Dakota Ridge Farm

An absolutely wonderful time for all ages! We had a fantastic visit and tour at Dakota Ridge Farms. We were immediately greeted by friendly, happy, Llamas and learned so much about these majestic, intelligent, chill, and silly animals. Gary gave an incredible tour and it’s so apparent how much he and his wife care about the llamas, from the retreat barn for the new and expecting mama llamas, to the llama salon, to the teenager llama “living room” to the comfy barn for the elderly llamas where Gary makes the oldest llamas special fine hay and a grain puree. You will learn so much about llamas, environmental farming, and animals in general. After the tour make sure you head to window-walled lounge where the curious llamas can take turns looking at you, and then head to the “Llama mart” where you can purchase all things llama including knitters yarn from the happy llamas you just met! Ps. Before you leave, make sure you tell Liz she is gorgeous, she absolutely cannot get enough attention/affection.

Want something "different" and rewarding to do? Go to Dakota Ridge farm and visit the amazing llamas there. Gary and Katrina are genuinely wonderful, kind and caring people. Their love and care for the llamas at the farm is exemplary. My wife Denise and I took a couple of these astounding animals ( Joey and Paulie) out for a walk on their beautifully manicured trails. We were escorted by the lovely and very knowledgeable Emily... who answered all of our questions very graciously. While out on the trails with these lovely llamas, I can almost guarantee a relaxing, worry free, "forget all of your problems" kind of experience. As crazy as this may sound, within minutes of walking with Paulie, I felt an incredible "bond" with him. I hope that Paulie enjoyed our hike as much as I did. If I ever get re-incarnated, I want to come back as a Llama who resides at Dakota Ridge Farms, and I want Gary, Katrina and Emily taking care of me! Thanks for a fabulous day and experience... Such a great experience!! We went for the yoga class with Alexa and it was a blast. The staff were so friendly and the llamas were so much fun to pet and take pictures with. They lay out hay in between your bats so the llamas come close to you during yoga and give you lots of time to let the llamas afterward and take pictures. Definitely going back 😁

A very special place. Kind owners who really care about their animals. There are horses, cats, and most importantly, lots of llamas. You can pet baby llamas, walk a llama on a lead, and cuddle with llamas. I never knew how friendly and sweet llamas were. Cute gift shop as well. One of the most therapeutic experiences ever.

This is an excellent family venue. The owners are great people, there's many different llamas to see from older to youngsters. The trek is not strenuous. It's a nice scenic trail walk through the woods. Highly recommend it to everyone.

We had a wonderful time visiting the llamas on our homeschool field trip. Owners were so friendly and nice. Llamas were friendly as well.

What a great experience! I had no ideas llamas were so gentle and friendly! We booked a private llama tour, which was excellent. Kids got to brush, feed and walk llamas, and we toured every barn, even the one with the mamas and babies ♥

We had an amazing time trekking with the llamas. They each have their own unique personality making our trek very entertaining.. Gary and Katrina were wonderful hosts as were the llamas lol

Every one of them def. has their own "personalities." Chippy was open to lead and bond. She is such a cute girl 🦙

Such an amazing experience hiking with these Llamas. The walk is peaceful and the animals are so friendly to humans. The owners are so kind and make the visit wonderful. $25 per person and there's a little gift shop. I highly recommend this place, so much fun!

Drove up to the farm without calling or making an appointment with a one year old baby. Gary was extremely kind 💞 greeting us as soon as we got out of the car. He made sure we will get the special tour, because we really wanted to meet the llamas up close and personal 🦙 The place is beautiful and the llamas are all in extremely good shape. We had such a wonderful time there. The baby really enjoyed the close encounter with the llamas. We’ll be sure to visit again! Thank you guys for having us in such a short notice. What a magical place! My partner and I drove from Montreal to visit Saratoga Springs and visiting this farm made my day. Very friendly and knowledgeable people. I will definitely return in fall to trek with the llamas

I started off my morning with a nice 1 and half hike through the woods with a wonderful tour guild and a llama. It was a amazing experience. I recommend too the fullest.

had a great time visiting and walking the llamas the other day! my friend and i were visiting from NH and it was very easy making an appointment through email. we were able to take the llamas on a long walk and also have a small tour of the farm. make sure to check out the gift shop where you’ll find a variety of llama items from around the world!

I can't express how wonderful our trip was to Dakota Farms. It was fun, relaxing and gave us a chance to bond with a llama. I would recommend this fun experience to anyone looking for a tour or a good outdoor forest walk with a llama.

I saw lammas for the first time in my life and I love them they are so cute and if you have kids this is the best experience to share it with your kids

We had the best day with Gary as our Trek lead. Absolute stand up guy and guide - extremely patient with our children and their questions, took every opportunity to teach and point out cool things on our walk. Natural conversationalist whom we enjoyed our easy-going chats with. The Llamas (Marilyn and Bubbles) were sweet and easy to walk with. My kids got to lead the llamas, pet them as much as they wanted, and we were able to see and love on some baby llamas at the end of our Trek. And some baby chickens! The hike was stunning - the woods were cleared nicely and it was such a beautiful walk during a perfect Fall day. Thank you Gary and Katrina for your hospitality! We will be back!
