The service for my father was nice. The flowers, the room, and my father looked good. The location is convenient. And there is plenty of parking. They have a little area downstairs to bring food or refreshments if you'd like. They provide tea and coffee. That being said. And after much consideration, I'll never bring my buisness to Smits again. Don, one of the directors, is mean and nasty. He ruined this entire process for me. He was condescending, unwilling to listen, used a demanding tone, and just scribbeled on the paper while yelling at me over an unpaid bill my father, who just died, didnt pay for my mothers services 2 years previous at the dyer location. Literally, yelling, and waving a book of unpaid debt to me. It was the first thing he spoke to me about after saying hello. And the second thing he spoke about after I said 3 words to him, and the most important thing to him our whole conversation. After leaving the same day he planned the service, I left a very detailed review on google, but before i recieved my fathers ashes a day or 2 after the service, Don asked me to remove my review. His reason, "Well, because, ya know in the future." And he was sorry if he, "Added to my pain." Which isn't a reason at all, nor did it feel like he was apologising for his behavior, but just apologising for the way I felt. Of course i removed it at that time, I was fed up with dude and about to cuss him out, but i just wanted my fathers ashes, and for this nightmare to end. I sent a family memeber to pick up the ashes, so I wouldn't have to deal with Don again in my life. I will never forget how horrible i was treated by Don. My family has had about 7 to 10 services there in the last 15 years, totaling 1,000s of dollars to the various smits homes, and the 1,300 oweed on my mothers, service was all Don cared about.

I gave 3 stars for the first few things i mentioned that i found went well, and took 2 off simply for Dons behaviour.
