Stony Brook State Park Campground

Helpful info on firewood below!
We’ve stayed here at the campground a bunch of times now (cabins & tent sites) over the last few years. It’s a good-to for our family! Well maintained grounds, cabins are new and in excellent condition. No electricity heat or lights in the cabin, so plan accordingly. Each has 1 double bed and 2 twin beds.
You cannot buy firewood within the campground itself. There is some for sale just outside the entrance at one of the homes right there, but the pieces are small and overpriced imho. Go north on 36 about 1.5 miles (past the main entrance trance to the park itself) until you get to K’s Canine & Tri-County Family Medicine. Directly across from them is consistently good firewood for sale. See pictures! And if you forgot cash you can VENMO them! 👏🏼

The area was huge that it accomodated 27 people. My problem was that most of the stalls in the men's bathroom was out of order and full of spiders. I know it's part of camping to have spiders but the women's bathroom was cleaned up (I saw a park worker sweeping the cobwebs) and stalls were all functioning.

Wonderfully maintained sites, clean facilities. The sites are a little too close together for my taste, but on weekdays it's not roo bad because they're not all filled up.

Love this campground. It's very family friendly and the sites are maintained well. The staff and rangers are very friendly. The shower facilities are nice a hot and the bathrooms are regularly maintained. The camp sites are a good size and the fire pits are nice. The campground playground is very nice and kids friendly too.

Had a wonderful time at this campground. Beautiful campsite, close to the trails. The gorge trail is a must see. The campground was clean and most people were friendly. The showers could use some more space and a bench or something to put your stuff and to get dressed, but still clean and useable.

Love it there! We go every year, it's our favorite place to camp.

I've been here some many times in the past 20 years of my life and it's always exactly as I remember. I absolutely love it here and will keep coming back. One of my favorite places to camp.

An excellent spot to unplug and relax. The hiking was lovely. The swimming was fantastic. Overall a great visit.

Its always a great place to get together woth family and have a picnic and walk the 1000 stairs or go swimming in the summer.

Some of the nicest waterfalls and trails on a state park! Awesome camp sites and decent showers, they don't have power but we still managed to get through the weekend and had an amazing time. 45$ for the whole weekend wasn't bad.
