Romana's Italian Kitchen

We first had pizza here when I was 19 years old. Now I live in Florida and every time I come up I go to Romano's. With my family we all meet here. I'm 66 now. The food is good everything is pretty good about this place. Absolutely no complaints I highly recommend eating here.

It was another Tuesday and we were not in the mood to cook and as usual every place you wanted to eat at was closed. We had not been to Romana’s in a year or so and that was a shame because I wish I ate this dish yesterday. She had the Eggplant Parmigiana and I had the Chicken Mediterranean. Her Eggplant dish was very organized and plentiful with nice breading and sauce that tasted wonderful with a bit more finesse and flavor than you would normally expect. You will probably be bringing half home for another delight later. I was going to get the chicken Mediterranean salad and the waitress thought I meant the dinner so I corrected her and she then described the dinner dish and I switched my mind from the dinner salad to this dinner dish. Hands down it is 1 of the very top and best dishes that I have ever had. It Melted in my mouth with an explosion of lemony butter and a hint of white wine which enticed my pallet over and over. Just look at the pictures! I had intended to eat half which in reality you could have eaten a quarter but no way! It was magnificent and cosmic with explosions of well developed textures and flavors. The price is not to be looked at because they could charge more and you would still say wow! this is a lot for the money. Thank you for reading and remember, tell them “some Guy” sent you.

Always great food, great service Thanks Megan!!! I will always return to eat here when I visit the area. It's definitely a wonderful place to meet old friends. I had a tuna grinder, and it was amazing! The antipasto was excellent!!

I walked in on a whim to order a slice of pizza yes I had to wait a few extra minutes but the person behind the counter explained to me that they wanted it to be fresh I literally could not comprehend or understand this until I tasted the food that's how good it is I have been plenty of places and I'm telling you even if you don't like pizza that much check this place out! The picture might not do it justice but the fact I couldn't stop eating should make up four it 😆

Upon arriving in Johnstown, NY the family owned and operated Romana's Italian Kitchen has been our go-to spot for a family-friendly environment with a home cooked meal that is quick and satisfying. We always walk away with food for the next day - and we are family of SIX! Our kids love the vibe and we love the service. Even if the item we requested (Buffalo chicken calzone) wasn't on the menu - they made it happen!

It is a diner and the apps are quick to cook and easy to eat.
Are we looking for perfection? No.
Are we looking for a place that loves our four kids and serves us well? Yes.

It fits the bill for us and we highly recommend it.

I can't say enough about this place. Every one of the ladies at the counter are nice and very friendly. I order from here all the time. The Greek salad is phenomenal. Today, I ordered, but they forgot the grilled chicken. No problem. They made the chicken right away and I came to get it. When I came back to my office, and opened the chicken, it has some special sauce on it. I don't know what it is but DEFINITELY get that sauce!!!!!! The wings are also great!!!!

I have eaten at numerous places all over the US and this is one of the only ones I came back to consistently when I lived in Johnstown, and I love visiting it whenever I am back in town. It’s a good red sauce restaurant pizza joint with everything on the menu being good but here are my personal highlights.
1. Grinders are bigger, better, and cheaper than subway
2. House made blue cheese and great wings
3. Calzone portions are huge and you can get them fried (a small was enough for 2 people)
4. Great service

Great little local pizza place with a bigger than normal menu. Greek options as the owner is Greek. Turkey Reuben and Antipasto A+

Went with a friend, had a very tasty broiled seafood platter. Waitress was busy, but pleasant.

Good quality food, great portions with excellent prices. Singapore wings extra crispy with their signature blue cheese is awesome.

Service was outstanding! Food was delicious, generous portions. Highly recommend.

The vegetarian casserole was wonderful, the eggplant was tasty, but thicker than I like. The sauce on the side pasta was just okay.

The service was exceptional the waitresses name is Brittany ask for her she made it perfect for me and my wife. Thank you Brittany.

It is truly a very nice place and the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable.

It’s a tradition to eat here when we come visit family. Good Italian food.

Went there today 2/1/24). Food was delicious. Waitress was very busy but still was very pleasant and gave great service. Highly recommend
