Twisted Oaks

We drive by this place occasionally on the way between Knoxville and Murfreesboro. After the first stop, it became the plan to make sure we are in the area for dinner, and have dinner here. The food is creative and good, people are friendly, and the atmosphere is excellent. I highly recommend stopping here, or if you are local becoming a regular.

I've been here quite a few times and Morgan is an absolutely wonderful server. She understands the best in customer service and has a radiant personality. I usually order the Rattlesnake Pasta or Smithville Hot sandwich, and they are delicious - but nothing is better than walking away with a great experience because of the service. Morgan is a superstar and I can't rave enough about her. Thank you! ☺

Great outdoor venue, fun trivia night. Always something going on and that's nice for a small town. I had the fish tacos. I highly recommend it.

Stopped in on a road trip and fell in love with this place. Super cute beer garden out back. Food was SO good, server told us everything we ordered was made in house from scratch when we mentioned the freshness and quality which was a very pleasant surprise. The cole slaw was especially great. Everything including the craft beers was very fairly priced. Got excellent service from Kaylee. Will definitely be back next time we pass the area!

I had an exceptional dining experience at Twisted Oaks recently, and I have to commend both the food and the service. The salmon was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite was a delight, and it paired wonderfully with the accompanying sides.

Additionally, the bartender, Katie, was outstanding. She was attentive, friendly, and mixed some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Her knowledge of the drink menu and her ability to create the perfect drink to suit my taste were impressive. Katie's warm personality and excellent service truly enhanced my visit. I highly recommend Twisted Oaks for a fantastic meal and top-notch service.

Very solid local eatery. Quality service, and waitress was happy to accommodate our requests. We caught lunch around 1pm on a Saturday and there was still ample space and seating available. They took a "seat yourself" mentality (with signage) to the place and that was right up our alley.

I'd call the decor like a cross between a Logan's and a small town ski lodge. Little disappointed that a good bit of the furniture were just folding chairs and tables, but by no way was an overall detractor to the overall ambience of the restaurant.

Pictured are the special of the day, Shrimp Jambalaya, The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and The Fried Fred Burger. Spice is legit. To me the chicken wasn't too hot but had some heat.

Jambalaya as well as the French bread it was served with were well cooked and seasoned, however a little overly salty.

Fried Fred was grilled right and the egg was over easy and runny, just how we like it! Cole slaw was creamy and had a decent amount of black pepper. Surprisingly had potatoes in it-- not really my thing but it might be other people's thing.

Twisted Oak is a no frills, great quality American diner that if you're trying to get a good bite to eat while vacationing in Smithville. Would definitely recommend and return should we pass through again.

Always a good time and food selection excellent. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. New Menu and outdoor mural and backdrop, very nice!

I was part of a group of 14 on motorcycles. We sat out on the covered deck, which was great when it came a downpour! The service was incredible for our large group. I ordered fish and chips, which was great. Everyone had something different but there were no complaints. I plan to return to try other items on the menu.

First I would love to highlight our service. Chelsea was the most wonderful and attentive waitress I have ever had. She lights up a room and creates such an inviting and warm atmosphere! She was funny and genuine. Me and my family were so impressed and grateful. Second, the food was delicious and the portions were perfect! I definitely recommend getting a dessert as that was phenomenal and homemade! If you're having second thoughts about coming here, don't. It was very well worth it!

This was a cool place to go when it was Maggie's Landing, but the new owners have redone everything, and now it is totally awesome! Great atmosphere, both inside and out. Delicious food selections. And the new owners are really supporting the local music scene. Great place for dinner and music, or just to stop in for a drink and take a break from your afternoon motorcycle ride. Check it out!

The food was amazing. Really impressed with this place. It is a must eat!

Stopped by for lunch last week and this burger was AMAZING along with very delicious sweet potato fries. Every week there is a different specialty sandwich. Highly recommend and the atmosphere is always terrific

This place is absolutely amazing and is a required stop whenever in the area! Everything on their menu is amazing, but our family favorite is their bang bang shrimp pasta! They also have reasonable prices and all of their staff here is very nice and helpful in picking both drinks and food!

I was looking for a good local restaurant to eat at with my family and found it. I had a Twisted Burger with a side of fries and a Coca Cola to drink. The waitress I had was very polite, and the building looked like a saloon from an old western movie. Everything on the menu was very affordable as well, for 5 good food options it only costed almost $100. Very good food, very good service, very good atmosphere, and very good prices. Would definitely return

EDIT: The food was so good that I came back, but with my girlfriend. This time I had a salad with a side of fries and a water to drink. I once again had a good time and was glad to invite another person along with me.

I don't always do reviews because, who has time for all that? BUT Cobb Salad...yes the Cobb Salad was the best I've ever had at a restaurant! The picture says it all, it taste as amazing as it looks. We have been visiting family in this area for several years now and this is the first time we have eaten here since its opening in 2018. The service was terrific and our waitress took some photos for us so we could all be in the selfie. The owners were busy putting up Christmas decorations and interacting with all the patrons like family. What a treat of a place to this lake area! They also had a schedule up for live music, trivia and karaoke. None of those were going on while we were there because we were there for lunch.

We met friends for lunch here today for the first time. We enjoyed sitting outside. It was very inviting. I had the Cobb salad, which really hit the spot. The fall seasonal Calfkiller beers were refreshing. Our server took great care of us. We hope to be back soon.

Visited Twisted for the first time this week, staff were friendly and kind. Came to review as most people generally only review negatively. I came across Douglas Cheney review, and o happen to be there the same night enjoying the outdoor seating. Not only was our server prompt to our needs and kind. We observed what appeared to be a small party that was not a group I would want at my business they spoke to the staff disrespectfully from the start. The server did spill marinara sauce and only reason I know this is it caught my attention when we heard the young girl apologize and offer to bring more sauce and napkins and your behavior was so rude. It was an unfortunate accident fortunately no one was hurt. I saw the young lady who looked upset, got her attention and asked if she was ok because of the way we observed her treated. Using this forum to get something for free and lie is shame-full.

The food was great! We had traditional wings, Cobb salad w Salmon and Chicken strips with fries. Mexican margaritas were great as well.
First time coming in and highly recommended
