Carthage Gap Camp

Excellent campground! Centrally located for bikers to do the windy9. Thresa and Chris are awesome hosts. We were even invited to their bimonthly soup bean potluck! Was yummy! Oh ya the ice cream truck even came through!! Check out the GoMart food it was awesome!!

Spacious, level parking spaces with lush green grass. All the amenities you'd expect- sewer, water, power, playgrounds, and bath house. Park is very well-maintained. The owner was friendly and guided me into my space. Other campers are respectful and quiet. It really feels like you're in a secret oasis in the woods. We didn't want to leave! This place is a gem worth the drive.

Teresa and Chris are wonderful hosts.
The campground is peaceful and absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well kept and there's no loud music aloud after hours, which is great for us.
Everyone here is welcoming and so friendly.
We'll be here a while longer, so happy to have a safe and homey place to park our home away from home.

Clean Campground service is excellent.the..the owners make you feel like family .

Nicest campground we have been too! Everyone so friendly yet COVID aware. Nice big camp sites. We used one of their pull through sites for our 38foot camper. No issues at all. Felt very safe. Grounds nicely maintained. Even had an ice cream truck come around both nights which was fun. Recommended without reservation.

Very accessible, very secluded, very clean and well maintained. The owners were generous, kind and accomodating. Our site was perfectly level, and there is generous, grassy space between sites. We stayed for a week, would love to return for another stay.

We have stayed at this campground several times and will keep coming back. Wonderful Owners which take great pride to keep the grounds in top notch condition. Very quiet place with plenty of small wildlife to observe. Spacious sites. 2 clean ponds for swimming and fishing. Great free internet that actually works. Very clean bath-house and washer dryer.

Very nice place, my daughters and her family are in their second year of camping there. Safe place, kids can run and play freely. Lots take bikes. Have a playground and basketball court and can fish and swim. Owners seem very nice.

As parents of an Ohio University student, we have come to love this campground when visiting the area as it is only minutes away from campus. The owners are beyond friendly and helpful. The campground, situated in a secluded country setting, is very clean, well maintained, and accommodates RVs/campers of all sizes. It's one that makes our permanent "must camp" list!

If you in your head an image of a great American campground, it you have seen a film where there is a wood and a lake and amazing owners then you are in for a treat coming here. The site is fantastic, the owners are the best. You couldn't ask for a more authentic slice of the American dream than being up here. Beautiful

After 2 aggravating nights at another "campground" about an hour south/southeast of here, we loaded up the camper and made our way to Carthage Gap. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate us and everyone we've met in the campgrounds was super nice. The bathrooms/bath house are super clean and more home like then most anywhere I've been. We're bless to find a place that my family can be comfortable at while I'm working. Highly recommend this facility!

We spent a week at the campground and can't say enough good things about it. It was very well kept. The owners were very helpful and very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Nice quiet park that is convenient to Athens. Our site was level and spacious, with a picnic table and fire ring. The park overall seemed quiet and clean, and the owners were super nice. We highly recommend this park and will visit again when we are in the area.

We were passing thru this area anjd we stayed 2 nights in a pull-thru. Chris and his wife were helpful in getting us to our site. We didn't use any of the facilities but observed a very clean park, quiet setting and right off the highway. If ever in this area again, we will stay here. Thanks. A & L from Florida

This is such a wonderful place to camp. If you love peace and quiet then this place is for you. The owners are so friendly and helpful. It is a great place to get away.

This campsite is very very well maintained they also serve food they sell eggs straight from the farm and they have a kitchen but c19 is kind of held things up lots of parking space all the hookups you would need beautiful up there

I've camped here since the early '90s. Swimming at the lake, fishing (they stock the lakes), playground for the kids and best of all... ICE CREAM TRUCK!! It comes around once or twice a day, so bring cash!
They also have WiFi... but hey, YOU'RE CAMPING so enjoy the outdoors. At least if you get caught in the rain while you're there you have the option.

Great campground! Chris and Teresa are gracious owners who do meticulous upkeep on the facility. No Highway noise here! Highly recommend this campground.

Great place. Easy access. Pulled our 40ft trailer in no problem. Owners are very nice. We'll be back.

Wooded area, ponds, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We have stayed five times over the last fifteen years for business. And it is always a wonderful experience
