Had them yesterday. Ordered smothered turkey, dressing and mac & cheese. Thoroughly impressed with the presentation and taste. When I’m not visiting my friend’s bakery/restaurant, this will be my go-to spot. It’s like a hidden gem. I even called the staff to compliment them on their culinary skills. Very friendly and polite. Will be back!

The food was amazing. We had the ribs, catfish, chicken wings, yams, greens and macaroni. We couldn't take photos because we ate it soo fast. Don't be deterred by having to pull the string to get into the restaurant. The food is worth it.

Parking is in front of the building. Soul food is very good. The greens, cabbage and yams are all very good. Mac and cheese, is good as well. I’ve tried a few things and the service was good. My only issue was the fried chicken breast dinner was decent not my favorite item. But catfish is good and pork chops were good too and my go to items. Go check them out.

I could not even finish my plate before I started writing this review! Hands down some of the BEST DAMN soul food I've ever had! I ordered the lamb chops dinner with loaded potatoes and mac n Cheese! The seasoning was devine! My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken breast with dressing and collard greens! And Everything was finger-licking delicious! On top of the food tasting like It was heaven-sent, Ms.Gina displayed superb customer service. She was pleasant, friendly, and made me feel right at home for my first visit to Detroit! Do NOT miss out on this Detroit gem!!!

MooreSoul Food catered an event at our work. This food was amazing; we had wings, catfish, greens, Mac, stuffing, and sweet potato pie. They even worked though my order on their day off! Everyone was so nice and helpful, they carried the food to my car. I just can’t say enough about how delicious everything was. Everyone at work loved it too!

I love the fried pork chops dinner…and fried chicken…my favorite sides are, sweet potatoes, Mac n’ cheese, collards and corn.

My BFF and I were up visiting from Cincinnati. Found them on Google. The menu and photos looked amazing. After reading the reviews I was sold. Plus it's located .7 miles from her cousins house. Winning!!! They're really nice and even called me when the food was ready since there was a small wait time. I ordered the half chicken which came with 2 sides and corn bread. I chose the loaded mashed potatoes, green beans and potatoes and added an order of collard greens. She had the wings dinner with 2 sides cornbread and we shared the greens. I'm glad we ate there and we will be back next time we're in town! This is the first having food look just like the online and menu photos. That chicken melted in my mouth. I slept for 3 hours. Before heading home to Cincinnati. That food sure did soothe my soul!!!

Absolutely phenomenal soul food the smothered pork chops were mouthwatering good, the baked jac and cheese is a must try,the oxtail was nothing short of stupendous.. tasty tender and seasoned to perfection,I can't wait to go back..oh, the collard greens were fire 😋

YES. LORD. It's a Thursday and I feel like I've had a Sunday meal. We googled this place (we are visiting from Kentucky) and the reviews were great so we pulled up! The food, seasonings, all that was on POINT. Truly. Real potatoes. The gravy on the smothered porkchops was... top notch. The porkchops themselves were so tender. The fried catfish, perfectly seasoned. It was great! The peach cobbler is a sin... like it's so good. The banana pudding is... so good. Just overall great! So refreshing to find something great! The atmosphere was 4 stars onlyyy because one of the tables were broken when we sat in to eat and about fell. Which has nothing to do with the food. Go there ANYWAY. 5 stars. Amen!

Go on any Sunday I can for an oxtail dinner due to it being a Sunday item but the menu has a variety. Love them!! It's one of the best Soul food restaurants in Detroit. Trust me, if you haven't tried em yet, mark my words you're gonna love this place too, lol.

I love food. When the food you receive is served hot, the color is spot on and so appealing to the eye, couldn't ask for a better presentation. The family feeling I got today as the kids were laughing and cleaning up the seating area puts your mind at ease. So respectful and well spoken. They are a great representation of what any parent would want. This place won me over last year. I now am a regular. Thank you for being awesome!!!!

The food is exceptionally good!! Don’t sleep on them; The baked chicken is always delicious and consistent, dressing is bomb!..yam, Mac, smothered pork chops melt in your mouth. Oxtails are tender. I had black eyes peas and real rice not uncle bens. I drive 30 minutes to come here.

Excellent Soul Food. Everything tasted good including the cornbread and the turkey was moist. Great serving sizes. Turkey, dressing, greens and mac n cheese. But very disappointed I didn't receive my banana pudding I paid for. But it won't keep me from a second visit, I'll just make sure to check my bag.
