This is a great find just outside the city. You can order in or takeout. They have a large menu and make everything fresh and hot. We enjoyed both of our orders and will be back real soon.

This place is nothing short of amazing just like the folks who own and run it there isn't one thing that we had that didn't taste good the beans are beyond amazing!!!! The sauces are to die for !!! I promise this is one time you won't feel like you wasted your money !!!!!! And in this time and day THAT MATTERS !!!!!!!

Everyone local knows that this Prater’s location is the best! Don’t expect fancy seating and all that, because this place is located in the country. If you’re in the mood for BBQ, this place is the best, hands down! Their pork ribs are so tender and juicy. They will fall right off the bone! Get their potato wedges as a side— they are seasoned perfectly and taste amazing dipped in the bbq sauce! If you have a sweet tooth, check out their fresh slices of pie too! The prices and the taste can’t be beat!

Prater’s has a solid variety on their menu and they have many great choices. My family likes their loaded baked potatoes, chicken fingers, and fries. My favorite is their brisket quesadillas. On top of the great food, they welcome you with a smile. Prater’s is always a good choice.

We drove an hour out of our way for the “ best BBQ in Tennessee”. We were not disappointed! This was the most authentic, tastiest BBQ experience I have ever had. I can’t more strongly recommend Prater’s.

Worth the drive!

This unassuming building holds the secrets to some of the best BBQ this side of the Mississippi! Definitely worth the 5 minute drive from downtown McMinnville. Amazing menu selections and you can't go wrong with any item - however, I am in love with their BBQ Tacos!

The best ribs I have had in years. Meat just falls off the bone. This was my first time here and will not be my last. The sweet tea was amazing.

Best wings I've had in my life. The smokey flavor and the fact that they literally fall off the bone is enough said to show how good these wings are. Pulled pork is hit or miss but still enjoyable on the days it's not as good. Husband loves the Mac and cheese and the gravy!

Absolutely delicious. First time I'd been there in several years, forgot how good it was. Definitely won't let so much time pass before my next visit. Friendly staff, quick service too.

Some of the best brisket I've ever had

We were just passing by enroute to a hike in Rock Island State Park. Decided on a whim to stop and grab some ‘Q, potato salad and cole slaw and have us a picnic as well. Wow wee!!! Taste buds flavor explosions all and generous servings. Wish we could find such good back home in VA. They’ve been doing it for 28 yrs.

WOW. 250 from memphis, 600 from kansas city. prater's can rub elbows with the best of them. ribs are cooked perfectly and are sauced with a sweet sauce with a backtaste of zingy hot, fall off the bone tender as well. brisket is tender and juicy. the bbq wings are the bomb tender, tasty and smoked through and through. the sides are delicious. cole slaw is not sweet. the bbq beans are better than chili in some restaurants. fries are homemade. we'll be back.
