Jay was sent by Summit to repair our defective fridge. He did nothing, dodged my attempts to reach him by phone-call and text for weeks, finally answered one call, assured me parts were on the way, and then completely disappeared. Two months ago. Last time I called, his number was disconnected. Yet Summit still assured me he had received the parts and would be arriving yesterday (Wednesday, 7/14/21) to do the work. To our total lack of surprise, he never called or showed. There is a reason nearly every review here is scathing. This is not a legitimate business. You’ve been warned.

Warning: Find somebody else. Anybody else. If you decide to just set your appliance on the curb and forget this guy, you'll be better off. It'll still cost you less time and money than dealing with owner, Jay.

Jay lied several times to us and to our home warranty company and cost us our coverage. I cannot imagine how a person who is so dishonest is still managing to get business. Jay's lack of basic competence cost us thousands of dollars and hours and HOURS of time.

Sold me new $800+ fridge on 8year warranty, but 6 months later refused to fix it or even remove it for over a year. I delivered it to him for refund, but he wasn't there and nobody returned my calls. Jay was always out of the store when I showed up in person multiple times over the next 6 months. I finally gave up. Refused to service, refused to remove, refused to refund my money and refused any correspondence for nearly 2 years. Warehouse burned down after I gave up and Jay was surely paid for the loss by insurance. I was not reimbursed for food loss or my investment.

Zero stars, warranty claim opened 3 weeks and never got a call, rescheduled 3 times and never got a call. Said he would order a part so we could have the stove by Thanksgiving and never showed up. Spoke to the new repair man and found out that this guy is actually Jay from Jay's small engine and appliance who my father worked for in the 80's, Known for keeping people's stuff until they forget about it and then selling it. More better business reports against this guy than the local pyramid schemers. No staff, lies straight to your face. The guy is a total skam artist.

This company receives zero stars from me. Jay is the owner and makes all service calls. If you have an appliance under warranty do not call this man! He comes out to diagnose the problem and says he is going to order parts and it would be 7 - 10 days. We called him five or six times over the following 4 weeks only to get no call back and the brush off. After a month of no service we finally got another company out to look at our fridge and this other gentleman said Jay has been known to collect the funds for the warranty repair and never go back out to actually fix the appliance. Jay also "tapped the lines" so the new repair guy could not diagnose the problem. We have had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of food only days after purchasing it. After this happened, I checked out the Better Business Bureau's website and there were nine similar complaints in the last three years about this business (also named Jay's Small Engine and Appliance Service). Stay far away from Jay and Appliance City.

This dude is a liar. I had such a terrible experience with Appliance City. I opened a claim with my home warranty company that was given to Appliance City. I was told that I would get a call to schedule within a day, 3 days later, after not having gotten a call, I called them. The girl who answered the phone couldn't have acted any less interested in talking to a customer, I was told I'd get a call back...I never did. I called again a couple days later and still nothing. Finally, I called the warranty company and they were able to connect with Jay while I was on the phone and we got an appointment scheduled. He came out, told me the microwave would need to be replaced and said he'd contact the warranty company to get it approved. A week later, I called him and he said he was waiting to hear back from the warranty company and he'd let me know when he did. A week later, I called him and he said he was waiting to hear back from the warranty company and he'd let me know when he did. A week later, I called him and he said he was waiting to hear back from the warranty company and he'd let me know when he did. See the pattern? Finally, I called the warranty company and they said they'd never heard from him. After a huge complaint my work order was given to a different company, and I had a technician out within a day. Turns out it was a bad door latch, a $3 part. After 5 weeks, I finally have my microwave back...no thanks to Appliance City. I have no idea how this guy has a business, he stinks of burning pants...liar, liar.

Sadly we didn't have the greatest experience with this company. Our TV needed to be repaired and the company, Hisense, scheduled to have these guys come out and fix it. They were scheduled, according to the Hisense employee to come out June 28. We called them at 3:30 after nobody had shown up yet and were told sometimes they're still doing repairs up till 9. Then never showed up that night and nobody called to say why. We assumed they'd be out the following day figuring they just got behind on the day before. We called them in the morning on the 29th and the man answering the phone answered it by saying "What?" very rudely. We were told someone would get back to us. That night we called Jay on his cell phone to see if he was coming or what was going on. He said he had a ton of repairs to do on fridges and would be out to see us Friday. He never showed up........We got ahold of Hisense and they've given our repair order to a different company. They said they're going to make a note of this incident and not do any more business with Appliance City

This is the worst repair service I have ever encountered. Jay lied to me the first time he was supposed to show up, lied the second time and finally came to look at my refrigerator. Almost two months later and 50 phone calls it is still not fixed. Here are a few lies he told me, "UPS isn't delivering in the whole US today." "There are no tracking numbers for the parts." "It left the warehouse but it can't be located" "I will see if the part came in and put it in tonight" "I have the part in Portland and will pick it up today and put it in tomorrow:|" That was the last I heard from him. He should not be allowed to continue to run his business. He even has his daughter working for him and she is now passing along the lies for him. Shame on you Jay you are a terrible human being that would lie to a paying customer. I don't know how you sleep at night!!!!!!!

I ordered a part several months ago I was told may tag would cover the part cause I took out a filter that is inside the cold water inlet so a cold water valve went bad the tech Jay says he is also the owner says the part always fails. The point to this is it has been 3 or 4 months we are out 100.00 dollars and our power bill has gone up due to using more hot water than usual. I finally spoke to Jay he claims the part was on back order I asked why wasn't I told this he says we only call when the part comes in I said so why wasn't I called his reply was he doesn't know but yet he is the owner I told him to keep the 100 and just put the part in he said no he doesn't want to loose 140 dollars I replied but if u are the owner and are always busy u can afford to do that for the inconvenience but you are refusing to do so then I asked how much the part is he said 140.00 I the said I would cover half of that so he wouldn't be out everything he still refused so I called a few choice words and hung up so I called Maytag to file a complaint who I am on the phone with now. After talking to Maytag they agreed to cover the cost due to the huge inconvenience. I would honestly say if you live in the androscroggin area and maybe a bit beyond you may not want to get a maytag or whirlpool product just because of really bad contractor services which stinks because Maytag and whirlpool build nice stuff

Our home warranty company contracted our claim for our dishwasher to this company, and they were inconsistent with responding, and when they would schedule appointments they would no-call/no-show.

THis place and its manager is disgusting. Complete train wreck of a business. Washer under warranty and a part was ordered on 10/31/17 and it is now 12/30/17 and still not fixed. Over five hours on the phone total trying to get this resolved. Do yourself a favor and get a pet monkey to do your repair work, you’ll get farther.

No one shows up when appointments are made. No one answers the phone. The manager doesn't even have a voicemail you can use. Horrible company, use anyone else if at all possible.
