What a great little surprise Casey Illinois. I had never been in the area. We were passing through and someone told us we needed to come here. We're glad we did. What a beautiful little town. We love exploring small American towns and sharing it on our YouTube channel (adventuresoversover50) we see so many little towns that are dying it was nice to see what one man's Vision could do for a tiny town. Small town pride is obvious here. Beautiful gardens and well manicured lawns.

Located in a very beautiful small town full of photo worthy oddities. Wind chime actually works, you can walk up and pull a cord to hear it in action. Right across the street from the world's largest rocking chair, so be sure to bring your camera! If you have time to stroll down the street there are lots unique attractions that are definitely worth seeing. Family friendly activities all along the street, so bring the kids!

Coolest town ever!! the Wind chimes were a real treat. Very few visiting on the Sunday we stopped in! Beautiful setting, well kept grounds and gorgeous landscaping! The mailbox was really amazing and they even have a mail slot for you to mail letters!! We drove here to see the rocking chair and were pleasantly surprised to see the multiple large and quirky items! Highly recommend for a unique road side stop!!

I love wind chimes, so this one was especially exciting to find, and it's interactive! Its set in a pretty garden area, outside a Cafe. You can go into the garden and pull the cord to make it chime. So fun! Another fun roadside attraction that we loved in this little town while passing through.

Hard to believe that something this large is truly a working object, but these wind chimes really work! They are a sight to be seen!

The town of Casey Illinois is probably the cutest town you can ever visit. Especially during the holidays. They go all out and hold true to traditions older than most peoples great grandparents. The coolest part of Casey is the fact that they hold the record for having the most largest items in one town. Some include largest lead pencil, largest knitting needle, ect. Give it a visit. It will not disappoint.

It was fun checking out all the BIG THINGS in this small town. I brought 2 kids along and they had a blast hunting the various big objects and running from one to the next. While walking the local postman directed us to one of the objects we had trouble locating, & two friendly locals gave us directions.

It's free to walk down the street & look at the objects. The giant mailbox was awesome, the kids loved going up into it and looking out.

See if you can find the cactus, bikes, minion, and chairs made of twigs! The big yardstick and big pencil were cool as well.

Casey IL Big Things Small Town. These " road side attractions were built to save a small town that was dying like so many around the country. The landscaping is beautiful. It started with the wind chime (worlds largest G world book) and then the rocking chair, mail box (you can actually mail letters from inside). It seems a herculean community effort. Nice cafe, stores and people and bravo to them great idea.

While traveling East on I 70, we decided to make a stop in Casey to see some of the sights that we had heard about in our travels. We were not disappointed. WOW the giant Wind Chime was spectacular and you could take your time to enjoy. A bit later we wandered into a huge open air warehouse were the workers took time and chatted explaining how Jim Bolin got the town got hooked on building large novelties. Enjoy their hard work, that includes giant; Knitting Needles, Pitch Fork, Golf Tee, a 36' Yardstick, Rocking Chair, Token and more. These are great people who took time out of their day, fun to talk with and were friendly. Then stop at the little Coffee Shop next to the Wind Chime it was a pleasure. This was a great stop and we encourage you if your passing by, take some time and enjoy.

I love this so much. I love wind chimes. This one is the World's largest wind Chime. Certified by the Guinness Book Of World Records. You can pull the rope to make it chime. Check out the pictures.

We we're driving from New York to Colorado so we stopped here to take a few pictures and have lunch at the Whitling Wimsy. We got breakfast food and it was good. We took a few pictures of the big items around because they were all within a few distance of one another. There were other people walking around taking pictures to who were from out of town or state. It's definitely a cute little town to take pictures at and to check out

Amazing big (functional) chime, which, like all wind chimes, breaks occasionally. This has broken twice in the past 10 years, according to a local resident with whom we spoke. So we happened to be there on the day it was being repaired. We got to see a functional wind chime, and a broken wind chime. The setting is in a beautiful little corner lot with gorgeous landscaping, next to a small cafe owned by the man who built the wind chime, Mr Bolin.

What a cool attraction. It's totally free. The town is full of the 'World's Largest' items and this was the one I first heard about. It is attached to a cafe where you can buy a map of the attractions. The windchime is interactive so go ahead and give it a pull. It is great for the whole family and pet friendly.

Usually they blow free in the wind, but this one is a little heavy and requires some visiting help! Walk on over and give it a tug!
