I’ve had both family members and friends go to Geri and his staff at Alexia Gavela for their wedding dress needs. He was the first person I thought of when my daughter needed a dress for her quinceañera. I called Geri and asked about quinceañera dresses. He told me that although he doesn’t usually keep those dresses in stock, he had several vendors that he could order from. We picked a dress and it was absolutely perfect! Not only was he able to get it in time with our short timeline, she was still able to get the “royal treatment” with trying the dress on in the store and making sure it was a perfect fit. The alterations made sure the dress fit her exactly as we wanted it. Anytime anyone asks, I immediately refer them to Geri and his staff at Alexia Gavela. They will make sure you are well taken care of.

Geri was extremely helpful with my bridesmaids dresses. He has a lot of knowledge about the designers and what flatters people to make them feel their best. We took a while and were still early in the dress picking process, and never felt rushed or pressured to buy right then.

I worked with Geri to find the perfect bridesmaid dress. He recommended a dress style that would look good with my shape, and it ended up being the style that I loved the most and purchased. He knows his stuff! It was a fun and comfortable experience.. a beautiful, cute shop that is an Austin gem.

If you're looking for Bridal dresses and/or Mother of the Bride dresses, please do yourself a favor and go see Geri (pronounced like "Jerry"). I had been to 3 other places before, and decided to book a last minute appointment here. Geri knocked it out of the park. I gave him an idea of the shape and detailing I wanted. I didn't even show him pictures, but every dress he pulled was SO lovely and so unique. I booked a follow up with my mom so she could see the dress, and I said yes to the dress!

After that, we had some time leftover, so we asked about Mother of the Bride dress. My mom had an idea of what she wanted, but Geri pulled something a little different. My mom tried it on and we all gasped. She didn't try on anymore dresses, and we bought it that day.

I used Alexia Gavela for my bridal alterations only. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in deciding how to hem my dress. It was different in that it was an ivory tulle dress with a lace overlay that needed to be pinned onto the dress. They loved the look so much that they ordered overlays for their in house dresses to try! I mean, I know I loved my dress but it was just so special to know that professionals in the business did too. Small place with a big heart!! Love this place!!

WOW! So, I will start by saying that I have not found the perfect dress for me just yet, but I did find a top contender.

The location is super cute and they carry a lot of beautiful dresses that I hadn't already seen. Jerry was incredible! I absolutely loved working with him. I came by myself to this appointment, and he truly made me feel comfortable. I will definitely be back!

My daughter went there in 2012 and found phenomenal customer service and the gown of her dreams. Gerry even gave her champagne to commemorate her selection. He customized the gown to her liking. Warm, genuine and accommodating. Her gown is still a very unique and so different from the norm. What a fantastic salon.

The staff at Alexia Gavela helped me to select the PERFECT dress for my wedding. I told the staff what I was looking for and they completely understood my vision. After trying only 2 dresses, I found my dress. My dress was absolutely stunning and affordable. It was a showstopper and I received so many compliments. I highly recommend Alexia Gavela to all future brides looking for the perfect wedding dress.

I ordered my dress this past Saturday and I am so happy I went with Alexia Gavela. I went to another salon to try the dress on and when I went to Alexia, my intention was to see if there was another dress I loved more then the one I tried on at the other salon. I showed my stylist the dress I tried on and he gave me another 6-7 dresses. Some different and some the same style. My favorite thing about the stylist was he was so honest. The dress I tried on wasn't even from his salon and he said "you won't find another dress that makes you look as happy as you do in that picture". I could have easily left and went back to the salon and ordered it from there but I stayed at Alexia and they were able to order the dress with only $500 down. I can't wait to get it and continue working with these wonderful people.

I have to say that the people at this shop are amazing!! The dresses were the best of all the places we went in Austin! The staff went above and beyond and the guys were so fabulous to my daughter, and they got everything done that she wanted to the dress and were so nice about it. They made her feel so comfortable and like she was part of their family. When we went to pick up her dress they were so giving and made sure everything was perfect, and what they did for her with the Veil was so surprising and generous, it just made me cry!! I have to say in helping my daughter with her wedding, this was the best experience of all the places we dealt with. And her dress and the wedding was beautiful... I couldn't be happier for her. Thanks to Alexa Gavela for helping to make it one of the most amazing and memorable days of her life!! I know we'll be back when my younger daughter gets married...LOL, and we don't even need to go anywhere else. 😊😙

Geri and the team are fabulous! Geri just has the vision and touch to make you look gorgeous. The seamstress is amazing as well. They took great care of me, and I knew I was in good hands for my wedding day. Highly recommend.

Can’t speak highly enough of Geri’s knowledge, service and calm demeanor! We arrived on Saturday afternoon, 30 minutes before closing, pretty stressed out after a 2 month, but unfruitful search for the right mother of the groom dress brought us to this unassuming building on Crawford.
Little did we know this business has been in Austin for over 19 years.
Thirty five minutes later, dress fitted, ordered, and photographed for family to see, we left relieved and very grateful.
Geri and Chris understood what I was looking for, made suggestions on what they felt would be flattering and fit the occasion, and then worked to make the perfect dress arrive in time, with room to spare for a finishing touch alteration.
And when the topic of shoes for the dress arose, Geri pointed us to Spring Frost on Burnet, another fabulous find.
If you ever feel like Austin’s gotten too big/commercial to offer the charm and service found in specialty stores... I promise you a visit to Alexia Gavela and Spring Frost will convince you otherwise!

Not only was finding my dress a dream experience, but the process of alterations, and veil/belt selections all went so smoothly. They are so knowledgable and good at what they do. My dress was literally the most perfect thing i could have ever imagined, and very comfortable, i didn't want to ever take it off!
