Had a great get away experience. Met a few long time campers 40+ years very friendly, and welcoming. Ellen, who was very accommodating and sweet. Forgot our garden hose at home, and offered to help us out by lending us hers for our ice castle. Came for 1 night....stayed for 2. Definitely the place to remember for our next outing.

Note: This is not a 5 star resort with swimming pool, etc. That's not what we were looking for. This is a family owned location where we could stay with our RV. Very hospitable. Water, Electric, Waste hookup. Very peaceful location. Nice fishing lake for my husband and his 2 children. Perfect for our Father's Day Weekend getaway. We had found this place last March when we needed a place to park due to weather/snow. We decided to come back this weekend, most spots are booked for the holiday weekend. The price for the weekend was reasonable. Plus there was an option to rent one of their boats for $10 per day. We brought our own motor. Kids loved fishing off the dock and caught lots of fish. This place is mostly for seasonal renters. There were not a lot of folks around, very quiet and enjoyable. One comment my husband had was the fishing cleaning area, there was a garbage can for fish waste that hadn't been emptied and was stinky. (That fishing cleaning area wasn't near where our trailer was located. So not really an issue.) Overall, great location for our weekend getaway. The utilities we needed were there, plenty of space for RV camping. And peaceful!! We will definitely plan on staying here again.

Great, flat tent sites! Lots of good buddies all around. Ellen told us right where the bathroom was and we found it on the first try. So happy to be set up and relaxing. Ready to ride Cuyuna!

This is my fishing spot - absolutely the BEST Bass fishing in Minnesota - and wonderful, quiet campground with water and electric for only $30/night - I spent my 44th birthday there with family, and had the BEST time ever. Ellen is the sweetest woman I have ever met - she put my zip-lock baggies in her freezer for me and I went home with over 10lbs of fish. I will NEVER go anywhere else. Thank you Ellen!

Overall, we had a good time camping, but I'd say it is definitely more of a RV park and RV campground (we were tenting). The lady who runs it was really sweet, but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting when I pulled up. VERY laid back and easy going, not much business around it. My few comments to campers:

- Overall, the sites weren't that well taken care of. We got to our tent site and the fire pit was growing a patch of really tall weeds, I'm assuming no one had been there for awhile. We had to move it to another area. A lot of the sites were really sandy vs hard soil or grass. Our site also did not have a picnic table, and there weren't that many around. Luckily the people a few sites down left that day after we arrived, so we went and took that one. If we didn't have that, I'd probably give two stars (trying to cook breakfast without a picnic table was not fun!). I think the primitive sites may have been a bit better, but this was just our experience on the electric/water ones. If I were to go back, we would do primitive.
- The shower house was no bueno. It was literally a one room shed that had both a shower and toliet that wasn't that well taken care of. It did the job for having a flush toilet, which is what I needed, but I definitely would not have taken a shower. When someone did take a shower, the whole floor became a giant puddle. Plus, with these both being in the same room, if someone was taking a shower and you really had to go, you were out a bathroom. There also wasn't any soap.
- There wasn't any firewood (even though the sign says no outside firewood), so after we got all settled we had to go back into town to get some, which was mostly annoying because we got in later and just wanted to relax.
