Sunshine On The Lake

I had such a great and relaxing stay at the cottage. It's clean (which is so important now!), comfortable, and well equipped. I could sit in that chair and stare at the lake all day! Just mesmerizing! Fire pit was a bonus too. Judd was extremely responsive and provided great information before the rental and once I was there.

I had to do some work during my stay (unfortunately), but the Wi-Fi was strong so had no problem connecting.

The pier is a quick stroll down the road and has the best views at sunset.

Already planning for my next trip!

We have stayed at the Sunshine's cabin on the lake several times and have always had a great time! We just love being able to step right outside the door and sit at the beautiful lakeside. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Being by the water is one of our favorite things to do, and we are so glad that we found the Sunshine's cabin for an easy, and rejuvenating get-a-way! One of my favorite things to do is just to sit by the lake, or to take a walk by the water, but we also really enjoy kayaking there.The Sunshines have always been extremely generous, friendly and wonderful hosts, always checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Even bringing us a bottle of wine or some freshly picked fruit that they happened to get that day! The house is very comfortable and super clean and well equipped with everything you would need. We've tried a few of the local restaurants too (some are walking distance) which were really good. We highly recommend the Sunshine's place for a vacation or a weekend getaway! We're trying to plan a time soon when we can come back again!

I have been a repeat visitor for the past few years and plan to return again soon. Amazing memories of peaceful sunrises, stunning sunsets and lake wildlife- last year visited by a family of herons- counted 4 in one picture!! Each cottage I have stayed at has been beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Highest standards for cleanliness- always. All cottages were well equipped ( learned I don’t have to bring my whole kitchen). Find myself smiling at the little extra touches that make you feel like you’re a very welcomed guest. Choose your pace - fishing, kayaking, biking, exploring or quiet time to read and recharge. You can cook yourself or excellent food for dine-in or take- out at the North Side Inn Restaurant.
If planning to fish there is a small shop for all your last minute fishing gear needs close by. Many roadside stands for fresh fruit and vegetables or firewood. Local residents are very laid back, friendly and helpful. Great place to make memories or just relax and enjoy the Lake life. Views are Amazing- Lake sometimes feels like the ocean.

We checked into Sunshine on the lake after a very long long drive, we had been in touch with the owners Lori and Judd Sunshine because we were checking in much later than expected. They told us not to worry about a thing. We got there so late at night after 11 PM, there was fruit and cheese and a bottle of wine and they told us they knew how tired we would be but they wanted us to enjoy our first night there! The cottage were so lovely and quaint and quaint! Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable. The next morning when we saw the view of the lake we were pleasantly surprised! Just a beautiful environment all around. We could fish we could kayak, everything we needed was there. After that there was nothing else we needed, but the host to check in with us to make sure that we had everything we did need! We would go back there again in a heartbeat! I recommend it to anyone and everyone if you just wanna relax, especially in in this Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable. The next morning when we saw the view of the lake we were pleasantly surprised! Just a beautiful environment all around. We could fish we could kayak, everything we needed was there. After that there was nothing else we needed, but the host did check in with us to make sure that we had everything we did need! We would go back there again in a heartbeat! I loved staying at Sunshine on the Lake for a little reunion in the area. The ambience can’t be beat for lakeside peace and quiet. The hosts were super friendly and all the stuff we needed was there. My wife is very particular about beds, cleanliness and such and had an unmitigated positive response to the experience. Happy wife, happy life!

This little cottage is a hidden gem! Great Lake views, perfect place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Bed was comfortable (we slept on the Queen), lake was calm so we kayaked and had a fire. No need to watch 📺 up here!

The host Judd was great! Great location right on Lake Ontario. I want to go back soon!!

Pros: a cute cabin with a yard across the street. Yard is right on the lake. It's well equipped with towels, kitchen items, a washer/dryer, a grill and fire pit. Great views. Good price.
Cons: the TV is an old dinosaur, I missed seeing the women's Fifa World Cup because of it. All of the furniture is, extremely, uncomfortable. The queen bed can only be used by one person because it's lopsided and against a wall. My wife and I had to sleep separately for the first time in 16 years. The futon is rock hard. The AC didn't reach the bedrooms. Ladder for water access didn't reach the water, making it useless. Owners didn't say not to leave the ladder by the water. It washed away, costing us $180 to buy a new one.
Worst of all: My friends dog slipped down the neighbors ramp and drowned in the lake. REPLY: The cable was fine, the old box TV with lines running through it was the problem. Perhaps the other reviewers didn't stay as long as we did because the furniture is truly awful. Owner should try to sleep in the crooked bed with someone else to learn how awful it is and should sit on the futon for a week to see how uncomfortable it is. Guests shouldn't have to ask about the ladder, they should be told about it upon arrival. No, the dog didn't ask permission to use the neighbors ramp. Also, this reviewer is not the person who booked the place but did pay for half of it.
