I have absolutely no idea what the negative reviews are on about. Upon entry I was greeted by a gentleman who explained the pricing of the range (and any additional cost; for example, if you bring a buddy) along with the deal for targets they were having at the time I visited. Very professional and courteous individuals. Once I had my eyes & ears on, I walked into the range and was greeted by an older range officer who explained the rules for using the range, he was straightforward and direct. He might come off as rude to some, but this is his job and his job is to make sure your are safe along with all the other visitors. Range was super clean and organized. This was my first visit to this range for zeroing my rifles and the RSO was very helpful with any questions or troubleshooting issues I ran into. I would definitely recommend this range for anyone who's looking to get some nice groupings <100 yards and/or performing any zeroing of their optics. Just an FYI, for those who want to shoot a rifle, you will be having to use a bench rest and cannot load more than 7-rounds into your magazine and if you are zeroing, then 1-round at time loaded up, until you are "on-paper".

I’m a Patrol Officer in NH and I came down to NY to help my buddy sight in his rifle. I looked this place up and loved the fact that it was a 100 yard range. Stephan, Wayne and Rich were polite, knowledgeable and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in their range. Rich put safety first which I appreciate. When I’m back in the area I’ll absolutely use the range again.

I have to share my experience @ Davis Shooting Sports/Range. A+service from the very 1st time that I walked in, just to check the place out several weeks back. Wyane the Owner, is very professional/knowledgeable. His staff is A+ as well, Stephen extremely knowledgeable in helping me with my Ruger PC carbine purchase. Learned so much from him in just few minutes. Tiffany helped me with several other things, such as showing me different firearms/rifles. Great deal of information there.
Mike & Rich are the RSOs, eye's & ears b4 you go into the range. The rules are explained to you again, in case you didn't read the rules on the way in. Mr. Rich is super old G with tons of experience. He is very direct and to the point. He is very serious with the range safety. Mike is super knowledgeable with range safety & he helped me several times targeting, booth set up as well as do's & do nots. I placed my targets way down, he corrected me very politely.

For the life of me, I can't believe or understand the negative reviews. Some people can't be pleased, or just take things to heart right away. Complaining about price/rounds/laws that the STATE HAS FORCED onto the store/range. Please don't forget it is a service/business, like any other service that you pay for. I for one want to see my range stay open, especially in these hard times. Prices are very fare to me, rules are in forced/ in compliance/ & I always feel safe when shooting here.

I remember coming in one day, it was so dang crowded. Everyone was extremely busy & it was just crazy. Wayne/Stephen apologized several times for the wait. Of course I said that it was no need to, as it was just to busy. I have never felt any racism nor negative feelings from any of the staff. From day 1, an inviting atmosphere.

So in closing, I've found my goto range. I always feel welcomed when I walk through the door. Tiffany is always giving me choclate 😉😊last but not least the shop mascot 🦮White Lab girl. Apologies for not remembering her name right now, well mannered & very friendly.

FYI out there, I purchased my rifle & was about to leave because my time was up using my firearm.
Wyane, being the guy that he is.
Said to me, "let me get that boxs, let's get you back on the range to site that in & get a feel for your new rifle". As well as a target, so that's range time & a target for free. Wow, freaking cool dude.
A+ service

I highly recommend Davis Shooting Sports/Range.
Stop by, and see for yourself welcome environment always...

New Shooters,
Fred F.....
Thanks Wyane/Staff.

Very welcoming, down to earth, straight shooters there. The gentlemen I dealt with were direct and upfront, which for me was a breath of fresh air. Honestly, I felt like a proud American when I walked in, and it felt good. Will be back; making it my new offsite man-cave.

Went there for the first time 11-13-22 and did an hour on the range to sight in my .308. For 1 hour and a new set of ear protection it ran me about $45. Guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, he got me on the range firing in less than 5 minutes (no extra forms or safety videos). The RSO assigned me to a lane and didn’t bother me once the entire time. The range was in good shape, and had good lighting at 50, 75 and 100 yards where I was shooting at. No nonsense and a friendly place. I had a great experience and will surely be back. The ≈$25-$30 bucks to shoot for an hour at 100 yards indoors beats shooting outdoors in the cold any day of the week.

I have been shooting at Davis for some years now and greatly appreciate the safe environment and the assistence from the staff. I have purchased a number of rifles and usually below prices advertised elsewhere. The range officers are great but nononesens guys and if you see what they deal with at times you understand and appreciate their efforts at maintaining a safe environment!

Always clean, range is very nice. The range officer won't bother you and let you do your thing as long as you are following the rules and being safe. Store is well stocked. Staff and patrons were all friendly and everyone said hello to me. I was asked if I needed help right away. Hourly fee is very high now, at 27.00 an hour. It's okay if you need 30 minutes or an hour to sight a gun quickly. But if you have multiple firearms and like to take your time and need to make adjustments time runs out quick. It takes time to switch out guns, change ammo, adjust sights and troubleshoot. They definitely need to offer cheaper prices for customers wanting to spend a lot of time there when it isn't packed or offer discounts for off peak times. I spent 3 hours there today and I feel the 81 bucks is a bit much. 60 would of been fair for an early Tuesday afternoon. 4.5 star for overall experience.

