just overwhelm you. Such a great collection of games and merchandise to choose from and look through. Great music playing. Greeted with a friendly hello from the owner that is super willing to help and is always ready for any questions you have and will start your purchase pile while you continue to check things off your list or add those goodies that you didn’t know you wanted until you see it on the shelf. If you’re lucky, you may even get greeted by his super friendly and adorable leaders from shipping and customer service.

The shop is very clean, organized and great prices!

I just can’t say enough great things about this store and owner and I could go on and on but please check this place out! You will not regret it!

The store owner is super sweet and attentive!! It’s hard for me to get comfy talking to new people but he’s easy to strike a conversation with, definitely the perfect guy for his job. The store itself is wonderful. Super clean and organized, the atmosphere in general is really incredible. If you can’t find something he’ll do the best of his abilities to help find it or put in orders for you. I’m finally completing my eeveelution collection for the first time in 8 years thanks to him. You really are in your best bet going here! Also a great store if you love cats ^_^

Great selection and variety of classic and modern gaming selections. The person who ran the shop was very informative and obviously passionate about gaming. He let us browse in peace while occasionally chiming in with useful trivia about things we brought up, and answering any questions we had.

Prices were also very reasonable. Just make sure you know what you're buying and ask any questions if you're unsure as if you're not familiar with certain types of cartridges(rom hacks, reproductions, etc) you may end up buying something that's not what you thought it was. The guy was very upfront about it though.

Awesome store!! I have ordered games and had them shipped to me in the past in Florida and they always showed up quick! I now live in Ohio and decided to check out the store in person, did not disappoint! The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable of all his repro carts and games so if your unsure about what your looking at, ask away! Will continue to be a long time customer :)

Visited with my son for his birthday and chatted it up with RJ, who was knowledgeable and friendly. He gave my son extra attention, and even signed his birthday shirt. Wide variety, prices seemed low in comparison to corporate places. All in all a cool spot.

I passed four game shops to come here, and will again.

I LOVE coming to this store. Best video game selection for miles. I live 1 hour away and always find the drive worth it. If you’re a collector or just like older games, you need to stop here. The store is packed floor to ceiling with games and accessories that you simply will not find anywhere else. The prices are more than reasonable in the current market and there are always new things to see. 10/10 if you like video games this is the place for you.

They have an amazing collection of Nintendo games, classic and modern, and all are surprisingly low-priced. The owner was really friendly, and let me take a free DS game alongside the two I purchased. (And there's an adorable collection of Pokemon keychain plushies, which I recommend) I will absolutely be visiting again!

I have had nothing but great experiences every time I visit. I traded some stuff in and felt the prices I received were more than fair. I have little knowledge on gaming, but the owner is always patient, helpful and willing to explain. The inventory is also great! There is something for everyone! I would recommend paying them a visit.

What a cool shop to have in Madison! Very fair pricing, great selection and just a fun place to look around. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I had asked him to check out what could be wrong with a game I had, he swapped it out with a new copy. Gestures like that are unheard of anymore, but they are so appreciated! Thank you for the excellent customer service.

This is the best game store within a 50 mile radius. Customer service could not be better. We travel from around the pa border to come here because of the extremely fair prices and amazing customer service. This is not game stop, this is a wonderful small business. I urge you to shop here- he has everything, and if he doesn’t, he’ll find it.

I do not do reviews let me put that out there but this place is a gem! The selection, the prices, and the knowledge shown by the owner is outstanding.

I moved away from the area years ago but, every time I’m in town visiting, I go to this place because it always has things I otherwise cannot find or are hard to find online. One time I was in checkout about to make a purchase and the owner was about to stop the sale just because the carts I was buying were reproductions (I personally don’t care whether they are or not so I went ahead and bought them anyway) I think this shows great ethics and consideration to his customers!

Whether you’re looking for recent games, the classics you grew up playing, or something new and surprising like a ROM hack, Japanese games, old computer games and boxes( I haven’t seen a store like this carry those types of items). This places’ selection is second to none in the area.

If you are looking for a game, come to this place. You won’t regret it.

Amazing customer service!!! I come in with my two boys and have zero background in gaming. This store is so wonderful and its owner makes your problem his problem. I will never buy online or go to game stop again. His shop is worth the 45 minute drive!

So happy I was able to visit this shop for the first time! I went in to do a little Christmas shopping and could have easily stayed the whole day.

They have a huge selection of games, consoles, and even some plushies. Seriously, almost any game system you can think of, they have something for it, old school or new.

Everything is organized and displayed neatly, so even though there is a ton of stuff, it’s not overwhelming. Plus, the prices and selection are way better than GameStop or The Exchange and the owner is super friendly and knowledgeable.

I ended up finding quite a few things for my kids (9 & 11) and some stuff for myself too :) I’ll definitely be back soon!!!

I had a lifetime's worth of games on floppy disks (I'm that old), cartridges, and CDs in my basement, and really needed to declutter. I'd crossed oaths with R.J. back before he opened his store, when he'd sent me some Atari games to autograph, so I figured I'd see if he would be interested in buying some or all of my stuff. He was great. He's totally knowledgeable about games, completely honest, very easy to work with, and very hard working. He also rescues cats, so you can buy with confidence, knowing some of what you spend will go toward litter and kibble.

Pretty much the best place to shop for old school video games!! Huge selection, knowledgeable owner, competitive pricing, I could go on and on…my only complaint is it’s over an hour from my house!! Still worth the drive though.

This place is like a museum of anything you could ever ask for, want, or need when it comes to video games. Along with extra touches of retro decor, music, movies, etc. The owner is a lifelong enthusiast, collector, and Nirvana fan (obviously) that can answer any question about all things in video gaming, and has all the games and accessories available for any console or system dating back to the 80s like controllers and adaptors. As well as the old consoles too. And has all the modern games and consoles. Everything is priced competitively and lower than any other store like it. There's a reason RJ and Video Game Nirvana have been on New Day Cleveland on Fox 8 a solid handful of times. It's your first stop for all things in video games

I went in looking for a Zapdos pokemon. RJ looked up the pokemon to make sure he knew what he was looking for and helped me look for it in the box. He offered to order it for me if he didn't have it which was very nice of him. I ended up finding it in the box and in really good condition. He was very professional and personable and over all a great atmosphere. I will definitely be shopping here again.

Very impressive catalog of hard to find titles, I couldn't make up my mind if I was in a museum or if I was feeling like a chubby kid in a candy store. Definitely worth making a detour to here in your travels, and RJ the owner is a cool guy.

Video Game Nirvana is a great video game shop! It's so nice to be in a game store filled with actual games and not vinyl pop figures. The owner is friendly and carries games and systems from Atari to current! Video Game Nirvana even carries some systems that let you play retro cartridge systems on modern HD TVs. And if you still have your old system they carry cords that let you connect to modern TVs.

I went there last week to check it out(didn’t buy anything just browsing) and the guy running the place was very nice and helpful, also I thought everything was reasonably priced for how hard it is to find such old classic video games and consoles. WHAT A TREASURE TROVE OF CLASSIC VIDEO GAMES. 10 out of 10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHOPPING THERE.
