Enchanted Nights Bed & Breakfast Reviews

We've read all these reviews, and quite frankly, they're unfair. This bed and breakfast is wonderful. It is very quaint, and exactly what you'd expect from a traditional bed and breakfast. Yes, there is no central AC, the house is in its original condition (built in 1890), and the floors creak. IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE THAT, GO THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS, THAT IS STERILE AND THE BREAKFAST IS SHIPPED IN ON A TRUCK.
P.S. Peter, the vegetarian breakfast was delicious, especially the Apple crisp.

It’s in a good location, it’s reasonably priced. I stayed on several occasions when visiting relatives living in Portsmouth. I liked the walk across the bridge from NH to Kittery and this B&B. I stayed each time in the tower room - where I almost didn’t have to get out of bed to use the sink - and there were what seemed like layer upon layer of chintz fabric draping and covering things. It felt like from a different time - and although I haven’t been there in quite awhile - as I read the slew of negative comments I was compelled to put in some good words - I wouldn’t recommend the tower room to a person allergic to dust, I would return again if the occasion presented. I remember a snowstorm when i couldn’t get there and didn’t get a refund - something to keep in mind when making arrangements.

The breakfast was cold and contained vegetarian sausage with no other option. The coffee was cold. The "apple crumble" was cold and obviously just crumbled up store-bought apple pie. The free wifi didn't reach our room and the password was not disclosed until breakfast about an hour before our checkout. No central heating or AC but that's a given in a house this old. The room itself was nice and cozy, once we turned on the space heater for a while. The house was very cluttered but gave off a bed-n-breakfast vibe. There was a nice old claw-foot bathtub with shower that had great water pressure.

Firstly we were offered a room that wasn't even available for us when we arrived although it was supposed to be available that day. We forgave that and everything was okay until the dehumidifier in the musty room started to smoke and almost caught fire. Now there is a $150 charge on our credit card, we think they charged us for their dehumidifier that broke. We didn't SIGN ANYTHING making us liable for anything, and we were not asked to pay for the busted dehumidifier, nor were we given the courtesy of being informed they would be charging us to replace this. The inn keeper is sweet but the owner doesn't do things in a legally appropriate manner. BEWARE!!! THEY MAY RUN YOUR CREDIT CARD WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE! THIS IS FRAUD! We also moved a half mile away from them and since they are our neighbors they should really resolve this issue! Thumbs down, Booooo!!! I suppose if I hadn't un-plugged the dehumidifier and the place had burned to the ground they would be suing me unless I were dead, they seem to pass on the liability to their customers. That's no way to treat a customer, the malfunction could have killed myself and my 3 year old daughter, but rather than having this in mind and being grateful for the safety and health of their customers they're punishing us for their faulty machine, like the smoke inhalation wasn't enough, sheeesh!

Place is not very clean, and don't be fooled by there name. It's no B&B,oh sorry it's a bed and bath. Not even coffee. Too old and rustic for my taste. Was inexpensive though

Be warned this place is not Enchanted it is full on haunted. Numerous people I know have had negative experiences here one person in particular potentially life-threatening. I am not joking! This place is haunted! Malevolently

If I could give a -5 stars I would!!
This was the MOST DISGUSTING place I have ever seen in my life. Notice how I didnt say stayed because there was no way in hell I would spend the night there.
When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who was wearing a t shirt that was disgustingly filthy. He showed us to a room which we stepoed into briefly. As we were leaving to go for supper the owner creepily appeared out of nowhere and announced he had given us the wrong room.. and that he would show us to the correct room when we returned. Upon returning he showed us to a hideous pink bedroom. It was so disgusting I wouldn't even take my footwear off. We set our bags on the bed and I sat on the edge of the bathtub (which appeared to be the cleanest thing in the room) I refused to sit on the bed let alone sleep in it. What I believe was supposed to be a closet had a huge gaping hole in the ceiling and I could practically see up to the next level. We were there for about 20 minutes total and after me crying saying I wouldn't stay here, my fianceƩ went to ask for our money back. The owner refused. We had booked out of necessity and the owner had asked us for "cash" which should have sent up a red flag there and then. However, after only being in the room for 20 minutes he refused any refund.
This is totally unfair and unacceptable. How can these people continue to call this a bed and breakfast? It it filthy, run by untrustworthy people, and is a total disgrace.
DO NOT STAY HERE...EVER!!!!!

The owners Peter and Nancy were extremely rude to my husband & I. So much so that we left a day early. This place claims to be pet friendly but aren't. Yes you can bring your pet but be prepared to be critiqued with how you take care of your pet.
The owners went into our room on multiple occasions to see if we had left our dog in his cage. How do I know this, because they called us and told us that we weren't allowed to leave him in his cage while we were gone for any length of time. I tried to explain to Nancy that our dog loves his cage and it is a safe space for him. Logan has never been placed in his cage as a form of punishment it's always been a reward. Even still they let him out of his cage.

On Sunday (8/6/17) we brought Logan to the dog park for over 2.5 hrs. then brought him back to the B&B so that we could go for lunch. After lunch we decided to go back to the room and bring him for a walk. We took him for a 40 min walk then put him back in the room since we were going to be meeting my parents at the Country Music Festival at Red Hook Brewery. Before we left the owner ran out and asked us how long we would be gone for because they felt that anything long then 4 hrs was inhumane.
Can't say I agree with that and like clock work exactly 4 hrs after we left they called saying we had to come back to the B&B because Logan had barked a few times. So we did we came back & PACKED ALL OUR BELONGINGS AND LEFT. We had paid for 3 nights but left after 2.

Everything about this place is awful. The bed is hard and the room is so over crowded with crap it's not even funny. They don't have AC in the rooms and they give you a fan which if you leave on, they go in your room and turn it off. They have sheer curtains up and by 6 am your room is so bright you can't sleep.

The property is run down and in great need of repair. The back yard is over grown and the fence is broken. Plus the yard was filled with dog poop and not picked up. I say that only because when we stayed there we were the only people with pets.

If you don't have pets this is an ok place to stay but after this experience I'd NEVER stay here again. The owners treated my husband and I like we were 16 yr olds who had no experience taking care of animals. I'm sorry but we are in our 30s and know exactly what needs to be done for our dog.