The guys who work here are extremely helpful and professional in the way that they operate their store. The store is stocked with most of what the average to pro fishing enthusiast needs, all the ammunition for your stock at home, hunting, or for just shooting in their range, and the archery section is decent.

My first experience was very enjoyable. I felt safe and confident in my time shooting. The booths to shoot in are decently sized enough for one person to shoot comfortably and the control box to operate the target range is easy to use.

I would give it more stars, but 5 is sadly the limit.

Love the rifle range. It's always a good time. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and friendly. The range is always clean and ready for use. However the lighting down range works but It's not very easy to see at 100 yards. There are plenty of 100 yard booths as well as booths for left handed shooters.

Been here a few times now with my rifle builds, Dave at the front is always willing to help, and the range officers are very knowledgeable as well. To the people that complain about them, I’ve been here when “inexperienced” shooters come, and it’s scary to watch them operate. I give the guys credit for keeping cool, and reminding them Of range rules multiple times.
I will continue coming here, it’s clean, and a knowledgeable staff is present.
Keep up the good work guys!!!

People say the range master is a mean guy but he is the opposite he is very helpful and a very good teacher and very safe.

Edit: Went again today 12/28/2018, 3 years after the original review. The rangemaster was the same and still extremely helpful and didn't rush the hour shooting time. There was lots of people in the store and getting to the range was quick and painless. I recommend this range to anyone wanting to shoot in a enclosed, safe, and well set up range. They will receive my business for years to come.

Given my work history im slightly more experienced with firearms in general. I came to Davis to sight in a rifle and to teach the experience of being a marksman to a loved one. The store looked very nice and large however I didn't need to buy anything so I cannot attest to the prices. The employees were friendly and the owner seems like a true sportsman given an array of impressive pictures. I had a very good experience on the range. The range was well kept, very large, and perfect for sighting in a rifle given that they have a well lit 100yds. The booths had nice large solid tables in them so you can keep track of your gear and make whatever adjustments necessary. The range officer was friendly when he greeted us, explained the rules, explained how the electronic carriage works, and then left us alone which was also nice. I recommend this facility.

I had a great experience. Ex-military staff running the range is reassuring. A crusty but helpful Gunny behind the counter giving good advice. Being restricted to slugs for the shotgun is a bummer but a totally reasonable restriction. Too bad there are not many (IF any) outdoor ranges in this area, but I chose to live in NY, so that is a price to be paid. This place is a nice clean range to go bust some caps and pick up some pointers from experts.

Reviews go a long way and thank god I dont listen to them. I have to go see for myself. I hold a pistol license for 27 years. New to the area and new to the hunting game I went to Davis to purchase a rifle. Bought a savage 700 3006 with a scope at a very reasonable price. Bought some range time to sight it in. The guy in the range was very helpful as well. Walked me through the rifle and helped me sight it in. Excellent experience overall. Thanks for the help guys !!

Came here because they had the gun I really wanted. Very glad I did. Exceptionally fair priced. Total disclosure, it was my first, and they made it super easy. Guided me through every aspect of acquiring, from sling to bag. Wayne was fantastic. Took me out back to their range after to break it in. Wow! The range. Largest indoor I've ever seen. You could shoot a sniper rifle in there! Will absolutely be coming back for scope and to practice. Thanks to all.

I recently purchased a rifle that came equipped with a scope and bipod from another establishment but was informed that I couldn't practice with it there. In searching for places nearby, I found Davis Shooting Sports to be the closest. As a person who likes to read other people's experiences with certain establishments I needed to check out what was happening here.

Looking through some of the comments posted by some of you, I immediately became apprehensive to come here, however it was the best option for distance from home and the hours open. I decided to give it a shot, no pun intended lol. I have to say I was extremely pleased with the level of respect and knowledge of the people there, especially Dave and the owner Wayne! They checked out my rifle, gave me recommendations for adjustments, cleaned and serviced it for me and adjusted my sights of my scope for accuracy and ONLY for $30 bucks.

Then being a rookie to rifles, Wayne and Dave had some things that they were taking care of in terms of paperwork and packaging other orders but Wayne asked Dave to stop what he was doing to help me become familiar with the rifle and get the accuracy of the scope just right! Then Dave stayed with me for bit and gave me some pointers on accuracy before leaving to continue what he had to do. He didn't just forget about me, as when he completed what he had to do he came back to check up and see how I did. Wayne as well came in to see if everything was working well and if I needed anything.

Just to wrap things up, I would highly recommend this place for your shooting needs as they are well stocked and are knowledgeable of what they are saying and doing! Keep up the great work and I'll definitely be back! I forgot to check your membership prices but I'll figure it out when I return!

Sincerely,
Gabriel

New to the area and new pistol owner. Been here twice already with nothing but helpful advice across the board.
Patient range officers with helpful advice as well.
Clean, good lighting and safe.
Decent prices too!
To the people complaining about the rules, I’d worry about shooting next to them.
Keep up the good work guys!
Thank you for your hard work.

It's a great indoor range, I have sighted in all my scopes at a hundred yards there and whenever I go hunting my shots are on target. I'm not in military or law enforcement, I just shoot there to get ready for hunting seasons. I have always left there happy and the range officer isn't too bad if you follow the rules.
