24 Hour Fitness

Had a major problem with one of the managers at this location; however, I spoke with the actual General Manager of the store, Adam, and he made sure that my concerns were heard and addressed. He’s the real representation of what a general manager can and should look like, I can totally understand why the higher ups made the decision to put him “in charge of the ship”. With him as the GM, I trust that things will only get better for the gym as a whole from here on out. Shout out to Adam for being an awesome GM!

I trained with Personal Trainer Wendy for two months while recovering from a broken foot. I am also a 24-hour fitness instructor, but I had not hired a trainer in a few years. When I broke my foot, I was really down and realized I had gained a lot of weight. I knew I needed help, so I asked Wendy--my coworker. We immediately hit it off with workout ideas. I started in sessions with her in a boot--recovering from my foot fracture. She was tough and believed in me. As my brace came off and I was cleared for more workouts, Wendy has been there along the way. She has literally held my arm for balance. She has seen me be extremely frustrated, and she has helped me gain confidence session by session. Thank you Wendy!

I’ve been trying to cancel my membership since April. After numerous calls to the 1-800 number with no avail I called the gym. They recommend I cancel online, however, the online portal does not allow me to cancel. When I called the center back they told me that is common and to come in.

I finally got a chance to go to the center the employee was apprehensive on canceling my membership. He refused to refund the charge from July and August and let me speak to the GM. The GM lacked ability to do anything other than sign members up for memberships. He told me to call the 1-800 number and when I told him customer service is closed he shrugged his shoulders.

As I was leaving the gym the General Manager snickered. He lacked professionalism and empathy to the situation.

As a previous employee of 24 Hour Fitness there mission is only to sell memberships and overpriced personal training. Customer service and retention is not a mission.

I expect to see a class action-lawsuit filled against 24-Hour for the inability to cancel memberships, lack of customer service and continuing charging members monthly dues.

This has been my home gym now for 5 months and I love this place! It is probably the longest standing gym in the community and it has a very family-like feel and atmosphere to it. The Front Desk team always greets everyone, often by name, and are willing to help with any issues. Adam is incredibly hard-working and does a great job of running this site, especially with the constraints of a typical commercial gym and resources at his disposal. Considering the gym probably has a member base of close to 10k clients, you literally couldn't ask more from a General Manager. You can always find a member of their mostly female training team around the gym and they are always smiling and willing to help out. Due to the 24HF website being a commercial site, this Murphy location posts constant updates on their social media channels, both FB and IG, and we are all always kept very aware of anything going on at the gym. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my gym experience. From top-to-bottom, this gym is a real asset to the Murphy community!

I don't know why this gym scores so low. It has a bunch of amenities (bb court, pool, sauna, hot tub, steam room) on top of what you'd expect at a gym. And management is great!

My wife and I were visiting from Seattle and came in to workout. We have a gym at home so we were ready to pay $25/day for the 2 days we were visiting. We instead were given a 3 day pass for the same price. The guy halved our cost and we didn't even ask for it... 5 stars

Love this gym. Wonderful management and very friendly front staff. Has a great Silver Sneakers program Monday thru Thursday. Love the new treadmills easy to use. Has a huge weights area, basketball court, swimming pool and aerobics room.

Just thought I'd leave something positive from my own experience and say that Adam and Brock are such good managers to all of the trainers. They go out of their way and spend money out of their own pocket to reward us, celebrate us, and even get things we desperately need around the gym. They both work really hard to show they care and our voices are heard.

I've been coming here everyday I'm in town since I bought my membership.

The staff is friendly and outgoing, they care about your success and they know you by name.

I've been meaning to leave a kind review and this morning I left my keys on a machine and couldn't find them.

A few of the trainers and the desk manager took time to help me and ended up finding them so I could go about my day.

You won't find a better place to workout in this area.

I love this gym!! I signed up a month ago on a awesome special they were running. Christian at the front desk was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with everything about memberships. They have all kinds of equipment, basketball court, sauna, and pool. It’s always clean, they have a cleaning crew on site all day. And they have Personal Trainers with all kinds of plans. Adam the Fitness manager was very helpful with my questions about certain machines. Very nice gym! Service is a priority here for sure!

I joined 24 just a few months back on an awesome special they were running. I really like this gym! they have tons of classes to do with all sorts of amenities such as the sauna, steam room, and pool! theirs plenty of machines and free weights to! The trainers seem to also seem to be very attentive and educated. and the front desk staff always greets me with a smile. i like all aspects about this gym! definitely a great gym to join!

I have been a member at 24 hour fitness prior to today, a lot has changed with the gym over time. But the staff have continued to make sure excellent service is given. Needless to say the gym is awesome, with everything you could possibly need.

Today, I went in to reup my membership and had an excellent experience with the young man at the front desk, Cole. He told me that he was from another gym previous and working at this one more recently. With being newer to this location, Cole still provided me with accurate information and was able to troubleshoot through an issues of signing me up quickly.

The gym serves all my purpose and is a good place to workout. The manager Austin is engaged, unlike most 24hours managers I met through the years. I know most of the trainers, whom I find very friendly. I am not one who recommends gyms, but this place serves it purpose. It is better managed and some improvements have been made.

Went last Sunday swim in the pool, Pool was very clean and the locker area and showers were clean. Staff was friendly and it was not crowded.

Amazing zumba instructor!!! We love Debbys class!

I would say that this gym is definitely towards the top of the list of the many gyms that I have been a member of. One thing I really like about this gym is the pool setup. They have two lap pools (indoor and outdoor) and one family pool. They keep out the kids from the outdoor lap pool which is an solid plus in my book. It's a gym- not a playground. I don't want kids splashing/peeing in the lap pool. Hats off to 24 hour fitness for strictly enforcing this.

The gym is pretty big and seems to have adequate equipment even during the rush hour. You get the normal people with low self esteem that feel the need to slam/drop their weights, but nothing more than the typical gym. As usual, when signing up give a burner phone number as you will get the normal spam calls trying to scam you into a personal trainer. Pro tip is to buy your membership at Costco- it's a lot cheaper.

I Love 24 hour fitness Murphy! It's just one of those gyms that feels like home. The staff is chill, and the other members as well! Also the personal trainers are very well educated in there profession. Would highly recommend the gym to anyone!

The front desk staff is very helpful with anything you need. Lots of machines so there’s no wait times usually. These past couple weeks with the new management team the gym has been a lot cleaner ! Solid gym!

24 Hr Fit Murphy cleaned a men’s toilet (previous person apparently had a bad diarrhea problem) was cleaned even as I was leaving (the next stall) after I did my business! Amazing cleaning crew!!! I didn’t even have an opportunity to register a complaint…I complemented the manager, Austin.

Still my go to gym when in Dallas. Has all the equipments and good energy. Steven, the Sales/Service Manager, help my wife and I to resolve an issue, and took extra steps to ensure we are happy. And we are. Thank You!
