Me and wife visited this place by chance and we had a pleasant experience. Food excellent - starter fried calamari, Three way tuna for me (if you are in to sushi, this is a great option). My wife had fish and chips + spring salad. Wine selection and quality good as well. Atmosphere romantic!

Really good food, and drinks. Live entertainment in the bar down under. Will definitely return more often. Beautiful old architecture too.

Went to The Striker for a birthday dinner. Tuna three ways was amazing, as were the barbacoa and pulled pork tacos. Service was great and the food came out super quick. A larger draft list would be nice, but everything else was perfect. New management seems to have made a huge improvement! Will definitely be back when we're in the area again.

Amazing brunch food. French toast was a big hit along with waffles and a fantastic biscuits and gravy. Our waitress was friendly as family and made sure everything was perfect. Decor is classic New England tavern with exposed beams and brick. It was the perfect place to eat on a busy Sunday.

Why doesn’t this place have a line out the door for brunch?! What an incredible meal. Every piece of our meals were homemade and fresh, absolutely delicious! Between the crab cake Benedict to the brioche French toast and the chorizo sausage gravy over biscuits, it was heaven! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quality meal!

Got the blackened salmon which came with pasta in a cream & white wine sauce, it was amazing! This was my last night in Portsmouth and wish I had found this place sooner, I definitely would go back. Staff was very friendly & attentive without being overly intrusive. I highly recommend!!

Amazing food! We had tuna three ways, tuna sandwich and the surf and turf sliders. All more than excellent. I have a sensitivity that the staff worked around. No idea why this place is not more popular. Should be! We’ll be back very soon. So much more on the menu we want to try

This place has amazing service, even during our post-COVID world where I’m sure places are struggling with being fully staffed. Our waiter was amazing and very quick, did not catch his name but he served us on June 6th at around 7:30PM, definitely wanted to give him a shout out because a LOT of other places we have gone in York have had pretty awful service, I’m sure because places are understaffed. Whoever you are, thank you for being awesome and we are definitely coming back every year now.

The staff here really made our anniversary dinner great! I made a reservation online and asked for a single flower in the comments of the reservation. When we showed up they had a table just for us near the window with a candle burning and a single long stem rose. The food was excellent (tri-combo grilled with salad) and the staff was very pleasant. Thank you again to The Dolphin Striker!

I had the salmon which was amazing, loved the brussels sprouts that came with it. My husband had the short rib and they were equally as good. There was even live music. It was a nice meal. Glad we came.

Really cool and cozy basement bar that has live music. They also have a historical well that is spring-fed that has live koi fish inside. Makes for a really cool ambiance. They pour a decent Guinness too.

The live act was really enjoyable and a lively crowd showed up... and it was a Monday so that was unexpected. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend a visit if you're in town.

Stopped in the Spring Hill Tavern for drinks and listen to live music. The music was wonderful and the waitor was efficient, amiable, and full of good suggestions. The intimate basement setting was full of friendly locals and cheerful people. It had a historic feel with exposed brick, wooden rafters, and a historic well.

Excellent. Great atmosphere. Historic building. Started with oysters. A dozen for $23. Unheard of price. Excellent! Tangeray and Sprite drink superb! Haddock lovely. Husband's salmon great. Server Pam super. What a treasure. With alot of options in Portsmouth, this is a great choice!

We arrived without a reservation behind large party of ten. It was a very busy evening and they were swamped. Our waitress was in the weeds, bad. The kitchen had tickets backed up at least 30 deep. But the owner himself was on the floor helping and talking with the diners. Due to the busy Saturday evening three food took forever to arrive, "BUT"....... OH MY LORD IT WAS WORTH EVERY SECOND OF THE WAIT! The crab cakes were devine! I was full halfway through the tuna but couldn't stop eating it, I've never seen the wife eat so much in one sitting. Because of the long wait, they comped our dinners, but it was so good we insisted to pay regardless, or was just that good. I will definitely return.

The blacked seafood trio is fabulous! I'm no chef, but perhaps the only way to improve upon the sauce would be to grill the tomatoes or use sun-dried instead. Regardless, I'm hooked!

Judy was also great about making a sangria especially for my wife.

Delicious end to a fun day!

I was there for the music on Monday night. Great music, great fun. These guys are really talented. They played many types of music and played it all well. They invited several different people to come up and play. They backed these people perfectly. Monday night is King!

I hope this bar doesn't ever close and or whom if anyone else ever does buy it keeps the same charm it has!!!! Best bar in town hands down, the bar is in an older building one of the few left in the town, very cozy, fun and not full of young kids. The live music is the best here. Dont change it!! If its not broken don't fix it!

They constructed a surprisingly varied menu for restaurant week that was delicious. My party had people on restricted diets and everyone raved about the food. The staff was excellent and the proprietor of the establishment even stopped by.

We drove up for the weekend and the restaurant we decided to go to was closed and this place happened to be open, and we were happy it was. Everything was wonderful. Our server was great, she was funny and thorough with the menu. The food was excellent and we are so happy we ended up at the Dolphin Striker
