Ceres Bakery

This is such a beautiful and charming bakery. Everyone here is very very sweet, and it made us wish we lived closer so we could come here all the time. They have a big variety of delicious looking breads and pastries. My egg and croissant sandwich was really fantastic: extremely buttery and decadent. This bakery is worth coming to just for the friendly service!

This place was the BEST little cafe! We were so lucky to stumble across it. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was so fun and the prices were great. It felt like I was in Europe.
The workers were friendly and nice.
We got the egg sandwiches, which were perfect for breakfast and delicious.
We got a blackberry cardamon muffin and a raspberry rhubarb tart to go. We took them out to the water to enjoy 😁
I would HIGHLY recommend Ceres Bakery and we will definitely go back next time we are in the area!

Boyfriend and I, who are from out of town stumbled across this place today because their flag blew off in the wind as we were walking by so we brought it inside and were unexpectedly thanked with a treat from the super friendly staff. It was so tasty we had to come back to get more, and will definitely keep this place in mind whenever we’re back in Portsmouth.

Amazing food and vibes here got the almond croissant and the pumpkin roll with a maple glaze !!! Would recommend

Ceres Street bakery is one of the only (maybe the actual only) OG cafés left in Portsmouth. It is the best. This place makes me feel warm inside the same way the movie Practical Magic makes me feel. It’s something special and witchy. You can’t imitate the love, hard work, quality and care that the owner and team have put in to this operation.

Super cute place! We had a blueberry/mango scone and a blueberry muffin. They were preparing fresh bread in the kitchen while we had our breakfast. Would definitely recommend the scone!

They make the BEST ratatouille. I'll be checking the website to see if it's on the menu. Haven't had it in ages and would love some ans their Anadama bread, just amazing.

Soooo good! & the ladies in there are so sweet! Especially my cashier! I wish I would have got her name! But she was so pleasant! Blt on sourdough was to dieeeee for!!!

I enjoyed a rasberry croissant with their homade iced tea for breakfast and I enjoyed every bite. The iced tea has some herb in it I think it is mint so if you don't like herbal teas that may not be for you. The service was great and there was no wait you do have to wear a mask inside the store.

I have to say, I just had one of there cinnamon rolls. By far one of the most delectable tasting, I have ever had.

I love Ceres Bakery!! The lunch special is convenient, reasonably priced and always delicious. I love the variety. If the special isn't something I want, they also have quiches, soups, salads, and sandwiches - all great choices, you can't go wrong. I end up going here twice a week these days because it's the best lunch stop in town, especially for the price.

The baked goods, be they sweets or breads, are fantastic; I've tried something new every time and always been satisfied. The scones here are better than any other scone I've found in a bakery. On top of all of this, the cafe is very cute. I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. I can't get enough of it!

Found this adorable, cosey place while walking around. The best raspberry danishes I have ever had (I'm very particular about my baked goods) and the coffee was delicious. The staff is super friendly and very down to earth. I will be coming back in the future!

We spent 2 weeks in the northeast and the croissant here is one of my favorite bites on the trip. Def would recommend!

I pass through Portsmouth a couple times a year and if there is only time for one stop this is the one I make. The food is awesome, the atmosphere unique, and the staff friendly. If you could only ever eat at one place in the whole city you couldn't go wrong with Ceres

Great Bakery plus so much more. They create yummy lunches! So creative with their variety. Love their breakfast wraps and there gooy cinnamon rolls are to die for!! Love everything they make.. oh and the most amazing people work there and own it. Thank you Ceres Street Bakery!
