Stopped in Kittery on our way to northern Maine and they were closed, so on the way back we made a point to stop in at lunch. Absolutely worth the detour, food was amazing. We split the Vietnamese crepe and duck yakisoba. 100% recommend, this place is slinging NYC level flavor in the cutest town. Will be our go to spot when we pass up the coast again. Huge props to the cooks! Can't wait to see you again

Every part of our dining experience was a wow! Beverages were the canned house old fashioned from next door and the ice cold sacred profane light lager. We knew we were in a special place when our pork bun and vietnamese crepe arrived at the table. Both plates were outstanding. Our mains were the Shio and Shoyu Ramen bowls. Both were over the top good, and the bowls were, as my wife said, life changing. Yes, this place is worth getting in the car right now to experience it. Service was personable, friendly, and helpful.

Love the food here! It's hard to find a good place for ramen unless your in Boston so when I found out this place was right outside the shipyard where I work I was ecstatic. The broth and noodles are always amazing and there so many good options to choose from. If your dying for some authentic ramen without having to travel all the way to Mass this place is a must! They also have great appetizers and drinks and most of the ingredients used are sourced by local farmers markets.

Okay so my partner and I came here one Saturday afternoon just for some apps+drinks, and the apps were so good we were like we have to come back for a meal. We’re only in the area for a month, and we made time to come back for ramen. We of course got the tamarin wings again, he got the duck noodles and I got the shoyu ramen and we were just as happy with the meals as the apps. This place is awesome - the vibes, the drinks, the food , all A+

On our way to this quaint hole in the wall bar, we stopped here as our stomachs rumbled. And boy I'm glad we stopped!

From electric personalities crafting dishes of art in the kitchen that you can watch from the bar, to the from scratch food it's self. No carton broths here, no shortcuts. Authentic Ramen and Asian Street food. This is the place to detour too.

I myself got the okonomiyaki, which is a dish I've -always- wanted to try. From the heavy proper drizzling of kewpie mayo and Japanese barbecue sauce, to the savory doughy inch thick goodness filled with lightly pickled cabbage, tender pork belly and chunks of sliced shrimp and seafood. Topped with billowy Bonito flakes. This dish is salty, mouthwateringly savory, hint of sweetness and -filling-.

You definitely get that and more for what you pay for. And watching other dishes being prepared in front of me, I gotta come back again and again, to eat through the menu!

This is the best coconut broth I’ve ever had. We subbed the salmon for the chicken in the laska!! They gladly altered the dish for us. Buns were amazing. We really enjoyed watching the staff. Very calm and collected.

Absolutely amazing ramen. The broth is delicious and the bowl is filled with vegetables, egg, and perfectly cooked meat. Sooooo good! And the chicken wings were so yummy as well.

They only way I'd be doing outdoor seating right now in 30 degrees is with a large bowl of steaming hot ramen! Everything we ordered was incredible- I absolutely loved both the pork bun, with its incredible sauce and the eel bun, which was so tender and flavorful! For ramen, my favorite was the spicy miso, which was just the right amount of spicy, and my husband really enjoyed his jiro ramen, which had a big helping of pork. The size of the ramen was daunting, but due to sheer tastiness and the cold, we finished almost the whole thing. This place is super cute and had great service, I'd love to come back and try more of their menu!

Our first time visiting and definitely won't be the last. It's a small quiet atmosphere which is nice, I like to be able to hear the person I'm with. We tried a few different items off the menu and they were all exceptional. Definitely a kittery gem!

This is hands down the best ramen in the north shore. I had the pork shoulder ramen and the veggie yakisoba noodles. The ramen broth has an insane depth of flavor, the noodles were perfect al dente and the flavors all worked well together. The yakisoba noodles were also a delicious marrying of flavors. The pickled ginger on top really ties it all together. Highly reccomend!

I read a lot about this spot and always wanted to stop when driving by Kittery. We finally did. We got the tahini crusted cauliflower, banh mi bun, xi’an cumin lamb noodles. All were really really good. The chocolate banana bread pudding however was out of this world!!

I adore Anjou. I don't know what they do when it gets cold out because the inside space is tiny, but their outside space is fantastic and a great way to enjoy a nice New England day. The ramen will keep you warm. I've never been with more than two people and I always over order. I'm obsessed with the miso-tahini smothered cauliflower and the truth is two people splitting that will be happy afterwards, but then there are all the bowls and those are also not to be missed. Bring lots of people, order too much, and share all the delicious food.

Been driving past this place for the last few years and finally stopped in. One of the better Ramen places I've tried in the area. Definitely will be back to try the other varieties. I had the spicy miso broth and although it wasn't very spicy it still had great flavor.

Dynamic restaurant with delicious dishes. Cauliflower starter is a must try. Whatever sauce they used, it was out of the world. Chicken wings were good. Portion size was generous. We also liked the ramen and mushroom bun.

This is one of my favorite restaurants on the Seacoast. The ramen is amazing. The bao are honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t sleep on the canned cocktails, either! Extreeeemely tasty!

Had been wanting to try out Anju for a while and they did NOT disappoint. It's small but has a really welcoming atmosphere. The pork bun is absolutely delicious, didn't get a picture because it was eaten very quickly! Ordered the shoyu noodles and they were absolutely phenomenal! Highly recommend.

Anju is definitely a place my wife and I frequent when we want some soul warming, stomach filling food, when we want to splurge a bit. I will admit thier prices can be a little steep, but you most certainly get what you pay for. Thier apps can range from smaller portions around $7-$12, medium from $11-$13, and thier bowls can range from $14-$18. But the range of flavors they offer is where they really get you, different styles of noodle bowls and flavor profiles from multiple Asian countries. I love the fact that they work in partnership with the local meat market next door, providing them bones to make thier broths, and I wouId assume the meat from local farms. Being in the industry it's easy to get along with others that cook or serve, but the people that work here are genuinely nice people. Aside from the wait on a substantially busy lunch or dinner, my wife and I have never had a bad experience here. We decided to go this time due to realizing they've added some new menu items, and I have to say, this was the best food we've had here so far. Get here when they open, they can fill up fast!
