We recently stayed at the 1922 Starkey House Bed and Breakfast, and were very pleasantly surprised. Cathy, the owner was so easy to work with. She was very quick with response time, and made herself available whenever was needed. The house was very cute and warm and welcoming. We stayed in the Veranda Room and enjoyed our private porch with views of Seneca Lake. The location was great. Cathy made incredible, from scratch breakfasts each morning with locally sourced ingredients. The food, view, coffee, and whole placed was very enjoyable. We would highly recommend!

I don’t write reviews, but our recent (August 2021) stay at 1922 Starkey house was so wonderful I had to share this recommendation.

The location is perfect for a relaxing stay, with many of the top wineries on both Seneca and Keuka lakes nearby. Starkey is just 12 minutes north of Watson’s Glen, where you can find many shops and dining options. Amazingly, there is also a phenomenal gorge hike featuring 19 waterfalls in just 1.6 miles, with the trail head and parking right in town! (Tip: go before 8:30 AM or after 6 PM to avoid the crowds during high season.)

The house is peaceful and serene with a wonderful wraparound covered porch for enjoying your winery purchases in the shade in the late afternoon, and for chatting with other guests while you enjoy a wonderful, home-cooked gourmet breakfast in the morning. Cathy, The owner, is not only a phenomenal cook but the perfect hostess with plenty of tips and advice and always ready to make your stay more comfortable and relaxing.

Our room was great and very reasonably priced, especially including the amazing breakfast!

Thank you Cathy! We hope to return to see you again.

Cathy is a wonderful and kind host- she regularly checked up on us to see if there was anything she could do to make our stay more comfortable. The house itself is very nice and lovely- the breakfast is even better. Everyday, Cathy cooked delicious meals for us- the first day we had her zucchini omelette and we knew the remaining breakfasts would be just as amazing. The location is very convenient- it's very close to many wineries! Highly recommend, thank you, Cathy!

My significant other and I stayed for a weekend in August 2020. Cathy was a wonderful host who was friendly and knowledgable about the Seneca Lake region. Each morning she cooked fresh, delicious breakfasts using ingredients from local farms. Our room was clean, with plenty of fresh linens and a gorgeous view of the lake. The house is located close to local wineries and larger surrounding towns such as Geneva and Watkins Glen. We truly enjoyed our quick weekend getaway and would recommend to family and friends.

This was our third visit to the 1922 Starkey House. It is a wonderful place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. The propriator, Cathy, is a gracious hostess and a fantastic cook, no less. She is very attentive and wants to make sure that her guests are comfortable. She is on the West side of Seneca Lake and close to some of our favorite wineries (Barnstormer, Hickory Hollow) and eateries (The Wienery). And not to forget, near the Seneca Lake Brewery and the Beerocracy.
We felt safe with the social distancing and other practices she has set in place during this crazy time, too. You will love it here!

This is the second summer that my husband and I have spent our anniversary here. Cathy is an excellent host, the rooms are clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and the view of the lake is fantastic. It’s also an excellent location on the lake to explore all the wineries, the town of Watkins Glen and the great spots on the east side of the lake. Her homemade breakfasts are outstanding. We always meet nice guests. We highly recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed a 5-day stay at 1922 Starkey House. Cathy, the lovely host, cooked us breakfast with fresh local ingredients every morning. The location is great too – easy to drive to cities like Ithaca and Geneva for dinner, all national parks for hiking, and plenty of vineyards of course. Importantly, Cathy is really careful about disinfecting everything before serving food, which we really appreciated.

Our stay at the 1922 Starkey House Bed & Breakfast Inn was excellent! Cathy is a delightful host, knowledgeable and quite pleasant to talk to whether it was about the Finger Lakes, European travels or grandchildren. She also makes an excellent breakfast! We stayed in “La Chambre“. the room was wonderful for us: quiet and spacious with comfortable seating. The bed was perfect for me and my bad back. There’s a very nice veranda shared by all guests. We had breakfast there. If you are look for a b&b with a warm, wonderful host and good food the. 1922 Starkey House is the place for you.

Our stay was in June of 2021 and we will definitely return.

My husband and I stayed at 1922 Starkey House B&B for our first trip to the Finger Lakes. We loved everything about this B&B! The location was great, our room and the house was clean, cozy and nicely decorated and the breakfast was delicious! The owner, Cathy was the sweetest and so helpful with information on places to see and eat in the area! We would highly recommend staying here to everyone!

My husband and I just returned from an amazing visit to Seneca Lake (June 26-28, 2020), and we stayed at 1922 Starkey House, which was delightfully charming. The house reminded me of a classic New York summer retreat house with its craftsman style and antique decor. Our room had beautiful Laura Ashley and Ralph Lauren linens, which gave it a very cozy homey feel. The two breakfasts (fluffy blueberry pancakes & homemade syrup, melon & fresh squeezed orange juice the first morning, and pepper, cheese & leek omelettes with strawberries & grilled pear caramelized with cinnamon & sugar and fresh squeezed orange juice the second morning) and cheese platter on our arrival night were delicious. We especially enjoy spending our evenings on the front porch. The house is very centrally located to explore area wineries (which we did via bike) and Watkins Glen (highly recommend hiking the Watkins Glen State Park). It was our first post-COVID quarantine trip so we were a bit nervous, but Cathy kept it immaculately clean, provided hand sanitizer, which was always available by the front door and in our room, and Clorox wipes in the bathroom, and she always wore a mask when she interacted with us. We truly enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed five days at this charming and welcoming B and B. Our host Cathy was friendly and helpful and provided wonderful, healthy country breakfasts as well as coffee and cake throughout the day.
We would recommend the 1922 Starkey House to friends and family. We will be back.

Rooms were a little small, but very pleasant. The Inn Keeper and owner maintained and catered to her guests by herself. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with fresh fruit, juices, and jellies to go with the meal.

Cathy went out of her way to please her guests. One example, my wife and I were talking about a B&B we had stayed in in Georgia. Needless to say peaches became a topic. When we arrived back to the B&B after our days adventures we noticed a note on the serving table. It read "did someone mention peaches?". Sitting next to the note was several slices of a freshly baked peach pound cake.

What more could you ask for from a host!

This b&b was so great! The house was incredibly clean and beautiful. Cathy was a charming and pleasant host! (And a damn good cook!) she was super knowledgeable about the area and the popular places to eat/drink/enjoy (if it's your first time in the finger lakes area). A++ would recommend for first time and veteran bed and breakfasters.

Cathy is a gracoous and accommodating hosress. She supports the local economy by making delicious breakfasts with ingriendents from local businesses. Her breadth of knowledge on the history of the area is deep and interesting. This was our first stay at 1922 Starkey House. It will certainly not be our last. If you are looking for quaint, peaceful get away located in the Wine Country, this place is second to none. Highly recommend!

The 1922 Starkey House is a wonderful place to get away. THE HOUSE WAS CHARMING, AS WAS THE OWNER Cathy. The house is located on a hilly country road right off of the Wine Trail. The gardens, farms and views are spectacular . So many wonderful memories to make! I loved it and highly recommend the 1922 STARKEY HOUSE of DUNDEE, NY
