Lockhart's BBQ

The atmosphere was amazing! The music was jamming and not to loud. The drinks were very very good! Our server was very nice and helpful. The food was so very very good!! Chicken was juicy. The ribs were fall off the bone good. The Mac n cheese was out of this world amazing!! The brisket was so tender and juicy!! When we go back to Detroit it's a must have again!!

Kasie was an absolute pleasure of a server. We loved her. Food was spectacular, good portions and high quality. Can’t recommend this place enough! They have a lot of NA options including beer and mocktails. And I love when they give you those little wet naps to keep your paws clean. Also, prices are very reasonable!

The atmosphere is great. The waiter J was good. The food was delicious. The specialty drinks have no price on the menu and we didn't pay attention before ordering. They were $12+ a piece. They were very strong with liqueur which some may like and others not so much. The cornbread is extra not included...that was strange. It did come with 1 slice of bread and that was hard. If you pick brisket or ribs it is extra on the 2-3 meat meal.They did have half off appetizers while we were there and the fried green beans and sauce were excellent. You do have to pay for parking because it's downtown. Overall it was a good experience but a little expensive at $86 + tip for two.

We hosted a 30th birthday party at Lockhart's, in their lower level, private area. We couldn't have been happier with this venue. The food, service, and staff were excellent. Sandy and Autumn, the event coordinators, were great to work with. Our friends and family loved the food and atmosphere. We ordered the brisket and pulled pork for our event and both were amazing. Thank you to everyone at Lockhart's. We will definitely be back.

Lockharts was a place of hardship. A hardship of eating so many delicious THINGS. I was there for a celebratory event and so my mouth had the chance to meet mac & cheese, chicken, cow: cooked deliciously. The venue had a vibe like no other bbq place I had ever been to. I couldn’t be stopped, nor would I have wanted to. This place does nothing to tear itself apart. Excited for you to go. THANK YOU DETROIT!!

Got delivery from here in the mood for a well crafted sandwich. Got the Longhorn Brisket Sandwich which was absolutely delicious. Also got the a la Carte pork sausage, 2 sauces, and corn bread. Everything came out fresh with great taste.

The BBQ was great, the beef rib was gigantic and the beef brisket was so tender we couldn't move it without it falling apart. We had coleslaw and red skin potatoes, both were ok but trying too hard in my opinion. The potatoes were a little undercooked for my liking as well. But the place looks great, the servers were attentive and awesome. The banana bread pudding was fantastic.

What a terrific place! Best cornbread ever. Hush puppies out of this world. Husband raved about the chili. Spicy sausage had a nice little kick. Pulled pork and beef rib were delicious.
Located right next to the Henry Ford Hospital. So glad we found this place. We'll be back, for sure.

Extremely delicious burnt brisket tips!! And plate of nachos is just enormously huge and tasty as well! Great place to have some bbq ! interior is nice with large windows to enjoy the park view. Ans service was friendly and fast!

I love this place! I have been coming here for years. It’s definitely one of the best barbecue restaurants in Michigan. I recommend just about everything on the menu. They also have a decent beer selection. The ONLY complaint I have is that I recently ordered meat à la carte for take out , and the sausage is by the 1/2 lb, but when I got it home, there was only one link. Now when I go to the meat market to buy links, they are fat, and there are about five links in a pound, so that one skinny link is definitely not a 1/2 lb.

This was the only place that was immediately available to seat my wife and I. Not only was the service extremely quick, but the atmosphere was cheery and upbeat.

You can tell that friends come here for good food and good times. I'll definitely be coming back here when I'm in the area.

The bacon appetizer was the perfect mixture of sweet and spicy. The Mac and cheese Shepard's pie was fulfilling and the portion size was perfect. Hats off to you guys, keep on doing what you're doing, it's working well.

Great food, great service and a really nice restaurant in the heart of Royal Oak. We had been to their Oxford location a few times and even had them cater my retirement party, but this was our first time visiting their Royal Oak restaurant. The food was spectacular. We both had pulled pork and brisket and like our prior experience with the Lockhart's, it was awesome. Their coleslaw, baked beans and sweet potato fries were also delicious. It's pretty far from our house, but I'll find a reason to get back there someday.

If the owners happen to see this, Richmond, MI could use a BBQ joint. I'd definitely be a regular. I'm not sure what happened in Oxford, but I'd be a regular there too if you guys ever open a new location there. Romeo's really nice too. Just a few ideas if you're interested in expanding.

A nice rustic atmosphere in downtown Royal Oak. I enjoy the burnt ends (15 hours, smoked brisket ends in barbecue sauce!). The staff here is friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Amazing place to stop and hang out. The chef truly knows his food. You will rarely find a bbq place with real flavor and this place is filled with amazing flavor. Perfect service. Great chill vibe inside and the food is more than you’re expecting. Do yourself a favor and try this spot.

Only my second time here, but it's going to be a regular spot. The BBQ bowl is incredibly flavorful, but this rum and coke made by Emily hit all the right spots. 10/10 <3

BBQ meatloaf was good but dry. The gravy was simply drizzled on like it was only for presentation.

This is the place to be! Justin was our server he was friendly, smiled informative, knowledgable and did everything right to make our first dining experience at Lockhart's BBQ in Royal Oak the best experience. Our eyes were satisfied with sharing the variety platter, I forgot to take a picture when it arrived to our table, we were so excited! Here are some exciting moments I captured! It was one time I couldn't stop eating. There were briskets cooking on the fired up grill, A pickled carrots, pickle and onion taster, a variety of BBQ sauces Signature, Hot, Sweet & Carolina. A platter with Dry Rubbed Meats including Brisket (choice of lean, marbled or combination) Ribs, Pulled Pork, Sausage and Sliced Texas Bread! Plus add 2 sides, we chose the Cole Slaw and Potatoe Wedges.
Note they have Family and group Meals for a variety of tastebuds up to 12 people a great treat for a business group or just a fun night out!
It was the biggest meal for 2. The menu will keep you coming back for more. They do serve a variety of beverages including alcohol. Restrooms are clean and Handicap accessible. They had lines out the door on Friday early evening so we decided to return Saturday after a movie around 4pm and we were able to be seated right away!

Suggestion look online at their menu so you can be ready to order, many excellent choices. There are hidden treasures like a BBQ Bowl and Ceasar Salad with options to add brisket or chicken. We'll be back with the rest of the family for sure!
